  1. Work In Progress (CDLC links coming soon) http://i66.tinypic.com/dqn3sz.png Oasis were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1991. Developed from an earlier group, the Rain, the band originally consisted of Liam Gallagher (vocals and tambourine), Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs (guitar), Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan (bass guitar), and Tony McCarroll (drums, percussion). They were later joined by Liam's older brother Noel Gallagher (lead guitar and vocals) as a fifth member, becoming the band's settled line-up until April 1995. Oasis signed to independent record label Creation Records in 1993 and released their record-setting debut album Definitely Maybe (1994). The following year the band recorded (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (1995) with drummer Alan White, in the midst of a chart rivalry with Britpop peers Blur. Along with Suede, Pulp, Blur and others, Oasis came to be regarded as one of the major bands of the Britpop movement and the Gallagher brothers were featured regularly in tabloid newspapers for their sibling disputes and wild lifestyles. In 1997 Oasis released their third album, Be Here Now (1997), and although it was the fastest-selling album in UK chart history, the album's popularity tapered off quickly, but not before selling 8 million copies. McGuigan and Arthurs left Oasis in 1999 as the band released Standing on the Shoulder of Giants (2000). After their departures, they were replaced by former Heavy Stereo guitarist/frontman Gem Archer and former Ride guitarist/frontman Andy Bell. Their fifth studio album Heathen Chemistry was released in 2002. In 2004 drummer Alan White left the band leaving them as a four-piece with addition of the Who drummer Zak Starkey as recording and touring unofficial fifth member and found renewed success and popularity with Don't Believe the Truth (2005). Following the recording of the band's seventh album Dig Out Your Soul in May 2008, after being made official member duiring sessions, Starkey departed the band and with Chris Sharrock as touring member, Oasis did their last tour as a collective band. During the tour the brothers' increasingly deteriorating relationship ultimately led to Noel Gallagher announcing in August 2009 that he would be leaving the band after a backstage altercation with Liam before a festival appearance. The band, comprising the remaining members of Oasis and led by Liam Gallagher, decided to continue working together under the name Beady Eye until breaking up in 2014, while Noel went on to form his solo project Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. As well as singing in Mancunian accents and references to British culture in their lyrics, Oasis were influenced by British guitar bands from the past. They have had eight UK number-one singles and eight UK number-one albums, and won seventeen NME Awards, nine Q Awards, four MTV Europe Music Awards and six Brit Awards, including one in 2007 for Outstanding Contribution to Music and one for the Best Album of the Last 30 Years as voted by BBC Radio 2 listeners; they have been nominated for three Grammy Awards. As of 2009 Oasis have sold over 70 million records worldwide. The band were listed in the Guinness World Records book in 2010 for "Longest Top 10 UK Chart Run by a Group" after an unprecedented run of 22 top 10 hits in the UK. The band also holds the Guinness World Record for being the most successful act in the UK between the years 1995 and 2005, spending 765 weeks in the top 75 singles and albums charts Definitely Maybehttp://i64.tinypic.com/mtqfyg.jpg Released 29 August 1994 Recorded December 1993 – April 1994 Definitely Maybe was an immediate commercial and critical success in the UK, having followed on the heels of singles "Supersonic", "Shakermaker" and "Live Forever". It is their only full album to feature original drummer Tony McCarroll. Definitely Maybe went straight to number one in the UK Albums Chart on initial release. It was the fastest selling debut album of all time in the UK when it was released and went on to be certified 7× Platinum (2.1 million+ sales) by the BPI. Definitely Maybe marked the beginning of Oasis' success in America, selling over one million copies there, despite only peaking at 58 on the Billboard 200. The album went on to sell over 8 million copies worldwide and brought widespread critical acclaim. The album helped to spur a revitalisation in British pop music in the nineties and was embraced by critics for its optimistic themes and supposed rejection of grunge music of the time. Definitely Maybe is regarded as a seminal record of the Britpop scene, and has appeared in many publications' 'best of' lists. The album is also popular among audiences: in June 2006, NME magazine conducted a readers' poll in which it was voted the greatest album of all time. It was produced by Owen Morris and the group's guitarist Noel Gallagher. The structure and arrangement style of the album were a significant departure from the group's previous record Definitely Maybe. Gallagher's compositions were more focused in balladry and placed more emphasis on huge choruses, with the string arrangements and more varied instrumentation on the record contrasting with the rawness of the group's debut album. (What's the Story) Morning Glory? was the group's first album with drummer Alan White, who replaced Tony McCarroll. The record propelled Oasis from being a crossover indie