Rocksmith 2014 Customs Tagger

http://s16.postimg.org/5ew2ku4yt/Icon3.png

The [TOOL] CDLC Tagger is available

Thanks to Lovroman for coding it:

http://customsforge.com/topic/20334-tool-cdlc-tagger/

--------------The Following Posts/infos were posted before the release of the Tool, they are outdated actually--------------

I think it would be useful to know if a song is a custom or not in the songlist.

I've play a little with Photoshop & been able to locate the exact tag position on the albums art.

All the others originals tags would stay untouched (RS1, DLC etc), it would apply only on the Customs, so upcoming official dlc will remains as they always are.

Very discrete (a little more longer & 2 grey arrows)

http://s7.postimg.org/6dlwbhs57/detail.jpg

Custom Tag (once the song is selected)

http://s7.postimg.org/z1yuepubf/detail2.jpg

This is not a mockup it's a screen capture, it's already possible to do it, but it would need toolkit implementation to be really interresting, (it would be implemented in the custom creation as it's a simple overlayed .png) on 128x128 & 64x64 in custom's album art).

What do you think about this,

Do you like the idea or not ?

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS TO MAKE CUSTOMS SONGS WITH CUSTOMS ALBUM ART (with your name, custom tags etc..) WE NEED TO FOUND A CONSENSUS IN ORDER TO HAVE EVERYTHING LOOKS SIMILAR & CLEAN.

We have to deal with untouchable parameters (at least for now (without further editing/deeper modifications):

- The song list tag color (Purple) & Text (DLC)

Do not hesitate to give your point of view/tastes.

& even your mockup if you want, just do not include that in a submited CDLC.

I'm thinking about a system color or symbol for visualising the available parts (Lead, Rythm, Bass, Vocal & Multitrack)

Maybe adding more arrows each arrows /1 part or a corner Tag as suggered by Wepeel.

(Useless as you already are in the playable part)

If You Want to see/try it in your game Here's the file (Test v3):

Original Post PC Plum:

http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/all-because-of-you-r2782

I've not altered the other contents of this custom, it was random choosen all rights belongs to PC Plum.

I think this is a great idea!

In fact, I had been thinking about making a post to see if anybody thought it was possible to do.

I have a ton of official DLC and several hundred customs, so I frequently forget which are which.  I was hoping somebody could come up with something like this to help distinguish the customs.

Any thoughts on a tag that's a little less subtle?  Maybe the custom tag down on the bottom right corner so it's visible all the time?

I think a Custom grey or a CDLC grey would be better than the very discrete one in the song list. But this is just my humble opinion.

Otherwiser this idea is Amazing. Can't wait for it

Take a look at my Workshop. You'll find which song I plan to create someday.

Please leave constructive feedback, it helps me creating better customs !

Please don't thanks with comment but with the button !

+1 on the idea. Automated integration into the toolkit would be nice.

Can you post a non-zoomed version of the first screenshot? I'd like to see how well it is distinguishable in full screen!

Check out my easy tutorial on how to add a metronome to your CDLC: Mute the original music, play only with the metronome and find out how good you really sound! Also: Find CDLCs that have the metronome enabled!

Want a USB-Footswitch that you can use to control the tone selection and all the menus in Rocksmith? Check out Rodman's Tutorial and my additions to that!  Footswitch_Logo.png

My CDLCs: Devin Townsend - Life, Deep Peace, Ih-Ah!, Deadhead; Farin Urlaub - Ok

My ideas for new features in Ignition, e.g. filters for Multitrack CDLC and Metronome CDLC.

Yes, As we've got great/amazing charters "now" it's difficult to make a difference with official songs.

DL link added to see it in "real".

The actually used (Greys) colors on v3 are just to try the overall process (it's not definitive will probably need more contrast).

So, if the background color can be changed. Just make it a retina burning yellow or lime green. That way customs are easily distinguished instantly. Just a thought. Great idea BTW.

"It seems enough useless info lrbv" i didn't understand why useless, but after i've realise why;

As you select your Lead, Rythm, or bass part before accessing the playlist, yes this kind of indications are no more necessary.

For the colors i'm still brainstorming as we have to keep the purple (embedded Game file).

@, @@Frack, It's not useless information, it lets you know at a glance what parts are available and whether you should bother to switch roles. It could be even more useful too if it had an indication of bonus tracks (e.g. there could be more than one lead option).

The only hurdle is making it look nice.

Test v4:

http://s10.postimg.org/dakvzk3d5/Cust_dark_transp_grad.jpg

http://s10.postimg.org/dbutsz56x/DLC_dark_transp_grad.jpg

It's dark transparent gradient (let see the album under) white is easy to spot (even on white)

I think it's a serious option.

@ Tron001 i've play with gold but nothing great & easy to spot was realised.

V5:

http://s22.postimg.org/oyo68yz8h/Cust_yellow_grad.jpg

http://s22.postimg.org/qezor425d/DLC_yellow_grad.jpg

It's Yellow transparent gradient (Attitude suggestion).

