need help with stop working when i select or create a profile

I just bought this game on Steam today. After launching the game and logging into my Ubisoft account, whenever I reach the profile selection page, whether creating or selecting a profile, the game stops responding after a few seconds. Additionally, the CDLC installer says it cannot recognize the directory, and when I manually specify the directory, it returns an error.

I don't know for certain, hence I am guessing, but it really sounds like a failed or corrupted install of either Steam or Rocksmith. I would try to verify files through Steam Library, if that does not work, Uninstall the game and reinstall after making sure Steam client is updated.

Is your Steam installation on the C drive or do you have it on another drive? That can cause errors with the Library Directory and the Installer locating it.

I have already reinstalled the game and verified the integrity of the files multiple times, and even changed the installation drive, but the result is still the same. Since I can launch the game, it shouldn’t be a problem with my computer. Could this issue be caused by a recent game patch?

Could be needing Directx update. Do you have any blutooth or usb headphone or speakers plugged in? unplug them  if you do.

Best thing to do is see if you are getting a .mdmp and posting it here for @ Phantatsy  to read for you to help diagnose the problem. He is a rather busy person, and it maybe a better idea to head to the discord server and seek help there, where more people are active.
