Rocksmith 2014 Championship Week 76

Sorry for not participating the last few weeks just been too busy. Was playing so many songs that I just couldn't keep up. I've now decided to just play the adv/MC songs so that I can have more time. Not a fan of dream theater or tuning so low so won't be playing that. I would also agree that songs over 8 minutes feel more like a chore to play so maybe a limit should be placed but then again there are a lot of great songs that we would miss out on. Tough decision for sure.

My trend continues, better first-run accuracy in the harder songs all around.  I like this song, but still think I'll stick to MC only as my focus for this week.

Still, there are even a few Metallica songs that I have a similar level of dislike for.  And I wouldn't want to write off the band entirely over those few...

There was a post a few back where the order was changed.

 

Sometimes the songs might be switched or the orders are changed up to Sunday night (8PM EST) after a few people start playing through all the songs. Is #17 in the Championship Rules.

i know i'm older than most on this site but please tell me i'm not senile already.  when i got the list of songs saturday i would swear that bass went from easiest to hardest: Pink, Helmet, Protest, Fishbone.   usually once i get the list i don't check back until i'm ready to post a score.  is this something i should be doing more frequently, or is there a certain day that things are pretty well set?

Here's my go around.  I loaded the Fishbone song and played it for about 5 seconds before realizing I couldn't even hit half the notes on bass. :)

I feel like they're close, overall all of the people who have played both on the leaderboard had done worse on Pink. Even after an hour practicing on both Pink and Helmet my scores on Pink are worse. Pink is slower but has more fret hand movement across all 4 strings especially near the end. Helmet is faster, but is only on 2 strings, and mostly just on the E (well Drop D) string.

 

Yeah, I loaded the Fishbone and nope, not yet! ;)

Also. You should try some harder class. You might be a bit to good for beginner. :P

Ye, Ik, but I've never tought that I'd enjoy playing a pop that so much, this one is really cool to play. :o (Not disrespecting pop, but I'm more into rock & metal than in pop.)

@@xDatBoiSOBLE - You had 0 and 0 bacause of lack of bars visible. We're not allowing songs with bars invisible, but I knew Nacho will fix it soon, that's why I selected that song as a replacement. Sorry for that, I just did not expected that you can be so fast with it :P

Just took a quick look in here, cause there was no time over the weekend/easter stuff, and noticed

the discussion about the long songs, and wanted to give my 2 cents.

 

For me personally, long songs are no problem in itself, although i was a bit skeptical about this weeks DT-Song

after a already 10min song of metallica last week.

I think there shouldn't be a succession of long songs after another, and, after i just (only) watched @@xDatBoiSOBLE 's video

theres alot of crazy Petrucci stuff going on, which is just impossible to learn in only one week.

 

So my suggestion would be no 10min+ songs two weeks in a row and maybe (depends on song) more than one week.

Because i can definitely say, even right now, i will fuck up that DT song hard, and theres no point in playing a song

if you cant learn it decently.

 

well, thats it for me. I hope i will post some scores later that day!

thanks punchyrumble, i'll try to remember to check back to make sure.  i agree with the pink helmut switch up.  i found helmut easier to get through, pink on the other hand i'm having to work on.  i really look forward to the day when my fingers go where i tell them, or maybe i know where to tell them quicker.

I hope that Blazi will fix Heretics. That RR bug was something that I saw 1st time, and was unaware that sth like that can happen. Heretics are 3.5 minute long, so I had good intentions :)