V6:

http://s30.postimg.org/dil0w2mtd/Cust_yellow_red_grad.jpg

http://s30.postimg.org/6tehg21hd/DLC_yellow_red_grad.jpg

It's Yellow transparent gradient (Attitude suggestion) & red arrow.

@@ForgeOn It's always possible to add functions with arrows colors:

Everybody knows the RS strings order:

1 Red, 2 Yellow, 3 Blue, 4 Orange, 5 Green & 6 Purple.

The difficulty of the Differents parts:

1 Lead

2 Rythm

3 Bass

4 Vocal

5 Bonus (another lead or merged with rythm)

6 Multitrack

So if there's arrow

Red : Lead

Yellow : Rythm

Blue : Bass

etc..

Why color instead of letters ?

I think it takes too much space on the album arts. (i would like to keep them as visible/clean as possible).

Or maybe instead of "CUSTOM"  indicate  LRBVBM, with the same font it won't be too bad, (but you'll have to select the song before seeing the infos).

When i play RS i used to play songs with the same tuning & in the same part /day.

I like both the new yellow and black/white designs.

Also I do like the idea to indicate the presence of a bonus arrangement on the cover! I can imagine I am missing a lot of those at the moment because I don't know they exist.

But I do not think vocals need in indicator. While I care much for vocals and missing vocals always make me sad, they don't affect the gameplay.

A Multitrack indicator would be nice. But in order to really make sense, you would need different indicators for "No Lead", "No Rhythm" and "No Bass" multitrack versions.

I can't decide for Lead, Rhythm and Bass. On the one hand it is always frustrating to go "Nice song! Now let me check out the Rhythm path..." *15 seconds later, only for pressing CTRL, ARROWS and ESC* ... "No Rhythm? Screw you!" *and change path again*.

On the other hand, I'm afraid this is too much information to be coded in colours for everyone to understand / memorize, and / or too much cluttering of the cover.

Check out my easy tutorial on how to add a metronome to your CDLC: Mute the original music, play only with the metronome and find out how good you really sound! Also: Find CDLCs that have the metronome enabled!

@@Frack "Yellow", it was not mine suggestion, seems i was @Atttitude :)

Damn, thanks, sorry.

Yes, Attitude suggestion.

"Not bad. Could be cool a customised figurative small logo?"

For now everything is hidden behind the purple tag

if you refer to this one:

http://image.jeuxvideo.com/images/wi/r/o/rock-band-3-wii-001_m.jpg

It's RB & Band Fuse copyrighted.

We could probably do a similar thing, but don't this or another logo overload the cover at the end ?

Something new & cool now won't stay after a short time, because displayed on each of your custom & will quickly become boring/indesirable (just my opinion).

RS uses a zoom system in the library (basic 2 Album Cover sizes), so it's possible to do a different modification on the "big (128x128)" & on the "little (96x96) tagged Purple DLC" Album Cover (i work/display the same size for convenience (just add a layer on top in Photoshop).

@@Frack RR. Seems b&w more good, because it suitable for all types of color album arts and look nice.

And there was suggestion mark, cdlc with bonus part, would be very helpful.

All another marks,  like color, seems complicated and not clear for understanding. Indicators for multitracks so useless. because all multitracks now, enough clear marked in text like (No Bass....)

If about colors of marks,  more clear that lead -orange,  rhythm - green, and bass blue color - standard for RS.  If to make color of lines thin, like white line in b&w version,  seems it will good look without overload arts extra colors. May be if in cdlc, an example, is bonus lead, mark it as double thin lines orange, ">>".

There example made in paint where is BL+L+R+B  :) And there would be good change "DLC" to "CDLC".

I agree B& W seems the best choice (even if esthetically everybody will have a different choice, question of taste).

Standard for RS ? If it's the case it's ok,

just seen those color in ignition (still in beta (so still can change)).

"And there would be good change "DLC" to "CDLC".

We cannot actually as the purple area & text is imposed by Rocksmith.

about colors i like your idea of separating the purple & the "color code".

actually the uploaded pictures are 2x bigger than the ones used in the game,

so anything too little won't even been seen in game (but we could use 3 times bigger arrows).

What about V4 (Text 2): plain text

in this example this song contains

Lead, Rythm, Bass, Vocal, Bonus (another lead or merged with rythm) & is Multitrack.

Just for purpose, I'll play with Photoshop to see if i can do something good & uncopyrighted (logo in the RB spirit).

Plain text, look like amateur work, no design. :)

Logo may be too look  good, especially if it  your work,  not there not enough space for all info, like 3(LRB),  4 (BL L R B) or 5(BL L BR R B) or 6 (BL L BR R BB B) logo it a lot for small place. Seems look like Christmas garland of logos :)

@ : The blue is hard to see. Also, how does it look if you put lyrics last?

Might be easier to see everything with no space between the arrows or black/white/grey solid color between the arrows.

It looks like the arrows are currently semi transparent, I wouldn't mind the slight loss of view of the cover art to make them opaque if it otherwise still looks good.

Just some thoughts!
Overall the progress on this looks fantastic!
