I Want You (she's so heavy)

v1: Bass only right now. I wanted to play test the bass before I moved on to the guitar parts, and figured I may as well share it with you. 05/05/2015.

v3.6: Added Lead and Vocals. I have an issue with the Rhythm track, and I'm having trouble isolating the problem - its currently causing a crash after tuning at start-up. This is the latest working version. The Lead tone could be better, but isn't terrible. Lead is in Drop D, Bass is still E Standard. 07/05/2015.

v3.9.4: Added a 2nd Lead guitar tone, and tweaked a few notes. I'm still fighting with the Rhythm track; I think I need pro help. :blink: 12/05/2015.

You
5-String Bass Scale C Major

v1: This is my first attempt at a 5-String Bass exercise.

This is a scale chart in C Major that follows each note in the scale, going up the neck, with a walk down at the end. As I am still learning (as we all are, I suppose), and have never had any formal training, this may not be the most effective lesson, but I imagine it has some value.

There is no backing track, I simply recorded silence and then converted it into a mp3 to be able to create the "song".

I added vocals, and pitched them. So, if you can sing (don't ask me to!  :P ), you can follow along the notes in pitch except for the low B, which was off the chart in EoF.

You will find the exercise in the Bonus Arrangements of the Rhythm path.

v2: I took the advice of @@kokozula and doubled the BPM, I don't know how to add a drum machine in the background, so I added the Metronome to the arrangement instead. With all the notes compressed, I decided to keep the track the same length but added more ways to play through them.  04/02/2016

v1: I started with a tab I found on the net, but after watching a bunch of videos I decided the tab was incorrect, and I charted it on my own from the videos. Now, I'm not really a guitar player, and this song is waaay too fast for my skill, so please, intergooglepeeps help me out!  B) I'm also not 100% sure about the roll on the bass, but that's minor in my eye as compared to the correct chords on guitar.

v1: This is my first release of this song. My play tests revealed a few weird notes here and there in the bass and lead tracks, so I need to work on that, but it is overall playable and enjoyable. The bass track I charted by ear, and I think all the notes are correct, but it's all over the neck, version 2 will be tighter. 24/12/2014.

v2: OK, so I'm not ashamed to admit it: I was wrong. This is definitely played on a 4-String bass, and in E-Standard. I've converted the chart to E-Standard, but just for fun, I've kept the 5-String. I just like the way it sounds with the low D and B notes in places, and because I still find the end of the song easier to play. But maybe I'm just used to my 5 now... Apart from the Bass track upgrade, I've also tabbed the guitar by ear. Now, there are two guitars, but their parts were hard to distinguish. I have kept mostly to one, but I have combined the two parts into one chart in places to make the song more fun to play (hopefully). I have created files for Mac, PS3 & XBox. v1: This was charted all by ear, with a little help from Melodyne. Bass only for now. Under Rhythm, there is a bonus track with a 5-String Bass arrangement in B Standard, which is what the song is played with. The tracks are basically the same, but the 4-String version is missing the robustness of the low B. Not the most exciting song on bass, but still one of my favourites live by the Rheos. I will try to do the Rhythm and Lead, but they will take time. 01/05/2015.

v2: Charted the Lead guitar by ear. It undoubtedly has a lot of errors, but I think if you listen to the track you'll understand why: it's not exactly an easy piece to tab. I did the best I could. There is independent phrasing for the Lead track. The Lead tone may need work, so I apologize in advance if it sucks. I have also resynced the vocals. I created files for Mac, PS3, & XBox. v1: Lead guitar only. I'm still working on this, which is why no bass or 2nd guitar track yet. Normally, I would do all tracks at once, but the lead is played by Tielli on a Tenor guitar. So, I wanted to test it out before I re-tuned my guitar. And I figured if I was going to pack it, I might as well share it with you, if it was good. Rhythm and bass are to come.