act to a worldwide rock phenomenon, and according to various critics, was a significant record in the timeline of British indie music. The band's most commercially successful release, (What's the Story) Morning Glory? sold a record-breaking 347,000 copies in its first week on sale, spent 10 weeks at number one on the UK Albums Chart, and reached number four in the US Billboard 200. Singles from the album were successful in Britain, America and Australia: "Some Might Say" and "Don't Look Back in Anger" reached number one in the UK; "Champagne Supernova" and "Wonderwall" reached number one on the US Modern Rock Tracks chart, with "Wonderwall" also topping the Australian and New Zealand singles charts. Although a commercial smash, the record received initially lukewarm reviews from mainstream music critics; many contemporary reviewers deemed it inferior to Definitely Maybe, with the songwriting and production particular points of criticism. In the ensuing years, however, critical opinion towards the album reversed, and it is now generally considered a seminal record of both the Britpop era, and the 1990s in general. Over several months in 1995 and 1996, the band performed an extensive world tour in support of the album. The most notable of the concerts were two Knebworth House performances in August to a combined crowd of 250,000 people. At the 1996 Brit Awards, the album won Best British Album. At the 2010 Brit Awards, (What's the Story) Morning Glory? was named the greatest British album since 1980. It has sold over 22 million copies worldwide, and appears on several lists of the greatest albums in rock music. As of July 2016, it is the UK's fifth best-selling album of all time, having sold over 4.7 million copies. Oasis' management company, Ignition, were aware of the dangers of overexposure, and before release sought to control the media's access to the album. The campaign included limiting pre-release radio airplay and forcing journalists to sign gag orders. The tactics resulted in the alienation of both the press and many industry personnel connected with the band, and fueled large-scale speculation and wide publicity within the British music scene. On the first day of release, Be Here Now sold over 424,000 copies, becoming the fastest-selling album in British chart history, while initial reviews were overwhelmingly positive. Retrospectively, however, the album is viewed by many music journalists and fans and by most members of the band as over-indulgent and bloated. Q magazine, which gave the album a five-star review on its release, admitted in 2007 that Be Here Now is often thought of as "a disastrous, overblown folly—the moment when Oasis, their judgement clouded by drugs and blanket adulation, ran aground on their own sky-high self-belief." The album's producer Owen Morris said the recording sessions were marred by arguments and drug abuse, and that the band's only motivations were commercial. As of 2008, the album had sold eight million copies worldwide. It was released on 3 November 1998. The album was originally intended for release only in areas such as the United States and Japan, where the tracks were only available on expensive European import singles. The Masterplan reached number 2 in the UK where it went platinum, and number 51 in the United States. However, it did reach the Top 20 in various charts around the world, going on to sell at least 3 million copies. Four songs from the album appear on the 2006 compilation album Stop the Clocks. This is the last album of Oasis to be released under the Creation label. Standing on the Shoulder of Giants has been certified double platinum by the British Phonographic Industry[1] and has sold around 208,000 copies in the US.[2][3] In 1999, the year preceding the final release of this album, Alan McGee closed Creation Records and Oasis had lost two founding members (Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs and Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan) and hired new producer Mark "Spike" Stent to replace Owen Morris. The album is a modern psychedelic record complete with drum loops, samples, electric sitar, mellotron, synthesizers and backward guitars, resulting in an album more experimental with electronica and heavy psychedelic rock influences. Songs such as "Go Let It Out", the Indian-influenced "Who Feels Love?", and the progressive "Gas Panic!" were a departure from the band's earlier style. It debuted at No. 5 in the UK charts with 57,000 copies sold in the first week. To date Familiar to Millions has sold around 310,000 copies in Britain alone (Platinum), about 70,000 copies in the U.S. and an estimated 1 million copies worldwide. The album was initially released simultaneously on six formats: DVD, VHS, double CD, double cassette, triple vinyl, and double MiniDisc. Fuckin' In The Bushes Go Let It Out Who Feels Love? Heathen Chemistry is notable for being the first Oasis album recorded with guitarist Gem Archer and bassist Andy Bell, who both joined the band after work on previous album Standing on the Shoulder of Giants had been completed. It would also prove to be last album to feature the band's longtime drummer, Alan White, who left in early 2004, with Noel Gallagher claiming White's commitment to the band was not adequate. He was effectively replaced with Ringo Starr's son, Zak Starkey. The album was released to generally mixed reviews from critics. The name "Heathen Chemistry" was taken from a second hand T-shirt