I Suggest We use a higher quality setting then 4 (Default) in wWise, i like 8-10...

10 only if i have something LOSSLESS

8 for 320kbps MP3s

6 for 192kbs MP3s

4 sounds more like a 128kbps MP3 to me... Bit tinny... maybe I'm fussy...

i know not everyone has great speakers but using a set standard from now on at least a 6+ rule would be good i think...

Size doesn't change that much...

Backup CDLC link ^^ - should list even the ones that got removed for inactive links...
just restored my ability to login again, so will try to slowly resubmit the missing ones...
and hoping to make a small come-back with some new CDLC ideas...

Anyone know how the devs are getting along incorporating the .wem build into to toolkit? The CLI scripts make converting the .wavs a much simpler task, but there is still a bit of faffing about.

I have my default templates quality setting at 7 just now. Difference between 4 and ten can be around 8Mb. That's 4Gb extra if you have 500 cdlc...

All my customs can be found here :)

ok well using 7-8 sounds much better to me then 4 resulting in crappy <4MB .psarc files often...

How timely and ironic.  I just happen to be preparing a tutorial on "How to Reduce CDLC File Size" for those users that don't like disk hogging files.

I use the default audio quality of 4 in the toolkit which is roughly equivalent to VBR of 128kbps for producing CDLC.  As a point of reference, most official DLC are 4MB to 8MB in size and happen to be encoded at a VBR of 128kbps.  I think these are good file size numbers to shoot for.  Keeping in mind, this is game, slash guitar learning tool, and not an audio player for listening to high fidelity audio.  (No insults intended to anyone.)

Any CDLC that are over 7MB in file size get re-encode (down sized) because disk space is important to me.  Additionally I believe the smaller size files load and play better.  Just my two cents on topic.
