You're welcome :) It's very possible to just keep all the notes rolling and just slow it down but in this instance of me being very new to slapping I needed to dumb it down and worked my way up to get the technique down. I can do the basic sections, slapped open E and the popped C, it's when the slaps change to the A string that I start fluffing up, my thumb just doesn't want to shift down and hit 1 string, I just end up thumping all four and making brow noise.   :huh:

Yep, me too.  I think it's 'cos I sit with my bass on on left thigh.  My right hand just doesn't seem to be in the right position to slap anything other than the E string.  I'm down with the pops, mostly.  :lol:

And yes, I did slap it again.  Or at least my own version of slapping, anyway.  There may have been too much popping going on.  It may be my eyesight.  I just can't distinguish between the symbols.

 

And @@Rodman, have you completely changed the bass on Ham Kummst?  It surely never used to be a slap bass fest?  I prefer the old version. :(

With Supergroove last week and now Krakatit I've had to keep switching popping finger so I have 3 tender digits!  :lol:  I predict epic callouses by the end of the week! :P

 

I gave ADV and MC second goes before spending the rest of the day with family and I did worse lol! :D

Ummmmmm.... o didn't change a single note in ham kummst ... not in the bass, nor elsewhere....

 

Just fixed 100%bug and added DD

Checking on that this evening... whatever might have happened...

Well it seems that the ladies are either 'slapping' or 'fingering', this week so I thought I'd give it a go........

 

 In conclusion I cant do either so I'm sticking with the pick and sticking to beginner and Intermediate. :P

 

My slapping sounds like shit and fingering makes me ache too much (couldn't even finish a song)

95 is my number today. Had 4 consecutive runs with 95.95%  :blink:  The Second Solo screws me up everytime... Might need some RR here.

Had a mixed evening.....did abysmally with Sorairo Days today, was way worse on a few attempts so I must have had my lucky pants on yesterday :lol:

 

Improved on Krakatit though...after several restarts from red X runs, finally...NO RED X!!!! :D

Really percussive song. Not so much about melodic things - it's more about technique and dynamics than hitting the notes. Rocksmith doesn't do a good job at rating your performance on this one.  :lol:

 

Played Sorairo Days a few more times, but only went up a little over a percent over it, so I didn't hit PrtScr yet. I'll be back after I RR that killer solo!

Honestly played slap style, I have it recorded too (sounds like crap though :lol: ) - will post my best vid at the end of the week.  Ubi's servers are down too so my score didn't even get on the in-game leaderboard :(

 

 

Any advice from more experienced bassists on how to keep your forearm relaxed when slapping?  I really do try to stay relaxed (I don't think I'm tensing up), but after a few runs my forearm feels worn out so I'm obviously not hanging loose.  Is it just a stamina thing?  Should I be going and hammering Lessons In Love for endurance training? :lol:
