Hello!
My name is Alexandre D'Hooge, I'm a PhD student in the Algomus team in Université de Lille (France). For my PhD Thesis, I study how tablatures are used by guitar players, in particular in composition contexts. I hope this post is in the right place, I enjoy the content I can find on CustomsForge and I would love to have your feedback!

I am currently studying a system that suggests a completion to a rhythm guitar tablature excerpt, with the help of a chord progression. In order to assess the quality of this proposed system, I am conducting an online survey with guitar players.
If you're over 18 years old and can read guitar tablatures, you're eligible to participate in this study, and I would be very grateful for your participation in this listening test of approx. 20 minutes.

Answering this survey is voluntary, but it's worth noting that the code and data of this research will be shared at the end of my thesis, in a free, libre, and open-source manner.
Some questions are about personal characteristics (age, gender...), they're not enough to identify you but simply aims at ensuring that this study (which is anonymous) is representative of the global guitarists population.

This study is done as part of the TABASCO project and has been approved by an ethics Committee.

If you have any question regarding this study, or my research work, feel free to contact me through my personal website (please be aware that I currently cannot disclose how the system presented in this study is built, to prevent any bias in the results).

You can access the study at the following link:

This study is also available in French.
Feel free to share this study to anyone you know who might be interested!

Thank you very much for your time.

PS: I'm really sorry that the survey is that long, it's clearly a design flaw on my part and it is now too late to change it. Please note that can pause the survey and finish it later by clicking the button on the top-right corner.
