  1. Bass Tuning Always stuck on E Standard since updating... trying to finish v2 of Gojira - Oroborus like many of Gojira's Tracks... everything should be in D Standard... i did the usual in the tookit... the Guitars seems to work fine... but the bass is always E Standard in-game when i check.... even tried to see if it was just off by 2 steps... and tried C Standard setting for bass in the toolkit in hopes of bypassing the problem but it still came out E instead of D... :( and i've never had this issue until updating the toolkit today...

The default was very silent, changed it from -23 to -15. I hope it's not too loud now!Resolved "COUNT" phrase issue by adding 4 beats before the first beat. Doesn't seem to have any influence ingame... Hi everyone, I bought Rocksmith 2014 about a week ago, because I found out about this great community. I soon found myself importing the tabs for this song into EOF. When it worked quite nice, I realized I had to buy Rocksmith... and I really enjoy it. Only problem is... my fingers hurt so bad, because its been a while since I last played so much! Now I proudly present to you the first song by Devin "Heavy Devy" Townsend on Customsforge  Alright, so this is my first CDLC! I did a lot of testing and revisions, but now I am at a point where I cannot further improve it on my own. Known issues / Question: Currently, the applied custom tone is from here, I found the link somewhere on this board. I quite randomly chose "American Idiot" and it doesn't sound extremly wrong. But since I do not have any knowledge about creating sounds for electric guitars (neither in real life, nor in RS), I do not see myself creating that anytime soon... I do not know bass and did not try the bass track. The instrument is set to five strings though, and I have no idea if that is even possible... (anyway, only the two lowest strings are used)I am wondering whether dynamic difficulty works as expected. What I did was set the sections (intro, chorus, verse, prechorus, chorus, bridge, solo, transition, chorus, modchorus, outro) and create the phrases with the same names. It did not divide the sections into more than one phrases. Now DDC e.g. splits the chorus into three phrases, and the different phrases level up very differently, even though they are nearly the same and I play them with equal precision. I added 3 seconds leading silence in EOF. When I save it, I get a warning that "the first beat marker is not positioned at 0 seconds [...]. Reset offset to zero?" I click "no", because when I click "yes" it changes the bpm to a completely different value and I cannot savely re-import my guitar pro file if I mess something up. This causes another warning "there is no COUNT phrase, but the first beat marker already has a phrase. You should move that phrase" - currently, everything seems to work fine, but I wonder what you think about it Not that this is really important, but... is there an easy way to import the vocal notes from a guitar pro file into EOF? Because right now, all the vocal notes only last for one beat.So please, enjoy the great Dev and give me your feedback! Thank you very much, Azrael Credit: I used the tabs from here and they are pretty accurate, as far as I can tell. I had to edit lots of tiny bits and use some tech notes though, to get all the hammer-ons and bends working in EOF. See below for the original credit in the .gp5-file.
  3. http://www.metalblade.com/us/covers/AmonAmarth-VersustheWorld.jpg ARTIST...................: Amon Amarth ALBUM....................: Versus The World TITLE....................: Thousand Years Of Oppression VERSION..................: 0.1 INSTRUMENT(S)............: Lead, Rhythm (soon), Bass (soon), Vocals (soon) TUNING...................: B Standard CUSTOM TONE..............: Yes DYNAMIC DIFFICULTY.......: No PACKAGE ID...............: Cherub Rock PLATFORMS................: PC Download: Version 0.1 WARNING - before downloading this please see question 7 in my notes as it may not just be an isolated issue. - http://www.mediafire.com/download/m4j720z4hyf8atd/Amon-Amarth_Thousand-Years-of-Oppression_p.psarc Video of Song: Original Tab: http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/a/amon_amarth/thousand_years_of_oppression_guitar_pro.htm Changelog: v0.1 - Initial creation of Lead Section (alpha). v0.2 - Palm mutes added for Lead sections - Phrases added - Rythm added - Bass Section added but not hooked up properly... Hey all, This is my first CDLC and my first addition to this ever growing community. I fucking love Amon Amarth and this is a song i've been playing around with for a while. So i thought it would be a great addition to move it from tab to game. However, it seems i suck way more when trying to read it in the game :P Anyways, this being my first CDLC i certainly made mistakes i would like to clean up! Known Issues/Questions:My phrasing attempt didn't seem to work and the entire song came out as one. I saw there was a thread about labeling phrases... i'll take a look at that tomorrow.I made a custom tone but am getting a lot of crackle when the guitar is idle. I generally play with my physical amp, so i'm not sure whats going on here. It could just be because the distortion is a preamp. If anyone has some advice here I'd appreciate it. Please note: I set the tone with my Schecter Blackjack Baritone with Seymour Duncan Blackout pickups. There are parts of the song that need to have palm mutes for the notes. The author of the tab in guitar pro didn't label them as such. Does anyone know if i can add palm mutes to notes in Editor on Fire? There is one part where i seemed to have skipped a note i'll come back to....Amon Amarth seem to have been all over the place at