Not my best score, but I couldn't have too many goes, or I'd have got used to the different fret spacing, which would have been no good for Megadeth for the rest of the week. :)

Anyway, I've been so disappointed with having to stay in D standard tuning this week (my other bass for other tunings is at my mum's house - I couldn't fit it in the car to bring it back after Christmas) that I've "accidentally" bought another bass on Ebay.  Wooops!

 

I don't like retuning too often because strings are so expensive… :D

Took a little break from charting bass by ear (which is a pain, by the way!) to do some grinding on the Adv.

Once you get over all the weird unexpectedness in this song, there's actually not that much learning to do. There's a lot of dead space between riffs, and those riffs are very fast but pretty simple. I feel like I could 100% this if I tried hard enough, but I still haven't even touched the MC for this week yet, so I doubt I'll put that much effort in. Maybe another couple percent!

Hello everyone. 

 

This is my first post on these forums. I've been playing RS awhile (125 hours according to Steam).  I only started custom DLC a few days ago when I signed up.  I was just thinking.. wouldn't it be really sweet to have Dream Theater or whatever else I could think of on RS.  I am excited to have that happen here.  

 

I like the idea of a weekly challenge to actually get me to focus rather than playing a bunch of random stuff once through.  

 

Can you please put me on the list for Lead Intermediate.

Also played Bowie, but forgot to take a screenshot. Cool bassline, though, so I might revisit it to get something official.

Pretty tough on the fretting hand - I don't think I could take too much longer than the short duration of the song before my hand turns into a quivering mess. Also good practice for small, quick, precise shifts. Nice bassline!

 

 

Also, after charting and playing lots of Vektor (if you like thrash and haven't checked them out, then I question your priorities. I won't take it personally if you don't like the vocals, though) I think I should be able to handle Megadeth speed a lot better with a pick, so I'll probably try to give a go at 100% on that tomorrow or early on Saturday.
