Rules? No rules! We pick a song and everybody is invited to share his version. Songs shall be called every week, if you don´t manage to nail your version within the week - entrances are ALWAYS welcome. No winners, no losers, just fun and personal progress, a bit bringing in the harvest of the hard work we all do here every week by converting to own produced music, and (for me very important) learning (easy versions) of songs to be able to play them anytime when a guitar is in the room - and that shall be a part of thinking on the next song selection maybe.

So - as we had Animals - The House of the Rising Sun last week  JUST GREAT, yay!!!! Everyone who has not finished his cover - just post whenever ready in the running week (yes, this one) so we all will recognise it.

I was looking for 3 chord songs since im a noob  for the cover song of this week. Smoke on the water would be cool but its actually harder than expected. Party for your rights by the beastie boys is pretty easy but I decided this weeks cover is gonna be :
The Hand that Feeds by NIN.

I think rodmans voice would be interesting in that song and hopefully its an easy enough song for more people to participate this time!


As for the ratings of the songs I'm pretty mixed about them so feel free to give your own ratings (numbers please)  and at the end  of the week i'll just do an average  and update it. I added public summer song  for bass beginner ( its mostly just 2 strings) cause i personally found trex song a bit hard to 100% (even if its just like 2 riffs and going up and down a scale). And I wasnt sure how to rate can't stop guitar parts because sum 41 imo was way harder than rhcp and that was a 6...yet jellis had rated 8 for the lead and mikson 7.5 so yea just a bit tricky.

Does anyone else have issues with MMMBop? I've played this before going through songs when I was younger. for some reason the chords really never register, I got a 85.5% on my most recent try. I'm starting to thing my Ibanez RGT1221PB which mainly a metal shred guitar isn't really cut out for Rocksmith.

heres my test playthroughs:






@ jasmith85  yea rocksmith sometimes is wonky. When i feel like i am hitting the notes and it doesnt detect sometimes restarting the game helps. Might be a placebo but it works for me lol.

Also be carefull on how you play the E chord cause emmy tabbed it two different ways and I believe if you play the extra strings or dont then it might not count as a stroke since you are playing more or less strings. But that's just a theory idk if its an actual thing.

Are you sure this is a 4? It feels harder than the Sum 41 song from last week. Lots of fast licks. I've been practicing for about 90 minutes and this is the best result I got.

yea lemme know ranking numbers. daz had it at 5.5 seemed pretty easy for me did it first try so idk.. and then since that was first try and baby boomer took me a couple i was conflicted.

Cool! Really good and driving vibe. Very athmospheric. I must listen with headphones again cause over that subpar tiny laptop speakers the interresting soundig vocals are not loud enough.

Now that was something... Loved the song before. Now it made my ever best songs list on Spoty.
 

Absolutely no acoustic that time
What did i do. Timelimit was set to like 2h - so.... phhh
Drums are ultra easy and steady - so boxed one also with mini synths there.
The rest is all me
Started with bass - one take only ...hah.... not used to go a whole song the same riff mainly. If i failed a bit - let´s blame it on the electro drummer, stupidboy.

Lead Guitar - well the tabs mainly say to go octaves - i dropped D and went full powerchords - and i think the steam is needed there, i like how the main riff came out. 1st take (started one with octaves but stopped soon). The A7x sound i used with my Dean Angel Of Death kicks.

Rhythm guitar - supporting certain parts with steady powerchords.

Vocals - haaaaaaaaaaard. You gotta listen closely when he starts over and over in the middle of bars.... pff...

Really happy with that one, yay

It seems a tough week.

My first plays were lost (only got Red Hot Chili Peppers) and it's one of the songs that always makes me play the bass (even though my slapping/popping isn't any good  )

I hope it's the correct version because I think I have 3 versions already

The pain is hearing that it isn't very clean because when playing acoustic I always have the urge to strum a lot

Odd, are you sure that is @ Djpavs  version?
Because I only have his version (the one I put for the week) and I just now replayed the sections in both rhythm and lead and i don't have those blue lines.


one is lead one is rhythm dont know which is which 


I imagine pavs version should be the better one since its the newest one but I havent tried the other version yet.

DAMN that was quick, Rod the Machine!! Grats!! Wasnt expecting someone to post a cover so soon. Surprised you even added synths and everything, very well done! Also have fun at the concert! I'm not really a NIN fan but I remember I was lucky enough to see them at a festival and they were one of my favorites of the night. (Keane was number 1 for me cause that guy has some incredible vocals and lots of good songs imo)
