How should I Reinstall My CDLC's to avoid falling back into the issue I only just seem to have resolved?

I have a question and I wonder if anybody else has encountered this issue and might have any suggestions.

I've been playing Rocksmith 2014 Remastered on PC since 2021 without any issues at all until roughly a week ago. In fact, I have a YouTube Channel where I've been happily posting play-throughs since August of 2023.

At one point when Rocksmith updated, before the current enabler from CustomsForge was implemented, I used the Steam Beta code "JustInCaseWeNeedIt" to revert back and get CDLC's to work again. I have been using that method ever since that point and playing every single day without any issues at all until about a week ago.

I played for 3 or 4 hours on one night and posted a bunch of those the following day on YouTube. The following day when I went to play, all of the sudden I was getting Lag / Stuttering in both the sound and visuals on every song. Not just my guitar sound either. It was the entire program. In fact, even on the song preview screen the sound would briefly cut out and then return. Inside the song the sound would cut out for varying amounts of time and then return. Again, not just my guitar but the actual song itself. All sound would just disappear for up to two or three seconds then it would return. When the sound returned, the visuals... the moving song chart you follow would rubberband back roughly the equivalent amount to what was missed and then it would all move normally for a period of time before repeating the same. This would happen 4 to 6 times in the span of a roughly 4 minute song and none seemed to be exempt from it.

The part that I find most perplexing is that I had not changed any settings on anything I was using between the day it worked fine and the months / years it had worked to the following day when it didn’t anymore. Trying to work out what the issue actually was and to fix that issue, I found that my CPU Cooling System was starting to fail and my temperatures were going up unreasonably high. I thought that maybe my issue was related to thermal throttling. Because of this, I got myself a new CPU cooling system and installed that. Now my cooling issues seem to be completely resolved. The problem is that this didn’t resolve the previously described Rocksmith “Lag / Stuttering” issue previously mentioned. Here is where some of you probably want my system specifications so here they are:

Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X Processor (12X 3.7GHz/64MB L3 Cache)

Processor Cooling: NZXT Kraken 240 RGB - 240mm AIO CPU Liquid Cooler

Memory: 32GB DDR4-3200 XPG D41 RGB

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 - 10GB GDDR6X

Motherboard: GIGABYTE B550 AORUS PRO AC

Power Supply: 800 Watt - 80 PLUS Gold Certified

Primary Storage: 2TB Samsung 970 EVO PLUS M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD -- Read: 3500MB/s; Write: 3300MB/s

Sound Card: 3D Premium Surround Sound Onboard

Operating System: Windows 11 Home

With that out of the way, like I said, the issue didn’t resolve itself after replacing the cooling. I tried so many different things to resolve it that I would have to virtually write a book to cover them all. I tried PC settings and game settings even though I hadn’t changed any between when it was working and when it wasn’t. For a while I thought it was actually my Streamlabs OBS that was causing the issue. The latest thing I have done is I entirely Reset my PC and reinstalled Windows from a blank slate. I saved the personal files I needed to an external hard drive then wiped it all clean. I now have Rocksmith and Streamlabs OBS reloaded but without any CDLC related files on the latest Rocksmith version. I can load Rocksmith and it works perfectly without any sound or visual disturbances / glitches both on it’s own and with Streamlabs recording it as I had previously used it.

My question is related to a couple of things. Has anybody had this happen or anything similar would be the first part. The second part is related to how to reenable and start using CDLC again in the best way. Like I said, up until the issue began a week ago I had been using “JustInCaseWeNeedIt” Beta Code in Steam since something like 2022 and it worked perfectly until last week when it didn’t. I don’t know if it’s got anything to do with that or not. I know that since then there is the CustomsForge CDLC Enabler you can simply use instead of the old Cherub Rock version. I have Cherub Rock so that makes no difference to me one way or the other. I just don’t want to have this issue return if I can avoid it. I’m wondering if I should revert to the older version that had worked fine for so long with that code because I know that’s still there, or should I just download the CDLC Enabler with the current version? This next section may be relevant to that part of the question too.

In trying to fix this issue, I had scrapped the JustInCaseWeNeedIt version and updated Rocksmith to the newest version and I used the current CDLC Enabler in trying to resolve the issue. That did not fix anything at all. No matter what I did between those two versions, nothing fixed that lagging sound and rubberbanding visual problem. The only thing that seems to have it resolved for the moment is complete lack of CDLC or any Enabling downloads in play. Without those, it’s currently all working as it should be. I’m wondering if, like I said, anybody has encountered a similar issue or might have any ideas how to proceed to minimize the chances of having this pop up again.

As far as I can tell from all the things I’ve tried in the past week to get to where I am right now, it had something to do specifically with Rocksmith and the CDLC’s involved but even that I cannot be sure of. I would be incredibly grateful for any advice or guidance anybody might have. I’ve been losing my mind over this and would really love to get back to just playing and recording like I was before this mess started.
