CDLC on Linux Instructions

is there a way to get the cdlc to work? i have a copy of my old DLL from the computer. I'm new to linux so not sure if running the .exe from the tutorial will work for linux.

The following steps worked for me on 1/12/2025:

Follow these direction to get Rocksmith 2014 working with the USB cord on Linux (It also worked for me on openSUSE and Fedora:

After that works, to get custom songs added:
Download the CDLC Executable:
https://ignition4.customsforge.com/tools/cdlcenabler

Move the cdlc executable into the Rocksmith Prefix:

cp ~/Downloads/RS2014-CDLC-Installer.exe ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/221680/pfx/drive_c/

Run the executable in the Rocksmith Wine Prefix:

WINEPREFIX=~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/221680/pfx wine ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/221680/pfx/drive_c/RS2014-CDLC-Installer.exe

This will prompt you to manually point it to the Rocksmith 2014 steam folder within wine. It's in there, find it.

Download songs to your hearts content here:
https://ignition4.customsforge.com/

Place downloaded p.parsec song files into the steam Rocksmith 2014 dlc folder.

How did you get this to work on steam deck ? Im also having trouble getting cdlc to install.

You can use wine to execute windows programs/the mod installer and steam has protonlayer for the actual game, RS14 is rated GOLD for linux - so it should be running smoothly.

You can see how to enable proton here.

I haven't actually tried doing this on linux myself, but this is how I'd go around getting it working.

yup i got it running. it runs natively. have to adjust the .ini to get the cable to work.  but I'm talking about how to patch it for CDLC.  the game works just not the CDLC because idk how to patch it on linux

Since the cdlc enabler (apparently) doesn't work on linux you'd need to put the .dll file in your rocksmith folder manually for cdlc to work.

I actually looked that that thread before I posted. I tried placing the DLL  but it didnt do anything. tried the winetricks thing and it didnt work. 

 

the game works just no cdlc. so not a huge loss

Finally worked!

 

in wineconfig had to choose install dll. then installl d3dx9.dll that seemed to do it besides the patch from this site.
