Why some custom charts have notes out of sync?

regdfgfdhdsfhsdfhfds

Question

In some charts it seems as longer the song goes on, the more out of the sync the notes on the chart are to the actual song. (This isnt delay coming from when I play the guitar, this is the charts being off time with the actual song)

A good example of this is 'bad to the bone' by running wild . About halfway through the song the notes on the chart are totally off time to the actual song.

Is there anyway to fix this or is it just caused by low quality customs?

It's caused by the beatmap not being synced to the audio properly so, "low quality customs" as you said.

For the example listed there's apparently a better version https://ignition4.customsforge.com/cdlc/59812 but for most cases the only "fix" is to either make your own version of the song or resync it in eof (which is pretty much one step short of re-making it from scratch anyway).

^^^yep, to further clarify if you aren't familiar with the process - when a custom is created the author has to sync up the song to the chart, a process done by hand and many people who create custom DLC do a very sloppy job of this. Obviously if the beat is not in sync with the song, its not going to play very well

You can sync up the first beats and it will slowly drift out of sync - it must be manually corrected through the entire song until the end. If someone just syncs up the start, sets the bpm and is lazy about the rest, it will drift out of sync more and more
