How can I create these neat chord-repeat boxes?

xenomania

Question

Hello forum,

I'm trying to create my own CDLCs and have encountered a minor problem that's bugging me.

Whem I play my songs the chord boxes all look like this:

But I want them to look like the official songs and other CDLC I downloaded from here:

You know, that when you have to strum the same chord multiple times the game shows the chord box only once and then just gives you small blue bars for timing until the chord changes.

I could swear the very first of my own CDLC had it right, but then I corrected some stuff and I must have changed something in EoF and now I am at a loss.

Thanks in advance for any help!

But it looks the same no matter if I use the DDC or not (and I use the most recent version of the toolkit).

That's why I assumed it's something I did wrong in EoF.

Could it be the Fret Hand Positions?

I didn't quite understand that topic. Tried once to set them myself and got a buttload of error messages. So I just ignore the FHP message that pops up on saving and let EoF set them automatically.

@@raynebc and @@xenomania that issue is caused because of the sustain and a specific set of parameter in EOF.

If you have a short sustain on all your chord and you have a very low value in the chord density treshold, you'll get this aspect and DDC won't be able to correct it because the xml will actually have the proper density tag.

You need to either adjust the sustain or put a higher value on the chord density treshold (File=>Preferences=>Preferences or F11).

So you are using a very outdated version of EOF and i can't really help you about it...

If you want a ODLC looks on chord and handshape you would be better making chord sustain looks like this than having nothing at all :

Note that the 3D pane clearly indicate what will be repeat boxes and what won't be and it's correct 99.9999% of the time in the most recent version of EOF.

Yeah, silly me, I just realized that there is a newer version of EoF.

Although I wouldn't have considered mine very outdated as I got that one just like ten days ago from the latest EoF release thread... (maybe I forgot the hotfix, not sure about that)

But whatever!

Downloaded the new one, loaded the song, and I didn't even have to change anything in the preferences.

Now it looks as it should and everything works perfectly, even with DD.

I just started making CDLCs so I'll definitly look into chord sustains, chord shapes, FHP and everything more deeply, just one step at a time.

Thank you very much firekorn, you have made my day!

@@raynebc It was old CDLC that were repack with the latest toolkit that had this issue and from what i gathered, it was due to change in the chord density tag that caused this issue and those case just appear very frequently due to the need to fix the old CDLC for the remastered but it shouldn't be an issue on a newly created CDLC.