that Noel had stumbled across. The album has sold 4.5 million copies. The album entered the US charts at number 12, with 65,000 copies sold in the first week, the highest any Oasis album had reached there since 1997's Be Here Now, although its chart stay was brief. Don't Believe the Truth went triple platinum in the UK in the first week of 2006 (900,000+ sales), and in the US has sold more than 200,000 copies. Every member of the band contributed to the writing of tracks for the album, and the album is the first where all duties were divided between the band members. On some of the tracks regular bass player Andy Bell handled guitar, while Gem Archer and Noel Gallagher contributed bass to other songs. Don't Believe the Truth is the first Oasis record to feature the drumming of Zak Starkey who, while not an official member of Oasis, performed and toured with them following the departure of longtime drummer Alan White. The album received positive reviews from critics and many cited it as Oasis's best album in a decade. Liam Gallagher also had a larger impact on the album by his developing songwriting. Noel has said that this album is his favourite of Oasis' last four, because all members have contributed to it. This, he claims, has given it a different feel from a typically Noel-written Oasis album. The band embarked on a massive worldwide tour that started off at the London Astoria for their Don't Believe the Truth Tour, visiting 26 countries and playing to 3.2 million people at a total of 113 concerts. This resulted in the making of Lord Don't Slow Me Down, a film later released on DVD. To date the album has sold more than 7 million copies worldwide. The album spawned three singles. The first single, "The Shock of the Lightning", was released shortly before the release of the album, on 29 September 2008. In promotion of the album, the band embarked on a world tour, debuting in Seattle at the WaMu Theater, and continuing for eighteen months. In 2009, the tour concluded (due to Noel Gallagher quitting the band) with major dates at some of the UK's biggest stadiums, notably the new Wembley Stadium, Sunderland's Stadium of Light and Edinburgh's Murrayfield. They also performed three hometown shows at Manchester's Heaton Park. 2. jamtrackcentral.com is a website that not only offers jam tracks but also lead guitar recordings by an expanding roster of high profile guitarists. A lot of the material seems to be improvised by the players on the spot but there's certainly a few artists who also prepare some building blocks before actually recording their material. Either way, these tracks are a great opportunity to learn from fantastic guitar players around the world and to improve your lead guitar playing and soloing skills. Most of the material is suited for intermediate to advanced players but a handful of artists also offer tracks for novices. This thread will be a place to collect all tracks on CF that are available from JTC and can also serve as a platform for discussion about everything related to the website and their artists, as well as coordinating a possible JTC custom creation project. One of the things that I'm not sure about listing yet, is those JTC releases that present albums of their artists with full or partial transcriptions (like the ones that are already available from Guthrie Govan, i.e.), because they were not specifically produced for JTC and are not intended as learning material. It seems more reasonable to treat those as regular releases but I'm willing to discuss this. The list will be ordered alphabetically by the artists last name and also contain the name of the pack it belongs to, as well as the genre and difficulty information one can find on the website. It's split into three categories: tracks that are already released on CF and can be downloaded; tracks that are already in the process of being made into customs; tracks that are only planned and therefore reserved by a specific charter. Released will have links to the database entries and the name of the charter; WIP and Planned will also have the charters name, so all projects can be immediately associated with the appropriate person. 5. I'm currently in the progress of creating a Ramblin' Man CDLC. I was very surprised to see that no-one had done this before, as it is a vital song to the Allman Brothers collection, and a rock classic. The Lead 1 Guitar is for the most part done, as well as the Vocals. Researched what gear Dickey used, and I've come somewhat close to the amp for the 1st and the 2nd solo. The Vocals match up great, but I've had to make adjustments, and some notes are cut very short as i only use 2 hours on it. As this is my first project, and I have little to none experience with EoF, creating this will be a learning process, and hopefully it will pay out in the end. Had some trouble with the BPM for the song, as nothing would match, only by lowering it dramatically. Manually went over every single note, with 100% volume, and 25% playback speed to make sure it is all where it's supposed to be. Can upload a version 0.4 here if asked upon. Other than that, i will release the CDLC with the Lead part to begin with, and upon release i will finish the Rhythm and Bass. Fun fact: I had no idea the song used FOUR guitars when i started this, so it only made it a lot tricker! Having some trouble with the Amplifier sounds, as to where it starts etc. So help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Prins Geryha.

