Hi All! I have developed a habit of browsing the Customsforge for new exciting bands. Especially bands that use low tunings. But how 'bout listing here some of your favourite metal bands? There are so many bands that don't have any CDLC:s here, and that I haven't heard from before. I'll open the discussion by some of my favorites that are maybe not so known. Hi guys, any suggestions on the best CDLCs for practicing? I'm more partial to metal (and it's subgenres) and hard rock. When I say good for practice, I mean ones that are separated into easy-to-practice chunks for Riff Repeater; I can do without DD, but cutting a song into easy to manage sections for practice. Instrumentals are good as well.

I'd probably place myself a bit above a beginner, maybe the beginning of intermediate in terms of lead guitar skill. I don't mind playing songs that are harder as long as it is actually playable (NOT Devil Went Down to Georiga). I was just wondering what some people's favorite DLC's are here? Personal preferences: - Breaking Benjamin - Killswitch Engage - Bullet for my Valentine - Metallica - Five Finger Death Punch - Avenged Sevenfold (although can get very hard very quick) - TOOL <3 (I have most of these, can play most 85% or better.)

I downloaded the version where I can fix the tuning problem for songs that are CDLC. But, the new problem that I have now is, I am not able to play the song at all after fixing it. It is like my keyboard decided to stop working. Any help would be great. I am very new at this and I am just getting a little frustrated. Thanks

Strange compared to what I normally find myself listening to, but I have definitely opened a new door of music for myself today. I was listening to a playlist that had some Hatebreed in it on youtube (Hatebreed is by far my favorite band), and had a song suggestion come up called "Sunday School" by a band called Cane Hill. Checked it out, found that I really enjoyed it. Saw it was on the record labels youtube channel so I decided I may as well check them out and see what other bands they had. Discovered whatever genre this metal can be called, but seems to have a mix between melody vocals as well as the typical growl/scream/etc, and the riffs in many of the songs seemed to be really catch on in my head, as well as the rhythm (I'm a bassist). I found a few bands on there that I enjoyed plus a few I already knew of that I liked. Definitely not for everybody, seeing as how I find it strange myself that I seem to like this genre of metal, but screw it, what rocks you is what rocks you lol. Hey all, This is my first CDLC and my first addition to this ever growing community. I fucking love Amon Amarth and this is a song i've been playing around with for a while. So i thought it would be a great addition to move it from tab to game. However, it seems i suck way more when trying to read it in the game :P Anyways, this being my first CDLC i certainly made mistakes i would like to clean up! Known Issues/Questions:My phrasing attempt didn't seem to work and the entire song came out as one. I saw there was a thread about labeling phrases... i'll take a look at that tomorrow.I made a custom tone but am getting a lot of crackle when the guitar is idle. I generally play with my physical amp, so i'm not sure whats going on here. It could just be because the distortion is a preamp. If anyone has some advice here I'd appreciate it. Please note: I set the tone with my Schecter Blackjack Baritone with Seymour Duncan Blackout pickups. There are parts of the song that need to have palm mutes for the notes. The author of the tab in guitar pro didn't label them as such. Does anyone know if i can add palm mutes to notes in Editor on Fire?There is one part where i seemed to have skipped a note i'll come back to....Amon Amarth seem to have been all over the place at times with their BPM shifting from 125, 128 and 130 at different and random times. i tried to make up for it and mask it as much as possible.I'm not trying to act like i'm awesome at playing guitar or anything, but i do notice rocksmith has a really hard time registering low notes at times. When i'm playing this song, sometimes it'll be saying i'm missing a note when i know for a fact my finger is in a good position on the fretboard and being plucked on time. Does anyone else experience this from time to time? The biggest culprit is anything on the first fret - especially in Drop D, C Standard and B Standard. Any time i play this song my Rocksmith profile goes corrupt... i have my profile backed up luckily but its annoying... any ideas here? Hi first forum post over here, after playing bass for almost a year I am having a hard time finding bass parts that are difficult and interesting enough to make me want to play them. So if anyone could link me to technical death, progressive metal or anything that's difficult and interesting that would be great. I am looking specifically for bass guitar. stuff i already have all the Death songs (so amazing) decapitated symmetry of zero (after 2 weeks of practice I am close to being able to play it proficiently.) mastodon (some are boring but there a few fun tracks to play) Opeth (these are a ton of fun to play) porcupine tree born of Osiris (only one interesting song sadly) so if you know of anything like these especialy decapitated and death please tell me, that would be awesome thanks.

