Error when making Song Pack

Recommended Posts

Good day, I'm in the process of sorting out all my CDLC into song packs I've currently made 7 successful packs of about 50 to 70 songs each. All working perfectly, individual songs also work correctly in Rocksmith without error or freezing. On to my 8th pack, and cutting down on the amount of songs vs size of total pack. I can't seem to get it to pack any further. I've checked myself, it copies all the necesary files to the temp directory (Literally all of them), then throws the following error:

Packing is complete with the following errors:
startIndex cannot be larger than length of string.
Parameter name: startIndex

Would you like to open the destination path?

When I click yes, it takes me to my projects folder, but there is no pack created there. Any ideas as to what can cause this error?

Extra detail:

Pack name: CSPACK7

Pack size: 600mb (before packing)

Songs: 66 songs (no duplicates, double checked)

System:

Gigabyte Q1542 Laptop

Core i5-3210M 2.5GHz

4GB DDR3-1333 RAM

Nvidia GT640M/2GB

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

EDIT:

Okay, so finally got it to actually throw an exception log out:

One of the songs that you are trying to put into the SongPack is probably corrupt.  Use CGT to find and remove the corrupt song before attempting to make a SongPack.  Or it could be that you have a Mac CDLC mixed in with your PC CDLC.  This will also throw an error.

One other thing about SongPacks ... make sure you remove the individual songs from the 'dlc' folder after SongPacking so that you don't end up with duplicate PID issues.  Make sure you don't put the same song into multiple SongPacks.  You can use CGT to sync the 'dlc' folder to your user profile (game save) will get rid of duplicate PID game freezing/crashing issues.

Must be OS related as I can't find anything wrong with the CDLC, at the moment it's purely 2 Megadeth packs. No duplicates, all PC only. And they all work perfectly when packed individually and added to the dlc folder. Atleast I don't play Megadeth too much, was more trying to compile the pack for a friend who lives next door (he hates the technical side of things, xD). Well, I would point the problem to it being something in the Megadeth songs that makes the packs not... Well, pack. But yeah, they all work individually, on my game and on my friend's game. Thanks for the info on sorting the duplicate PID. Actually had that problem with a few Marilyn Manson and AC/DC songs but sorted them quickly. At the moment I have 16 fully working CDLC packs, of which 3 of them is Artist specific, lol

There are many issues reported with Megadeth and other songs here.

Please be aware that because you can play a CDLC that doesn't mean that it is not corrupt.  Any sort of corruption will prevent the CDLC from being used in a SongPack.  CDLC should be checked with CGT before making SongPacks.
