2024 SELECTION - PART II - YEEAHH!!!

As always, it is with great pleasure that I am hosting this week. 

This week is Part II of a selection of brand new songs from 2024!!!

There are 9 songs in total!!! You can tell I did struggle to fill each path... 

I hope I got the ratings more or less right. However, I am confident this is going to be a very fun week. 

We have new releases from many well known artists, mixed with more "exotic" songs I found (in order to fill the blanks )

I want to do "2024 selection part III", but I hope I can find enough song to fill all the paths...

I will comment later about the songs themselves and my impressions, but here are some quick notes: 

 The Cure - A Fragile Thing> This song has rhythm and bass path, but rhythm is way too simple and not suited for the championship. The bass path was OK, but I really didn't like the tone, so I decided not to include it.

311 - Need Somebody> It has a bass path, but it said Custom tunning and it was actually B standard. I don't have a 5 string bass, so I didn't even bother to test it. SORRY!!!

Telula  - Never Enough> I was struggling to find a good bass only song for Masterclass, when I found this one. This song is short but really groovy and cool, so I thought it was worth including it here. I hope you agree and enjoy it.

Very cool, thanks for hosting again !! I personally enjoy when there's lots of songs cause that means if i don't like one i don't have to listen to it alot :v Hasn't happened in a while but its possible.
Telula is the one that i am looking forward to never heard of them and sounds fun

Yea really nice song, I knew i'd like it just from the 10 seconds i heard from preview. Will definatley check out more of their songs on spoti/cf and also take a dive in Scrams collection since he tends to post tasty basslines just havent downloaded his work in a while.

Thanks for the interesting selection of songs! There are bands here that I like to listen to but I haven't followed them recently and I didn't even know that they released new albums 

As for the ratings, I think they are too high for every song I played - I'm just comparing it to everything we play here (just don't get angry about it!) 

 

Some lead scores

I was at The Cure concert almost exactly 2 years ago and they were already playing some songs from the new album. I was surprised that it took them a while to release it.

My rating is 2-2.5, because this is really easy, mostly streaks of single notes.

This one has some more problematic licks and harmonic notes, but there's basically no solo, I'd give this a 4.5

Interesting song by Marilyn Manson. There are some technical licks in the chart, like bends and slides in one, 4 is ok.

I completely missed the new Black Keys album, and I used to listen to them quite a bit.

Quite a technical chart, but not too fast, and the solo is not hard. 6.5 max for me.

I hope others will share their ratings, because maybe I've become too good, that's why these songs seem easy to me, but I doubt it

yea tough, but since no solo id also probably give a 4.5 nice song

i have no idea what is going on this song tbh. Probably would have more clue if  i played more pinkfloyd or a simplified jimi hendrix something down those lanes...but i never did so the intro riff is a bit foreign for me and hard. Rating wise have no idea...does seem more rhythmy than lead path. but out of the two advanced songs i guess i understand why you made this lead.

thank you for not including this path in rhythm championship. that was pretty mindnumbing xD but i guess maybe it could be good practice for beginners..or atleast something to boost their morale

Whaaaaa - what a basstrack.... normally i just don´t get behind the Jap or Kor songs we have - that one is a blast to play and a blast to get your rhythm game up. Try counting 8ths all the way, helps a lot to get the fast 16s on spot.

I´t not 9, (8.5) is good. The Upbeat rhythm is to get used to (drums don´t hit the 1,2,3,4 but they come at the ANDs, so is a lot of the noteplacement.
