@@durdensbuddy Works :) This weeks songs on bass are fairly simple, so it could be misleading.

I will keep that in mind and will probably keep trying on all levels.  Get myself out of playing the same old songs all the time.

@@durdensbuddy In order to make it clean and easy to read, don't edit your post (in order to add or update scores) but create new post for that. In most cases we're not looking at previous posts after we update leaderboard with it's scores, and because we update leaderboard frequently, it's quite possible that we will simply don't noticed your new scores.

There are some great issues with Tribute, some wrong notes and also the final is fucked up (those bends should be a tremolo bend)

First run through.. 86% and 60 streak.. Definite room for improvement (with probably the easiest Solo I've seen in this competition)..  ;)

Yes I was, but since I was away from here a month or so, I started again from beginner. It's more interesting and challenging for me ;)

First tries (basically) for all the songs:

 

BEG (Bass):  I demand a recount, I think I hit those few notes but Rocksmith note detection said otherwise.  :)  Oh well, don't really like the song enough to try again.

 

INT (Bass):  I had a 99.6% on this in 2 tries before it was selected as a Championship song.  First try since then got me the 100%.

 

ADV (Bass):  Counter says 2, but I actually played this one 3 times, sorta.  The first time, I got 3/4 of the way through the song before I noticed that I hadn't leveled the whole thing up to 100%.  Doh!  So, I fixed that and went to "restart song".  Then, after playing through the entire song, for some reason it had decided to level down 1 section in the beginning.  Pretty sure I didn't miss it, and I have "level up" turned off which I read should also disable auto-leveling down, but I don't think I missed any notes in that section anyway so I can't figure it out.  Anyway, I leveled up the entire song AGAIN, exited and played it all over one more time to get a valid score.  This is a fun one, I think I might stay technically in MC but actually concentrate more on this song this week.

 

MC (Bass):  Not a bad song, but I like the Advanced better.  I don't know why my accuracy was 97% with mastery score showing as 96.6...  I played only 1 time and didn't pause / riff repeat / restart or anything.  I believe everything is/was leveled up to max.  So, I will do this one at least one more time this week to get a fully legit accuracy / score so I can stay in MC as a diehard...  But I think I'll actually be focusing more on Sultans of Swing even though I accept that my scores there will be ineligible as a declared MC player.

@@durdensbuddy We completely don't care about strikes. We look only on accuracy and streak, so your score with 2 strikes is still better then that with 1 strike :)

Mortalo should confirm, but I think that as a new participant you can declare what level you think you belong in, and whatever level you say will be the one where your score actually counts.  You are welcome to play songs below and/or above your level, but your accuracy / score for the song connected to your level will be what is considered.

 

Then, for next week and on into the future, your class/level will automatically be adjusted if you hit certain thresholds.  From the rules:

 

3.2 You are then leveled automatically as follows: If you score => 97% 3 weeks in a row or one score over 99% qualifies you for the next class. If you score <=79% on a level two weeks in a row you are leveled down one class. If you do not participate for 3 weeks in a row your name is removed from the lists but you may return and choose what class you want to be in when you return.

 

 

So basically, since this is your first week (right?), I think you can just decide your class, and then in upcoming weeks you'll get auto-sorted based on your scores.  The songs are a bit easier on bass this week than sometimes, though, so you may want to keep that in mind when choosing for now.

@@durdensbuddy What @@MilkmanDan said. You can declare in which class you want to be part of - the only class in which you can win. Still, you can post your scores for every song and they will be written in leaderboard, though scores from not your class will be greyed (below your class), so we know which scores and players are eligible for win in a class. And then based on results you will go up, down or stay in a class.

If a participant forgets to declare his class, we will do it for him, though sometimes you can disagree we that choice :)

Ok, in that case I think I'm probably a beginner.  If I score well enough next week, I'd be ok bumping to Intermediate, but let's see how I do with harder songs.

Gonna keep practicing this one and take a video at the end of the week for comparison. Hopefully I'll see a satisfactory improvement and that elusive 100% I'm chasing :)

re the Sultans cdlc  .  is anyone finding it hard to "immerse" themselves into song because the guitar tones aren't 'fitting' the piece ?

 

is there a way to change the guitar tones using the toolkit  ?   does anyone know where I could find some Mark K. guitar tones I could replace, if such a thing can be done by a nooblar ?

 

No way I'm going to develop sufficient facility at his technique in one week to even consider posting a score, but I do want to learn to play it.   Right after the other 5 I'm trying to master that is.

 

I have got to get a bass.   All of you are having way too much fun playing those.  Would be lovely to have more ladies join in   :wub: .  Why should all the fun activities be sausage fests?           Gahhhh !!!
