Welcome to the Led Zeppelin discography thread (v2.0   :))!

The main purposes of this thread will be:

1). Keep everyone up to date on the status of the project
2). General Led Zeppelin discussion (because it's important :D)
3). Create an environment where all Zepheads are appreciated.

I'll be going through the discography in chronological order, so if there's a particular song that you're anxiously awaiting, I will eventually get to it.

*Important Notice*

At some point midway through the Presence album (as I recall) I started using the "photo negatives" of the album art that you see above. This represents two things:

1) the CDLC uses the newly remastered audio, as this the album art that has been used for those commercial releases.

2) that the CDLC has been made to the best of my current abilities, regarding both audio fidelity and overall quality, and will likely not receive any future updates.

In the coming weeks/months, I will be going through the
catalog once more, in order to fix and improve a few things in some of the earlier Zeppelin CDLCs. Most of them were made over 2 years ago, and frankly, my standards for quality have improved quite a bit since then. There is no specific timeline for this, but as I sign off on each custom, I'll be placing a * symbol next to the song name in the above list. This symbol will indicate that the two qualities listed above are present in the CDLC.

If you haven't already, you may want to make sure that you've added your favorite songs to your collection (the ignition search function) so that you're notified when updates are made.

YEEEEEEEAAAAAH.

Let's be honest though, we're all here for the same reason.

Getting some of that sweet All My Love action.

Haha really? I mean, it's a decent song (it's hated by some Zep purists), but there's sooo many better ones throughout Houses of the Holy and Physical Graffiti IMHO...

Explain yourself! :D

Ha! I should have noticed the sarcasm.I hope you don't mind that I've hyperlinked to your profile and Zep customs in the OP (except for the one you haven't migrated over yet *cough*). If you're not cool with it, just let me know - no harm done.

'Course I don't mind. I'm gonna post SIBLY (I just like using that acronym) in a bit, just fixing some bends and stuff  :P .

I think he's still working on IV if it's going chronologically.  HotH is my favorite Zep album.  I would make an attempt at The Ocean, but the level of my work is nothing like his.

Yep, I'm going in chronological order. I've got The Battle of Evermore all set, including the mandolin (arranged for guitar) part. Will post that in a bit.If I didn't go in chronological order, I might not have the discipline to actually get to everything.Houses of the Holy is my favorite too, and The Ocean is right up there. That one is going to be fun!

The Battle of Evermore is now done, and I've got the guitar completed on Misty Mountain Hop thus far. Here's a cool little clip from "It Might Get Loud" with JP play the Battle of Evermore on the Mandolin:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xfy9W9my_w

  • 2 weeks later...

I guess, I won't be able to finish the "Rain Song" in time, so just have a go at it. I haven't worked on it since our last discussion on that topic, so I don't even have anything else than a Go Play Along xml. I'll just be glad to see it in RS and there's no one I trust more to do a bang on job than you. ;)

Aww thanks man! Good timing on your part, since I couldn't exactly remember where we left off.I love The Rain Song too, so hopefully I'll be able to do it justice. If I'm feeling ambitious, I might add the standard tuning (live) arrangement as a rhythm or bonus track. That's assuming it can be played along with the studio version...

I guess the standard tuning arrangement will be a lot harder to play and it probably won't sound exactly like the record but it may work. Still, playing it with Page's custom tuning should be the way to go and it's not even that difficult. When I started preparing the song I practiced some of the main phrases and could play them fairly quickly, so I guess everyone else should have no difficulties with that. :)

Definitely. It was one of the first songs I ever learned to play end to end, albeit somewhat poorly.I would only add the standard tuning arrangement if it worked properly with the studio version. I suspect you're right about it "almost" working, though.

hoping the song remains the same is soon to show up!. You have done an awesome job.

Thanks man! It's almost done. It's just taking a while, since I'm having to manually chart a lot of it. I just have to finish about ahlf of the rhythm arrangement. The GP files I've been able to find have been mostly wrong, which is almost the norm for Zeppelin stuff....

I just wanted to thank you for all the Zeppelin and your hard work.  Being a bassist Zeppelin is some of the best stuff out there. Bonham and Jones had chemistry like no others IMO. I'm looking forward to the rest. Thanks again. Just wish I could play it all but that will come in time.

It's good to know that everyone I idolize at one time or another in their career was where I am right now.