  7. I've noticed a lack of psychedelic rock songs/bands. Like The Flaming Lips, Tame Impala, Grateful Dead, Temples, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, etc. If anyone wants to collab on some songs or artists I'd love to see some more groovy/trippy tunes in the games and I'd do my best to help. Thanks.
  8. I'd probably place myself a bit above a beginner, maybe the beginning of intermediate in terms of lead guitar skill. I don't mind playing songs that are harder as long as it is actually playable (NOT Devil Went Down to Georiga). I was just wondering what some people's favorite DLC's are here? Personal preferences: - Breaking Benjamin - Killswitch Engage - Bullet for my Valentine - Metallica - Five Finger Death Punch - Avenged Sevenfold (although can get very hard very quick) - TOOL <3 (I have most of these, can play most 85% or better.)
  9. This is a huge genre, so I'll be sure to miss some bands. To start with, I'm just going to post some of the bands that have highly rated albums on progarchives and rateyourmusic. If there are any that you feel deserve to be here, let me know and I'll update the list. If you have any suggestions on how to group things, they'd be appreciated. 14. This is a longshot, but if you find yourself in Toronto on Sunday March the 8th and want to see some great young bands play come by the Duke. The Duke is at 1225 Queen St. E (Queen and Leslie), easily accessible by street car. A very close friend of mine had a heart attack late last month and is still in hospital. Since he's not going to be able to work, I'm organizing a benefit concert for him. We have 2 bands playing - 9 Lives and Counting - great hard rock and Reverse Grip - a band that proudly wears the GNR influence. The show starts at 730. There's a $10 Cover charge, Pints and Bar Drinks are $5 and we will be having a 50/50 draw and raffles for prizes like music lessons, coffee at Toronto's best coffee shop - Tango Palace - theres a dinner for 2 price. If you're around come check it out. you can check out the event page at https://www.facebook.com/events/756388371105451/?ref_dashboard_filter=upcoming 9 Lives and Counting can be heard at http://www.reverbnation.com/ninelivesandcounting Reverse Grip at http://reversegriprock.com/

  17. Since there doesn't seem to be almost any AC, and I do own every album all the way back to DaDa. I'll start putting up tracks as I can.
  18. Hey guys, If you haven't figured it out by now, then let me tell you that I'm an avid music collector, always looking for great obscure records from earlier periods (especially the 60's and 70's) and also ones that are rather well known but escaped my keen senses for the longest time somehow. I love all that stuff because it lets me (re)discover the roots of my favorites genres and therefore broaden my musical horizon further and further. The reason for my post however is the fact, that I've long been keeping an extended playlist of all my favorites tracks from the 60's up to the 90's in my iTunes database, primarily including obscure tracks but also quite a few "deepish" cuts from better known bands of that time frame to spice things up, and that the time has now come to share it with you all. That's why I transferred my internal playlist to 8tracks, so that everyone could have access to it and get a taste of what music I listen to and enjoy on a daily basis. Along the way I hope you will too and maybe it'll change your perspective of something that you thought you already had a firm grasp on. It happened to me, so I doubt it won't happen to you too if you just listen close enough http://www.customrock.net/Forum/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif Some notes regarding the song choices: There's a lot of progressive rock in that list but not much metal and most of it is somehow related to rock, but from time there's some straight up folk, country or jazz tracks mixed in. Also, the playlist isn't finished and I will update it from time to time with new tracks, so maybe give it another spin after a few weeks or so. http://www.customrock.net/Forum/images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif So, without further ado, here it is: Kaleidoscope Of Sounds Let me know, if you discover any great