A tenor guitar only has 4 strings. You will need to tune only the top 4 strings on your guitar, the ones normally tuned to DGBe. The custom tuning to match a tenor guitar is in 5ths: AEBF#, respectfully on those strings. And then capo to the third fret.

When you set the number of strings in EOF to 4, it colours them red-yellow-blue-orange. I thought this may be confusing, since you will be playing on the strings that are normally blue-orange-green-purple. So, I left the bottom two strings. If there is a better way to manage this, or some way to tell EOF to colour the strings differently, please let me know. 05/12/2014.

I recently got a 5-String bass and the Rheostatics are the only band I have done CDLC charts for where the bassist (Tim Vesely) plays a 5-String. This was as much an learning exercise for me on how to make a 5-string part, as it was a passion for the Rheos; there are only a few notes on the B string.

Thank you to @@firekorn, for his very easy to understand instructions (for interested charters: here), and thank you to all the other developers and charters who have contributed to figuring out how to make this possible. 20/01/2015.

v1: The lead parts are minimal, just a little slide guitar. For some reason that I can't figure out yet, RS doesn't count the plays on lead. But it works otherwise. This is primarily a rhythm track. Unfortunately, for about 20 seconds during the slide solo, there are no rhythm notes. I have the chords, so I will try to add them in later, if I can figure them out. If you do before I do, please pass them along, and I'll add them. The Rhythm is played in G6 tuning (DGDGBe), all other instruments are in E Standard. 10/01/2015.

Little Bones

v1: I'm going to have to revisit this one, but I believe it is good enough to release. I'm not 100% satisfied with the bass track, it seemed a little off to me somehow. The rhythm track seemed OK. The lead track I think is good too, but I charted the solo at the end entirely by ear, so there will be mistakes. Locked In The Trunk Of A Car

BETA1: I got frustrated with the crummy tab for the lead part, so I bought an official book of Hip tab; it should arrive in about 2 weeks. The good news is, I should be able to make a lot more Hip songs.    :D But, until then, the rhythm part is pretty spot-on I feel. There's a part in the bass that needs work, but I haven't nailed it down. The lead is okayish... I guess...    <_< sort'a... I tried to tab the solo at the end the best I could, but I've given-up on that until I get my book. So, beta it is for now.

Emperor Penguin

v0.8: Please note: this is a test version, and I have not created the tones yet. Some interesting things in this track - There are a total of 4 guitar tracks: 2 unique Rhythm tracks, and 2 Lead tracks. The Primary Rhythm is played fingerstyle. The Lead parts don't enter until the latter half of the song, so I put one of each of the Rhythm tracks at the start of the song, so you have something to do. The Bonus Lead is played on a dobro guitar, and is of course, slide guitar. The Primary Lead is also played with a slide. The odd thing about the Primary Lead (and partially why this is still a test), is it has slide notes that extend above the 24th fret on the fret board. EoF & RS won't allow for 27 frets, so to express the notes played above the 24th fret I made them bends on the 24th to the extent of what the note should be: 27 \ 26 / 27~~~\. Updated tones, DD, and files for other platforms will be coming soon. Thank you in advance for any feedback you can provide regarding the expression of this tab. Hi all,

 

I want to thank all of you for the positive feedback to my customs!  I'm still working on revamping all of my customs, but progress is slow because I am also a DM for my weekly D&D table.  We are currently playing an adventure I wrote, but... I'm not actually done writing it yet!  :D  So, I have to make sure I stay well ahead of the players in the story line.

 

Not to worry though, I have a LOT more songs I want to do, and a lot of desire to do them, I'm just saying that there may be a bit of a lull for a month or so.  I'm still here, and I'm still appreciating the love and constructive feedback you give me about the CDLC I produce.  So thank you, and stay tuned!

I was very close to finishing my next song, when my PC decided take up smoking...  it seems to have been a terminal choice.  :(

I'm finally back up and running.  I should have my next CDLC revamp completed... soonish; I'm 3/4 done tabbing another guitar part by ear, so it's not exactly quick.  But I'm back at it!  YAY! :D
