Hi!

I have always used ultra light gauge in my guitar strings, but the 6th string usually buzzes when I tune low pitches (i.e. drop d)

would it be better if I try higher gauges?

Thanks!

I had 10's on the guitar = lots of fret buzz..

I switched to 11's and have, pretty much, no buzz at all.

Granted, the action is a little higher due to the increased tension, so I tightened the truss rod slightly to compensate.

It's so much better when playing drop D (which used to be bloody annoying due to buzz)..

get some skinny top heavy bottom strings, ive got the d'addarrio ones (EXL125) on my start right now and their great low 3 are 10's and the high 3 are 9's make (imo) a better sounding low and easier bends for soloing
