Question

Hey fellow Rocksmith diehards,
I’ve been a longtime fan of this community and everything CustomsForge has done to keep the platform alive—seriously, the tools, the CDLC, the passion here is unmatched. But I think we all feel the same sting: Ubisoft dropped the ball with Rocksmith+.
No custom content. No community tools. No joy. Just a subscription with half the soul.
So here’s the idea: What if a company that actually understands musicians—like **Yamaha/Line 6**—took over the Rocksmith IP or engine and *did it right*?
Why Yamaha?
- They own Line 6 (HELIX, Spider amps, tone modeling)
- They make instruments, effects, and interfaces we actually use
- They're big enough to navigate licensing and still care about creators
What would this look like?
- Full custom content support with respect for legal boundaries
- Online jam rooms (low latency)
- Helix/Line 6 tone integration
- Fair pricing ($1–2 song downloads, $10/month option)
- Modern tech: 4K, VR, streaming overlays, recording tools
I’m working with a collaborator to draft an open letter to Yamaha/Line 6 and launch a fan petition to show the demand. But before we go wide, I wanted to run it by the Forge first.
Would this community support something like this?
Could we rally around it without crossing any lines?
No piracy. No illegal sharing. Just a call to revive something we all love with a company that could *actually evolve it*.
Would love your thoughts.
Thanks for everything you've built here,
—Scott (driver4729)
