  1. I'm super tired, I was just about to go to bed when I realised I hadn't checked the championship this week. Gave it a quick play just to throw up a score... it wasn't pretty. I'd like to go again and achieve a less pathetic score, but I'm just too tired. https://abload.de/img/week204nuxxg.jpg
  2. Another week where I only get a few plays in at the end...
  3. Almost missed this week. I was gonna play last night, but went to lay down on the couch for a few minutes and fell asleep. Got to play it a couple times this morning, but having tried it in the past, I knew I wasn't going to be in contention this week anyway.
  4. That's funny, the same thing happened to me. The first few times I played it it was fine. I somehow missed a random note those first few times (I'm sure I played it, but whatever). Then I retuned my E string because it was around +10, and after that the game barely recognized it at all. Tried restarting several times, and it would work properly. Kept on getting an X within the first ten seconds. I quit the game and loaded up again, then it was back to normal.
  5. Played some tonight and made a tiny improvement. Wow, nice one! I'm not gonna get anywhere near that score. edit: I just realised, it looks like you're playing a different version of the song than the rest of us. Everyone else who got 100% on the bass played 1363 notes, but you played 1425 notes, and it's also 9 seconds longer...
  6. Did this a few days ago but forgot to post it. With me, it's not the calluses that are a problem, although now that I've only been playing twice per week, the only remaining one I have is a very thin one on my index finger of my fret hand. I'm sure it would be a problem here if I could play it more times in a row than I can, but my fingers on my other hand just don't have the stamina to keep up that pace beyond the first time. The first time I played it the other day, I kept up alright, but the second time I began to falter half way through. I would start falling behind, and I didn't fall far enough behind that I missed a note, but I was noticeably off. The next couple times were more of the same. Played it 4.5 times that day and that was about all I could take.
  7. Oh man, this might be a tough week for me. I love Runnin' Down a Dream, but I play with my fingers exclusively, and this song on bass is a constant, unbroken stream of eighth notes throughout (except for the chorus, which is still mostly eighth notes) at 170bpm. I played this song once a few months ago and couldn't even finish i because my fingers got too tired maybe two thirds of the way through. This song made me think maybe I should learn to play with a pick, though playing with my fingers is one of things I liked about the bass in the first place. I've literally never even touched a bass pick. Matter of fact, I've never even seen one live in person. I did play the song a second time a couple of weeks ago and did get through it okay, but I don't know how many times in a row I'll be able to manage.
  8. My best percentage this week: And my best score: I'd like to keep going but I really need some sleep.
  9. Wow, 91% after only one play? Nice one. I've played it 18 times so far and haven't even cracked 90%. Personally I'm finding this song tougher than last week's intermediate song (Wish You Were Here). Might give it another shot tonight, but I don't know if I'll improve upon that.
  10. I don't appear to have been awarded any points for last week...
  11. I found this song really tiring, I don't think I could even play it very many times before needing to take a break. However, I must've misread the first post initially, because I just realised a couple hours ago that the Kinks song was the beginner song this week. I must've seen the lead guitar list and mistaken for the bass list as I thought Wish You Were Here was a level 3 beginner bass song, so that's what I had been playing this week. After nearly 20 plays, that was my best attempt, and by far my best note streak.
  12. A relatively substantial hard more improvement: Gonna keep going and see if I can break 2.4 million.
