Currently working on Don't Stand So Close To Me '86. It's looking like it should really be played on a 5 string or BEAD, but I'm going to do what I can do make it work in Drop D. Once that's done I'll look at a bonus BEAD version.

Currently working on Miss Gradenko to finish Synchronicity and One World (Not Three). Miss Gradenko will definitely appear first as the end of One World is all improvised and I'm having to chart it note by note. Cheers Sting!

Having just done Pretty Persuasion (I'm still not sure about the end of the riff in the chorus though), I feel the need for a bit more R.E.M. Might try something else off Green this weekend...

I'm currently working on "On The Beach" by Chris Rea - the "New Light Through Old Windows" version as this, in my humble opinion, is vastly superior to the original. It's also much more of a beast to tab. I've been on it for over two hours now but the end's in sight and hopefully tomorrow morning it'll be up.

Went to see this show http://www.mapletreeentertainment.com/currently-touring/Youve+Got+a+Friend+The+Music+of+James+Taylor+and+Carole+King/12/summary/ last night which was absolutely incredible. Expect some King and Taylor customs in the coming days...

Hey James!

I was downloading some fresh tunes a couple weeks back and realized that you have created a ridiculous amount of the CDLC I have enjoyed on Rocksmith - Thank you!  Please know that your work here has spread so much happiness - more than you will ever know or fully get acknowledged for!

I'm really interested in doing some customs for live-jam tracks (bass only, like you).  I read your guide to making DLC on your blog (super helpful, thank you!).

Given that there simply aren't many tabs out there for live jam band tracks, I'm going into this with the assumption that I am going to be creating these from scratch.  Would you recommend using GuitarPro still as the first step and transcribing by ear or is there another tool/process you would recommend for getting the initial GuitarPro file put together.

Thanks again for all of your hard work and contributions to this community!

Hi!

Many thanks for your kind words - that means a lot to me  :D

I'd definitely stick to the Guitar Pro/Ear route. I've tried doing it straight into EoF and that's a real ball ache. The good thing about Guitar Pro is being able to easily sync it in Go PlayAlong and it's a doddle to make any changes and add/subtract bars etc. I've been down the midi file and nicking GP/Power Tab files from Ultimate-Guitar and they're usually a disappointment. Even tabs from "authorities" on the web can have bits missing, but everyone's human. I think you'll get more satisfaction from doing everything by ear yourself. It does take longer but at the end of the day you can say it's all your work.

Have a go and if you run into any problems or have any questions, please feel free to ask - I'm more than happy to help.

Thanks James!  I also want to improve my ear training/transcription, so I'm excited for the challenge and inevitable benefits.

I'll very likely take you up on the offer to ask questions along the way.

Thanks again for all of your customs.  I was thinking about this after posting:  It'd be amazing to know how many tens of thousands of hours of enjoyment and happiness you've spread through your contributions.... and so few people will ever know you are responsible for it!

Thank you from us all!