times with their BPM shifting from 125, 128 and 130 at different and random times. i tried to make up for it and mask it as much as possible.I'm not trying to act like i'm awesome at playing guitar or anything, but i do notice rocksmith has a really hard time registering low notes at times. When i'm playing this song, sometimes it'll be saying i'm missing a note when i know for a fact my finger is in a good position on the fretboard and being plucked on time. Does anyone else experience this from time to time? The biggest culprit is anything on the first fret - especially in Drop D, C Standard and B Standard. Any time i play this song my Rocksmith profile goes corrupt... i have my profile backed up luckily but its annoying... any ideas here? Could it be because of the Custom Tone that I authored and packed up with the song?Anyways excited to wrap this up this weekend, any C&C or general feedback/bug reports welcome! Thanks
  4. Hi All! I have developed a habit of browsing the Customsforge for new exciting bands. Especially bands that use low tunings. But how 'bout listing here some of your favourite metal bands? There are so many bands that don't have any CDLC:s here, and that I haven't heard from before. I'll open the discussion by some of my favorites that are maybe not so known. These are mostly Metalcore/Groove Metal/Death Metal: - Mutiny Within (Power/Metalcore) - Threat Signal (Metalcore, the song on the video has been my wife's ringtone for the past 7 years) - Scar Symmetry (Swedens gift to metalworld) - Diablo (Finnish "äijämetal") - Medeia (Finnish death metal) - Nicole (Finnish death metal) - MyGrain (Finnish thrash/metalcore) - Diecast (USA metalcore, they'll release a new album this year) - Dark Age (German Metalcore) - The Arcane Order (Danish symphonic metal) - Raunchy (Danish Metalcore) - Dreamshade (Swiss metalcore, similar to KSE) - Deadlock (German Thrash/Death/Metalcore) - Bleed The Sky (USA Groove Metal) - Disarmonia Mundi (Italian/Swedish metalcore. Björn 'Speed' Strid s vocalist) - Rise to Fall (Spanish metallcore) - Mors Principium Est (Finnish death metal, epic guitar solo on the video) - Heart Of A Coward (UK Djent) - Hacktivist (Djent &Rap, they play in Drop E) - Erra (USA ) - Dead By April (Sweden Metalcore) - Caliban (German Metalcore) - Breakdown Of Sanity (Swiss metalcore) - The Interbeing (Danish Metalcore)
  5. Hey, everyone! I'm thinking of buying a new electric guitar, I have a budget of about 850$. Personally, I am a metal head and I want to get a guitar that reflects that taste of music. I'm torn between either Jackson or Ibanez (also there is a 7-String PRS SE Custom I came across while looking around which I really liked). What do you guys think? What should I get? (Oh and I'm considering Orange or Blackstar regarding amps.)
  6. Since no one else has started this yet, I figured I would. Will be doing one link per band, because who has time to link all of the Metallica and Megadeth customs individually? Thank you and have fun with this ! :)
  8. Seeing the Discography Projects sub-forum made me feel a bit less stupid (and a bit less original) in my plight to tab out and make customs of all of Demetori's songs. If anyone else wants to do a song, obviously feel free to. In case anyone hasn't noticed, I have pretty much made literally 0 progress. 9. Strange compared to what I normally find myself listening to, but I have definitely opened a new door of music for myself today. I was listening to a playlist that had some Hatebreed in it on youtube (Hatebreed is by far my favorite band), and had a song suggestion come up called "Sunday School" by a band called Cane Hill. Checked it out, found that I really enjoyed it. Saw it was on the record labels youtube channel so I decided I may as well check them out and see what other bands they had. Discovered whatever genre this metal can be called, but seems to have a mix between melody vocals as well as the typical growl/scream/etc, and the riffs in many of the songs seemed to be really catch on in my head, as well as the rhythm (I'm a bassist). I found a few bands on there that I enjoyed plus a few I already knew of that I liked. Definitely not for everybody, seeing as how I find it strange myself that I seem to like this genre of metal, but screw it, what rocks you is what rocks you lol. Here are some of the songs I found I enjoyed that should be decent examples (I don't care about how cool/uncool the videos are or if they suck, I'm about the music): "Exotype - Wide Awake" "Cane Hill - Sunday School" "The Plot In You - Premeditated" (Video NSFW) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUtLus3CnPk "The Plot In You - Troll" (I thought this song was catchy as hell)
  10. Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you all know that I will be streaming Rocksmith 2014 for a couple hours to day in about 30 mins to half an hour at www.twitch.tv/mentalfuneral. I am streaming almost everyday at around 6pm EST and in the weekends I try to stream earlier and for a longer time. Come hangout and chat with me. I am usually playing old school Rock and Metal but I am taking requests if anyone has anything they want to hear. I hope you guys are gonna hop in and help my channel grow, thanks. www.twitch.tv/mentalfuneral

