NEWS NEWS BIG NEWS!

 

Well - i have been thinking about this and tweaking it for about three years and today we get something new...

 

Over the last years we got the weekly leaderboard, the 10-week leaderboard and awards all fine - we do have a great competition with good ruling.

 

What i felt and feel is missing is something that easily shows

1) the progress for oneself

2) more objectively then the 10w-leaderboard show how good a player is - what´s that players level in bass? or lead?

 

We are all here to progress - and what i wanted is something to show the actual XP Level of any participating player in any path.

Independently from how many people are competing in his class and how strong that competition is (which vastly will effect his rank in his class)

 

So i wanted a system like in any RPG or alike where a players level can be seen by one number.

 

Luckywise our man @@meelo caught the idea and (- as my coding is - lets put it that way - if i ever will make a videogame - the hero is likely to be missing limbs -) he jumped right in and arranged all the fancy data - gathering scripting stuff in like no time, helped testing and gave a lot of input too - THX M8 :tropical_drink: !!!!!

 

So...

 

Here is RSCS Player Level (XP)

It´s a score from 1-(potentially 100) where 50 means you can about master a song rated 5 with 100% or get about 85% on a 6er..

or... someone who reaches the level close to 30 will be able to compete in INT and might wanna level up

or... the absolte guitar god who would have scored 99 on 3 GOG (10) songs in 12 weeks (and has no lower MC scores) would be level 99

 

I have tested the system extensively with many players data - and it works damn fine by now.

 

How is it calculated?

It takes all scores from top rated songs of players class (3/5/7/8 and 9 for MC) and the class aboves scores (here any diff rating) multiplied by the accuracy achieved - and that is averaged over the last 12 weeks without max and min score - so potential wrongly rated songs or single poor performances for any reasons won´t distort the level.

At least 3 counting scores in the last 12 weeks are needed.

It will be updated every week.

 

Plus you can see improvement calculated against the 3 months before +/- and we will have the data all back since first week on CFCS soon.

 

It is beta stage by now - so please everyone look into your data - check your opponents and be verbose about improvements!!!

First - nice work on the RSCS XP  concept.  As I suspected, I am teasingly close to advancing from Beginner.  I was already thinking after this current week was completed to making that move.  Now that I played the beginner song today, I'm sure I should move up after this week (I might try the next level song, but no promises!)

 

So, I'm going out with a bang and submitting scores for Beginner Lead, Rhythm AND Bass! :)

 

Lead - 98%

 

Rhythm - 99.05%

 

 

Bass - 97.01%

My first GoG entry :o

 

Had a bit of drama with the main lead... First go, the solo got downgraded after the song. So first go was invalid. Then second go, I accidentally pressed enter instead of shift when taking the screenshot, so I missed the screenshot and had to play it once more. Well, the practice paid off, as first go was 82, second 81 and third 84.

This isn't exactly a new song :D  but i have some problem with recognize some notes, i think at the end of the week i will at 94 more or less

I keep getting misses from the rhythmic strums after the slide, but not slide itself.

That solo caught me off guard, and it randomly ignored a note at the very end.

And the same note ignoring happened here -_- Ideally I'd want that to be 100 %, but meh. I also don't think the rhythm tab is 100 % correct. I don't think they are playing F# and G notes at the same time at the beginning. Makes such a conflicting sound. I think lead and rhythm are both playing that F# G5 riff

Let's see if I can explain it better than Rodman :)

 

We make an estimate of player's actual playing level based on the scores they have posted in the last 3 months. The songs that we accept for these estimates have to meet certain attributes.

For Beginner class players, we accept songs that are level 3-4 and are marked for Beginner class and we accept level 5-6 intermediate songs.

For Intermediate class players, we accept level 5-6 intermediate songs and level 7-8 advanced songs.

For Advanced class players, we accept level 7-8 advanced songs and level 8-9 masterclass songs.

For Masterclass players we only accept 8-9 masterclass songs, no GoG for now.

 

So as for yourself. You have only played one applicable song so far, so we cannot give an estimate of your level just yet. Once you have entered the weekly competition at least three times with an applicable song, we can make a crude estimate, but the estimate gets better the more weeks you enter.

Found something funny from the player level side. According to the leaderboard data that it has parsed, @@Stark_Knight is a total noob, but because he insists on dominating MC and GoG, his scores are unapplicable. Well, it's clearly a mistake in the beginner column of leaderboards and we shall fix this bug soon enough!

 

Poor @@Rodman has to go and manually repair all weeks with invalidly marked players! :lol:

Apparently i had played this one before.   today i played: lead, Bonus lead, rhythm and then back to lead.   45min of the same song did not feel that bad.  Its fun to play.

YOU CAN SKIP THAT INTRO IN LAS BY GOING TO RR (press space) move to second section and then back to first SELECT RESUME SONG - AND VOILA - YOU START AT BEGINNING OF NOTESTREAM!
