The INXS song is a solid beginner song, one that's both pretty well known and fun to play. (And my pick so thanks!) I agree it's nice to have a little easier one now and then and hope a few more people show up this week and play in the the beginner class! Most of my scores so far on this have been in the mid 80s, but I think I can step it up. Amorphis is awesome, will be a fun rhythm! I love to play Amorphis even if it's beyond my skill level, something to aspire to and practice on!

 

INXS song - I knew the riff, didn't know the song. I think it will be refreshing for Beginners to play something not difficult.

 

Ska-P. Well, I neither like ska nor reagge, so it's not fun for me.

 

Beginner Rhythm - 99.58%, 272 streak

I waited some time for RNG to select this song, though I think it's not as fun as previous Amorphis song we played. Again it's only lead being challange.

It's Really You! (Lead IM) : This sightread was a little tricky to play off the cuff, but I figured out that eighths riff by the end. I'll probably do this one again and patch it up later.

First tries (basically) on all the songs:

 

Beg Bass:  Need You Tonight - INXS

Downloaded this one a while back and had 2 plays on it already.  So I went straight to SA, got this for a submittable score.

 

Good fit for beginner.  Frethand stays pretty close to fixed at one location, predictable pattern of notes -- good for true beginners.  Still harder than Black Magic though.  :)

Difficulty: 2

 

 

Int Bass: Sky is Mine - Amorphis

Nice song, and D standard actually behaved quite well for me this time.  Should have had the 100%, but I was trying to transcribe some of the open notes to 5th frets down a string on the fly and brain farted in a couple sections.  At least for my playing style, I think it would be easier/cleaner to play with a lot of those rapid-fire open notes transcribed down a string so they can be muted a bit more readily at the transitions.  But I think I can do that mentally on the fly with a slight bit more practice.

 

Nice manageable step up in difficulty from the other song and again perfect for Intermediate I think.  Slight bit more shifting and a bit more speed = good, relatively easy intermediate song.

Difficulty: 4

 

 

Adv Bass: Ca (C'est Vraiment Toi) - Telephone

I found the vocals pretty annoying, but the bass part was really growing on me and getting to be a lot of fun by the end.  I was struggling quite a bit to sight-read it at full speed at first, but got better as the song went along.  Probably going to have to try a few more times; maybe the vocals will grow on me also.

 

Lot of quick shifting and string skipping that has to be quick and precise, so gotta be pretty familiar with your fretboard spacing.  Not TOO fast tempo wise, but quick enough.  Felt like a decent fit but tough Advanced song to me, but with a few more plays it might feel easier.

Difficulty: 8 (but I reserve the right to back off on / adjust that later)

 

 

MC Bass: Tio Sam - Ska-P

Como Me Pongo last week grabbed me straight away better than this song also by Ska-P, but this ain't bad either.  Was easier for me to get going up to decent accuracy in this than the Advanced song, but I think this one will possibly remain a bit tougher after practice while the Telephone song feels like it might get significantly easier in just a few more plays.

 

Difficulty felt pretty comparable to the Advanced song, for a lot of the same reasons.  But I will probably have more complete thoughts on both of these songs after a few more plays each.

Difficulty: 8 (again just a first impression, will probably adjust)

Your welcome @@Rodman, I always do that and it takes no time at all to upload the file and post the link to it :)

 

I didn't create a NDD version of "Sky is Mine" because the DD was created using DDC v1.5.

Although DDC v2.5 (current version) is able to remove DD created by DDC v1.5 and below, it doesn't work 100% all the time and what usually happens is that notes are missing in the NDD version.

Despite that, I imported the package and removed the DD from the XML files, but when comparing the number of notes on the XML with DD and the one without it, I noticed some discrepancies, so I decided not to create the NDD version.

 

So, when I don't post a NDD version of a custom with DD, it's because the usual method I use doesn't work properly.

If anyone know another way to get around this issue, just PM me with the info, I would like to know if there is that possibility, since this isn't the 1st custom that I've come across with the same situation and I've never been able to properly create a NDD version from customs with DD created by DDC v1.5 and below.

P.S.: I almost forgot.... you were totally right about the bass, it's unbelievable, I was able to tune to D standard and the note recognition was perfect, the strings didn't even looked like the bass was with a low tuning (no "spaghetti effect" like it happens with my guitar), I LOVE this bass, thanks to all of you once again, I never thought I would enjoy so much to play with a real bass. :D

Yeah another thanks for the NDD - should´ve used one last week for the one eyed pizza... was kicked out 5 out of 6 tries.... and leveled down in las constantly... They have to add an option:

No auto leveling (up and down).... not gonna happen...

 

For the bass - as we for some strange reason have the exact same one - yeah it´s great.

My lil brother who is a bass player for 15 years gives it a 9.5 out of 10 - i just bougt mine cause of @ ´s propaganda and when i handed it to him to check it out he was really amazed about build quality and pickup sound (which he said is usually terrible if you look at the lower price ranged instruments).

However - could not be happier.

Accidently got a second bass right after the one above, this weekend i found time to set it up, did everything propperly, felt good in the first place - BUT  .... if you check my early posts this we you might agree this one is now dedicated for two player games - and i am not gonna be the one holding it :) :rolleyes:

Nice and easy, classic track from my teens :) rank 1 to 2 depending on how your muscle memory is, despite the repetition one thing as a beginner that I remember was finding my fingers wouldn't go where they were supposed to go, despite my brain telling them :) a good pace to work the dexterity too.

Well I guess I got forced into using a plectrum! It was fun :) I love Amorphis though I don't own any of their music, but a blummin' good track to introduce someone to the plectrum who maybe like me, has an aversion to equipping them and applying them to the strings without pinging it across the room. Could be classed as a high grade beginner song but I'd say low intermediate, 3. I think I dids' quite well :) given it was my first proper play through the whole track with a plec'.

 

No time for the others today but the son #1 is back at school next week which means more practice time for me :)

There my new experiment :)

So as latency RS impossible eliminate. I did next:

A. In mixer RS volume guitar setup no "0"

B. Did connections:

Where  

1 Guitar connected to Di-Box (INPUT).

2. One parallel (PAR.OUT) out from Di-Box connect to  AMT SS-20 tube preamp (have high gain, cranch and clean)

2.1 Out AMT connect to sound card ESI u46XL (support ASIO) in HI-Z in

3. Second out Di-Box (balanced) (OUTPUT) connect to MXR Super Compressor

3.1 Out MXR connect to RS cable.

4. Out Realtek  sound card (on board chip) (RS default audio out) connect to ESI sound card

5. In program Sonar make project where mix all (RS signal and real guitar signal) in one and out from this sound card (headphone and speaker)

Of course in Sonar i`m used plugin Guitar Rig with speaker simulation and reverberation and other effect for guitar signal. Yet,  knobs  controllers midi keyboard (Novation 49SL MKII) tuned for control parameters of components in Guitar Rig.

 

So i got summary latency guitar signal 6 ms and perfect sound. As bonus porssible little filtered bass in real time from RS sound (song), and  it will sounds like multitrack. One bad it have not autotone :)I`m  using foot switchers at AMT and pedal sustain from midi keyboard.

May be it will be useful for anyone.
