RSInjector Not Loading (Just Crashes)

sclaxplayer

Question

System: Mac OSX 10.11.6

Yesterday I was playing CDLC fine through the new version of RSInjector. Today I went to launch it again and it just crashes before anything even loads. I see all my failed launches in Mac's Console.

Here's a small snippet of the error message from Console:

1) Uninstall/Reinstall RSInjector

2) Uninstall/Reinstall Rocksmith through Steam

3) Tried running Rocksmith from the "Application Specific Information" stated above by opening terminal and running "/Users/USER/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Rocksmith2014/./Rocksmith2014.app/Contents/MacOS/Rocksmith2014" but I just got a Segmentation fault:11.

Has anyone experienced this issue before? I'm not sure how I can fix this.

Thanks for any help!

All working here!!! Thanks everyone involved!

I don't think it was mentioned, but the injector is not even needed using this patching method.

- Macbook pro mid 2014

- Sierra 10.12.1

- Language English

- Rocksmith 2014 remastered (Steam)

That´s is important. RSInjector is not needed anymore for launch RS. If you try to launch RSInjector it will fail like before the patch. Just run RS from Steam or from your Applications link (it will open steam).

I did precise that you need to launch RS from steam which for me imply that using the RSinjector to launch the game is not needed as both are incompatible.

For the sake of clarity i made this a little bit more clear but i don't want to put too much information to avoid the important part to be drown into the whole post.

Here's a patching system that does what @@Angra1982 do in a more "practical" way for different cases :

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1ZKYtpB0vu2WnJWZzdtUkp6SU0

Thanks for the patch @@firekorn, I'll update the instructions.

And thanks @@Angra1982 and every one else involved for finding the solution.

It's a much more elegant solution than the RSInjector.   The Steam overlay works while playing now, and the in-game Shop is also accessible with this method.

Hi Angra1982 !! First of all thanks for the work.

I've tried your solution but is not working, I get the next log after run the RUN_PATCH_RS.command file:

My mac version is Sierra 10.12.1

Hope this will help .

cp: directory /Users/ImacDani/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Rocksmith2014/Rocksmith2014.app/Contents/MacOS does not exist

/Users/ImacDani/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Rocksmith2014/Rocksmith2014.app/Contents/MacOS/Rocksmith2014: No such file or directory

logout

Saving session...

...copying shared history...

...saving history...truncating history files...

...completed.

your RS patch is not on the default location.

search on your system where is located the steamapps folder. then go to common/Rocksmith2014/.

copy the full path and then edit the RUN_PATCH_RS.command with textedit. Replace the line "RS_PATH="/Users/$USER/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Rocksmith2014/Rocksmith2014.app/Contents/MacOS" with your correct path.

you should change the first part of the path. Then run the RUN_PATCH_RS.command again. should work.

First of all, thanks for coming up with a solution, however, I don't really understand this kind of stuff, so if someone would be able to help, I'd appreciate it.  I have my Rocksmith on an external hard drive and I think the path is Seagate Replica>MAC>Steam Library>SteamApps>common>Rocksmith2014.  How do I copy the path then edit the command in text edit?  Sorry, this is like a foreign language to me lol.  Again, thanks for the help!

chmod 755 insert_dylib

./RUN_PATCH_RS.command

next, open steam and launch RS from steam app.

I have to say none of that worked for me but I did

I've find a temporary solution , so please any mac user with troubles, read this post:

http://customsforge....injector-crash/

If they don't have time machine running, you can find the app here:

https://www.dropbox....tf12TQUP2a?dl=0

So we can continue playing since a definitive solution is found

Please notice this is the remastered rocksmith app so you will need tha last RS Injector

do this, I went to my rocksmith folder deleted the old app icon put the new one in there and it worked for me, the injector also works, only thing is, I lost my profile and progress but I can play all the cdlc so I dunno works for me now.

chmod 755 RUN_PATCH_RS.command

chmod 755 insert_dylib

./RUN_PATCH_RS.command

So, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong lol.  Anyway, thanks for being patient with me and trying to help out.  I really appreciate it!

Here's a patching system that does what @@Angra1982 do in a more "practical" way for different cases :

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1ZKYtpB0vu2WnJWZzdtUkp6SU0

1) Extract anywhere

2) Run the "RUN_PATCH_RS.command"

3) Launch Rocksmith 2014 Remastered via steam (do not use the RSinjector anymore)

4) ???

5) Profit!

Note 1 : You won't have to repatch the app unless there's a new update

Note 2 : RS should be in the standard installation path and Steam too.

Some user might encounter permission issue, here are two way to edit it :

Anyone that have issue with this please indicate :

  • MAC OS version
  • Steam path
  • How RS react to CDLC

Side note, if it works for you please indicate your MAC OS version so that we can know which version are correctly supported.

Confirmed so far :

  • 10.12
  • 10.11
  • 10.10

@@Rpzeee if i didn't mention the RSinjector, it's simply because you don't need it at all.

For everyone that have a bit of trouble i also suggest to read wepeel topic that have been updated with more full and complex instruction that will probably help some of you get it to work as intended.

This is for the last rocksmith update (with Steam). Even on yosemite, if Steam update Rocksmith, then you will need patch it.

That's awesome.  It worked.  A million thanks.  Rocking again.  One more thing...is it possible to prevent patches from being installed and still allow RS to be played.  RS is the only game I have with steam and most likely will be the only one.  Thank again :)

I've downloaded the files on your link, but there's no app there?  Sorry for being stupid, but I'm just getting files and directories within a Rocksmith2014 folder…  There's no file with a .app extension?

ou have to download it not to open it!!! You'll download a zip file that contains just the app. Anyways it seems there are new solutions over there

Confirmed working on 10.11.6

And just to clarify for people who sometimes miss little details (myself included):

After the patch DO NOT USE RSINJECTOR.  Instead launch Rocksmith directly from Steam.

That part is in the instructions posted above, but it's easy to miss that line and it screwed me up for a few mins.

Not working for me.

OS 10.7.5.

Steam path: /Users/myname/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Rocksmith2014/

DLC shows up but hangs before note way begins to scroll.

On running I'm getting the error:

...RUN_PATCH_RS.command: line 4:   292 Illegal instruction: 4  ./insert_dylib --inplace "$RS_PATH/libRSBypass.dylib" "$RS_PATH/Rocksmith2014"

I'm off to check the rest of the thread for further instruction.  :plus1:

I have a feeling it won't work for me either... on 10.6 (I believe...) but I'm under the impression that the "RSBypass.dylib" needs to be compiled for your version of OSX, which it probably isn't and why it won't work for you. Or maybe this is something to do with the paths or permissions. My Steam & Rocksmith are both on External Drives and not the default paths so that's another hurdle I'll have to hopefully overcome. RSInjector.app was able to just point to my "symlink" Rocksmith2014.app.