Doesn't seem to have any influence ingame... Hi everyone, I bought Rocksmith 2014 about a week ago, because I found out about this great community. I soon found myself importing the tabs for this song into EOF. When it worked quite nice, I realized I had to buy Rocksmith... and I really enjoy it. Only problem is... my fingers hurt so bad, because its been a while since I last played so much! Now I proudly present to you the first song by Devin "Heavy Devy" Townsend on Customsforge :smile: Alright, so this is my first CDLC! I did a lot of testing and revisions, but now I am at a point where I cannot further improve it on my own. Known issues / Question: Currently, the applied custom tone is from here, I found the link somewhere on this board. I quite randomly chose "American Idiot" and it doesn't sound extremly wrong. But since I do not have any knowledge about creating sounds for electric guitars (neither in real life, nor in RS), I do not see myself creating that anytime soon... I do not know bass and did not try the bass track. The instrument is set to five strings though, and I have no idea if that is even possible... (anyway, only the two lowest strings are used)I am wondering whether dynamic difficulty works as expected. What I did was set the sections (intro, chorus, verse, prechorus, chorus, bridge, solo, transition, chorus, modchorus, outro) and create the phrases with the same names. It did not divide the sections into more than one phrases. Now DDC e.g. splits the chorus into three phrases, and the different phrases level up very differently, even though they are nearly the same and I play them with equal precision. I added 3 seconds leading silence in EOF. When I save it, I get a warning that "the first beat marker is not positioned at 0 seconds [...]. Reset offset to zero?" I click "no", because when I click "yes" it changes the bpm to a completely different value and I cannot savely re-import my guitar pro file if I mess something up. This causes another warning "there is no COUNT phrase, but the first beat marker already has a phrase. You should move that phrase" - currently, everything seems to work fine, but I wonder what you think about it Not that this is really important, but... is there an easy way to import the vocal notes from a guitar pro file into EOF? Because right now, all the vocal notes only last for one beat.So please, enjoy the great Dev and give me your feedback! I had to edit lots of tiny bits and use some tech notes though, to get all the hammer-ons and bends working in EOF. See below for the original credit in the .gp5-file.

Deep Peace is kind of one long solo, and there are about seven changes of the BPM in the song, as well as changes from 4/4 to 7/8 and 6/8. All of those changes are tabbed out very accurately* and I was able to apply them in EOF. The problem is that sometimes Devin does not really stick to the rythm or how the notes may be "supposed to be played" according to the tabs with "perfect rythm". When his instrument is the only one, you don't really notice that he sometimes plays a tiny bit too late or too early. I see the following options here: Add BPM-changes to every single beat that is effected. I tried that but it became quite a mess (e.g. in a 4/4 shorten the first three beats that contain notes and making the 4th much longer, so that the next measure still begins at the same time) Move around the notes. From everything I read so far, this should probably not be preferred. Also I think DDC does a better job when all the notes stick to the beat grid Simply do nothing. I have to slow it down to 25% to be able to move notes to the correct position, so my thought is that most of this stuff isn't going to be noticed by a regular guitar player. It might even feel better to play exactly with the rythm!?While I tested 1 and 2, I cannot judge option 3 simply because I lack the skills to play it :smile: So this is where I count on your help: Which option is the best? If you can play the song but feel like something is slightly off, you are probably right, so I would like to know about it. Also this is the first time I tried editing tones for a song, so please give me feedback on those.
