PC problem, jumping to desktop randomly

Does anybody know of a reason why my game randomly jumps out to the desktop, cant see any notifications for emails etc just seems to jump to the desktop as if I'd alt tabbed.

 

Any help/fixes appreciated.

Isn't there an exclusive mode setting? Maybe check the options and make sure it's set like that.

 

Betcha it's a program like java trying to update itself. Have you looked at the task manager to see what processes are running?

The exclusive mode is about audio, and it's just blocking every other application the acces to the audio card.

 

The more probable option is that another program is trying to get in front and push back RS.

the game doesn't actually end just minimises. I'll try the task manager next time to see if anything is trying to run. I dont think it's a memory problem, I'm running 8 Gb ram. The annoyance is nothing is on the screen when it happens, no notice for updates or anything.

I have the same problem and it drives me up the wall. I tried a registry edit that stops popup tooltips completely, just in case that's the solution, but the game still loses forcus sometimes.