tracks and which ones you like the most. I'll be happy to share any infos regarding the songs and I'll happily discuss anything related to my vast musical database, but foremost I hope that you'll enjoy listening to this. It took a long time making that list and there should be enough diversity here to satisfy everyones curiosity; you made need to skip some tracks then, but I sincerely hope that won't be necessary. http://www.customrock.net/Forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif Current Tracklist:(* means that something is especially awesome; in my personal opinion of course) *Very Nice Of You To Call 3:39 Aardvark - Aardvark (1970)Theme For A Dream 5:38Agnes Strange - Theme For A Dream (1974)*Am And So Are You 3:34 Affinity - Affinity (1970)*Magic In My Socks 3:57Al Kooper - You Never Know Who Your Friends Are (1969)(If Paradise Is) Half As Nice - Stereo 2:49Amen Corner - If Paradice Was Half As Nice - The Immediate Anthology (2000)*Sandman 5:10America - America [24-Bit Remaster] (1971)The Four Horsemen 5:53Aphrodite’s Child - 666 [Japanese Remaster] (1972)Archangels Thunderbird 3:32 Amon Düül II - Yeti (1970)*The Wizard 6:48Al Di Meola - Land of the Midnight Sun (1976)The Year’s At The Spring 4:39 Analogy - Analogy + The Suite (1972)Shades Of Grey 3:37Andwellas Dream - Love And Poetry [24-Bit Remaster] (1969)Day Of The Change 5:04Andromeda - Andromeda Definitive Collection (1969)Mad Dog Cole 2:43Ambrose Slade - Beginnings [24-Bit Remaster] (1970)Hold On To Your Mind 3:52Andwella - World’s End [24-Bit Remaster] (1970)Just Like A Woman 4:15 Amulet - Amulet (1980)School Love 3:18Anvil - Hard ’N’ Heavy (1981)Fast Train 3:20April Wine - April Wine (1971)*Buzzard 8:21Armageddon - Armageddon [Japanese Remaster] (1975)Round 4:10Armaggedon - Armaggedon (1970)Waiting A Long Time 4:26 Axis - Axis (1973)*Ed Io Canto 4:41Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso - Donna Plautilla [K2HD] (1989)*The Key 6:23Baker Gurvitz Army - Elysian Encounter [Vinyl Replica] (1975)Chest Fever 5:18The Band - Music From Big Pink (1968)Speed Kills 1:57Beacon Street Union - The Eyes Of The Beacon Street Union [Hq Vinyl] (1967)Feel 3:31Big Star - # 1 Record [Hq Vinyl] (1972)Come To The Sabbat 4:53Black Widow - Sacrifice [24-Bit Remaster] (1970)Holy Roller 3:55Bondage Fruit - Bondage Fruit (1994)*Down Man 2:39Brainbox - Brainbox (1969)*Dominance And Submission 5:23Blue Öyster Cult - Secret Treaties (1974)*The Prophet 7:26Buffalo - Volcanic Rock (1973)Mystic Queen 5:37Camel - Camel [SHM] (1973)*Mary, Mary So Contrary 6:22Can - Monster Movie [Blu-Spec CD] (1969)Ride 3:44Caravan - Caravan [24-Bit Remaster] (1968)Fire Over Water 5:34 Chango - Chango (1975)You And Me 4:39Chick Churchill - You & Me (1973)Not So Sweet Martha Lorraine 4:23Country Joe & The Fish - Electric Music For The Mind And Body (1967)Go Back 3:06Crabby Appleton - Crabby Appleton (1970)*Brother Bat Bone 9:06Creepy John Thomas - Brother Bat Bone [24-Bit Remaster] (1972)Andalucian Blues 2:19Chicken Shack - Accept [24-Bit Remaster] (1970)*Past Present And Future 9:53 Demon Fuzz - Afreaka! 21. If deleting a topic is a thing, please do so. I am not an active community member any longer and the formatting of this page was completely wrecked on an update or something I suppose.
  22. This might be the wrong place to ask this... I play drums live and record guitar for a local band out of Jacksonville, Florida. And i was wondering if any of your guys would be willing to make a CLDC for my band's first single "Parents". It would mean the world to us and would be awesome to see our music in a game like this. I can link the download to the song (anyone can download for free from bandcamp) and could send you tabs if anyone would be willing to make this happen. I have no idea how to make a CDLC nor do I have the time to work on one. http://fifield.bandcamp.com/releases
  23. Almost complete track of Nausea from Therapy?'s Nurse album. I can't put my finger on it, but bass seems off somehow. Would love feedback. Link: Therapy? - Nausea PC App ID: Cherub Rock Credit for Bass tone goes to Jordan3d (Billion Dollar Babies CLDC). Source tab here: http://www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/therapy-nausea-tab-s20016t0 Thanks in advance.
