Tone change not working on 1 particular measure

Billkwando

Question

I'm working on a song with basically 2 tones that alternate (plus 1 for the solo) and for some reason, I just can't get a tone to stick to this one particular measure, even though the same tone works everywhere else.

I've deleted and re-added it a bunch of times, and even tried deleting it and placing it 1 note before the measure, so it's in a different position, but RS just continues to ignore that particular tone change, while all the other changes (before and after) work fine.

Here's the file if someone could take a look please. The song's basically ready for upload otherwise:

The problem is on measure 79, and the tone name is "overdrive".

Thanks! :D

I've had strange things happen with tone changes before, including problems similar to this.

I suggest:

- In EoF project delete ALL tone changes for that arrangment

- Save the EoF project (this is important, do not skip)

- Add the changes where you want them again

- Save the project again

- Open toolkit save template

- Remove all arrangements from arrangements window

- Change the DLCName field (top left, the one that does not allow spaces) to something unique like Songv2

- Pull arrangements back into toolkit

- Build the custom and try it

Sounds a bit extreme but that is what I do when I encounter tone change issues.  Also, the toolkit has some automated functions now to change the arrangement numbers, but tbh I'm not 100% what they are and the method I described above is pretty much foolproof.

Good luck :D

I ended up deleting all the tone changes, renaming the affected tone, and just reloading the 1 arrangement, and that was enough to fix it for me. Thanks! :)
