Hope you finger is feeling better soon @@Shocked Mind :)  I have frequent issues with my left wrist (I blame my age lol!) and I'll say this....The pain never ever just goes away on it's own if you keep playing, so a rest period is inevitable - better to make that one or two days than much longer PLUS so much pain it hurts while sitting doing nothing. ;)

Not to make any assumptions about what you may or may not be doing, but to pass on some good advice that honestly does make a difference - If you don't already, be sure to do warm up stretches too (YouTube is your friend) :)

You might want to try training your fretting hand to be lighter too.  We all have a tendency to use a death grip at first, lightening your touch will put less strain on everything.

If you've never set up your bass, you might also consider lowering the action too so it's less effort to fret.

Lastly, avoid playing the same song/passage over and over again.  Break it up with another song or two that moves your hand differently or rest altogether.

Again, hope that wasn't condescending, I don't know what you do or do not do, but I know I had to hear/read/be told this kind of stuff more than once. :)

Not, not condescending at all. I knew the smart thing to do was probably to take a break for a few days when the joint started getting sore, but I was worried that if I stopped for a few days, I'd run the risk of the days turning into weeks, and if that happens, it's almost certainly going to turn into months.

I definitely do tend to press down too hard, especially when I have to quickly slide my hand up or down the neck to hit a note, then I tend to mash it pretty hard. I think when I play a fast song, I probably tend to fret harder as well. That's definitely something I need to work on.

And I almost never stretch before I play; I know that I should, but I never realise I forgot to do so until after I'm done, or nearly done playing.

I had also been playing one particular song a lot the night before, because a) I had been trying to move out of my comfort zone of playing songs that were mostly or entirely played on two strings, and b ) I was trying to break myself of a bad habit that had resulted from that, which was that I would usually play one string per finger. And the worst thing about that, was that I realised early on that I was doing that, and that it couldn't have been a good thing to do, but I continued to do it anyway.

I found R.E.M.'s Überlin was a good song for for both of those things, played all three strings with one finger, and I played it over a dozen times in a row, plus spent of bunch of time in riff repeater as well. I didn't start feeling the sharp pain that night, but the next night it didn't take too long for the pain to start occurring. I guess I'll be more aware not to do that kind of thing in the future.

Thanks for the advice. :)

I really like this song. Its sounds great and its really fun to play, with all the stuff happening all the time.

Make some improvements since we last played rags and bones.  If i remember correctly this song made my hands feel like death, but this time its not that bad.

Also had to try the bass part,  I can imagine this is really hard to play on a bass.  Sadly i don't own one.

(removed the streak, i don't deserve to be on the list with emulated)

Quite a jump from beg to int.... Going to try some Fripples hitting the 9th fret on the string formally known as E and then 12th on the sting formally known as D really stretches me which would be so bad if I wasn't already dazed from working up the fret board:) Here is my score in all of its glory.

I shall try spend more time on Fripples blues but literally scraping together scraps of minutes to play a full song .

Ok, because of poor results and overall lack of skill @NoonyDeloony gets downgraded to Advanced. She would be forever remembered as shameful person... and then she'll make another charming video and we'll forget about that.

Some improvements mostly made by tightening my G string, its amazing what a difference a loose G string makes on this tune  :( well on the Rhythm and lead at least, the Bass just does what it feels like with this tuning

But I did find that all the strings need to be slightly detuned (loose) to get the best recognition.

most of it I could get through pretty easily but the hard parts I needed to work on more

fun song, not sure why this was above that one, once u get that one riff the rest of the song is fairly straightforward

Been super busy this week, I'll post why later but in the meantime let's try to grind out a decent MC score.
