How to use a different Tone in songs?

andiez

Question

Hello guys. I was wondering if its possible to use a different custom made tone in any songs at rocksmith 2014? It would be helpful because some of the custom songs people make have really silent tones in some songs, but if I could just switch them with some other tones would be great.

Go into the Tone Designer, and design the tone you'd like.   Name it, and save it.  Then, assign it to the "Tone Stick" (keys 2-4 on your keyboard).  Then press the corresponding key whenever you want to use that tone.  You will see the name pop-up on the right hand side of the screen, where the other tone names pop up.

You're welcome!

I forgot to mention though, make sure you calibrate your guitar before you start.  That way you'll get the best results for your particular guitar (you should also calibrate every time you switch guitars, if you use more than one).

To calibrate, go into the tuner and select any tuning (E Standard for example).  Then press "space" to enter the calibration.  Make sure the volume on your guitar is turned all the way up.

You'll go through the same "mute the strings" and "now play loudly" thing that you went through when you played RS for the very first time.  This will make sure the in-game output of your guitar is calibrated to your guitar.
