When saving an EOF file the dialog box "Edit note frets / fingering" pops up for the chords (I think).

What am I supposed to do here?
And how do I find out "the best" fingering?

Can You recommend a resource that helps with the input?

It pops up for chords that don't have fingering defined in "chordshapes.xml". You can get a better one here (section 1.4 Chord Fingerings) but most of the time it's better to do them all manually.

You put the finger in the finger box used to play the note. If it's an open note leave it blank.

1 for index
2 for middle
3 for ring
4 for pinky
T for thumb (I think?)

I just put how I'd play it. Get ya guitar out and try a bunch of different fingerings and see what works best.

T or 0 is for thumb indeed.

And yeah, it's about how it's played, there isn't a best one (though there is some common thing that you'll find often but some artist might shake things up).
