Is your PS3 modded? Can you give details as to what CFW you are running. I can help as I have had it up and running, but am now experiencing my own issues.

just install webman (or webman mod) and this will allow you to ftp into your ps3.

 

I typically use filezilla to just move files over into the appropriate directories.

I have mine configured to autoboot webman so as soon as i power on my ps3 i can ftp in.