  12. jamtrackcentral.com is a website that not only offers jam tracks but also lead guitar recordings by an expanding roster of high profile guitarists. A lot of the material seems to be improvised by the players on the spot but there's certainly a few artists who also prepare some building blocks before actually recording their material. Either way, these tracks are a great opportunity to learn from fantastic guitar players around the world and to improve your lead guitar playing and soloing skills. Most of the material is suited for intermediate to advanced players but a handful of artists also offer tracks for novices. This thread will be a place to collect all tracks on CF that are available from JTC and can also serve as a platform for discussion about everything related to the website and their artists, as well as coordinating a possible JTC custom creation project. One of the things that I'm not sure about listing yet, is those JTC releases that present albums of their artists with full or partial transcriptions (like the ones that are already available from Guthrie Govan, i.e.), because they were not specifically produced for JTC and are not intended as learning material. It seems more reasonable to treat those as regular releases but I'm willing to discuss this. The list will be ordered alphabetically by the artists last name and also contain the name of the pack it belongs to, as well as the genre and difficulty information one can find on the website. It's split into three categories: tracks that are already released on CF and can be downloaded; tracks that are already in the process of being made into customs; tracks that are only planned and therefore reserved by a specific charter. Released will have links to the database entries and the name of the charter; WIP and Planned will also have the charters name, so all projects can be immediately associated with the appropriate person. 16. I still have pretty much no idea what to do with tones (especially for guitar, since I don't have one). If anyone could advise on the most common types of adjustments (EQ, pedals, whatever) that would be a great help! I recently (as of Feb. 2016) started adding the notes.eof files to my download folders. For some of the older ones I think the .ini files were different which can cause the sync to get screwed up, so I'll try to update the older ones (I'll probably be wanting to do serious updates to lots of my older CDLC anyway). So far, my Blotted Science, Between the Buried and Me, Coroner, HeXeN, Nevermore, Skeletonwitch, Streetlight Manifesto, Testament, Vektor, and Warbringer customs have the notes.eof file in the download folder. See here for the basics of how to set things up so you can use the notes.eof files. Finished CDLC (organized roughly by genre): I haven't done every custom by every band listed here, which should hopefully be obvious. Just that I've done at least one by each band (I'll try to add the exact number I've done in parentheses). If I feel a band belongs in multiple categories, I'll put them in multiple times. 17. Hi guys, any suggestions on the best CDLCs for practicing? I'm more partial to metal (and it's subgenres) and hard rock. When I say good for practice, I mean ones that are separated into easy-to-practice chunks for Riff Repeater; I can do without DD, but cutting a song into easy to manage sections for practice. Instrumentals are good as well.

Deep Peace is kind of one long solo, and there are about seven changes of the BPM in the song, as well as changes from 4/4 to 7/8 and 6/8. All of those changes are tabbed out very accurately* and I was able to apply them in EOF. The problem is that sometimes Devin does not really stick to the rythm or how the notes may be "supposed to be played" according to the tabs with "perfect rythm". When his instrument is the only one, you don't really notice that he sometimes plays a tiny bit too late or too early. I see the following options here: Add BPM-changes to every single beat that is effected. I tried that but it became quite a mess (e.g. in a 4/4 shorten the first three beats that contain notes and making the 4th much longer, so that the next measure still begins at the same time) Move around the notes. From everything I read so far, this should probably not be preferred. Also I think DDC does a better job when all the notes stick to the beat grid Simply do nothing. I have to slow it down to 25% to be able to move notes to the correct position, so my thought is that most of this stuff isn't going to be noticed by a regular guitar player. It might even feel better to play exactly with the rythm!?While I tested 1 and 2, I cannot judge option 3 simply because I lack the skills to play it  So this is where I count on your help: Which option is the best? If you can play the song but feel like something is slightly off, you are probably right, so I would like to know about it. Also this is the first time I tried editing tones for a song, so please give me feedback on those. Thanks, Azrael Credit: *Tabs by Jesse Cohan http://www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/devin-townsend-deep-peace-tab-s69985t1
  20. If deleting a topic is a thing, please do so. I am not an active community member any longer and the formatting of this page was completely wrecked on an update or something I suppose.

  22. Charts have been made for all songs already! Since we have a thread for Nightmare and Avenged Sevenfold I figure I would post my album :) I am still planning on updating these songs. Since most a7x songs have two lead parts, I still have to add the bonus lead to a lot of these tracks, but all of them are complete with DD, lead, rhythm, bass, and vocals! all of these charts are by me here they are: 1. Beast and the Harlot (Official DLC, Ain't Happening) 2. Burn it Down 3. Blinded in Chains 4. Bat Country (Official DLC, Ain't Happening) 5. Trashed and Scattered 6. Seize the Day 7. Sidewinder 8. The Wicked End 9. Strength of the World 10. Betrayed 11. M.I.A. Thanks for checking it out! Have fun! P.S. I included Guitar Pro tabs for the songs I had the files for. I will add the other tabs as I find them. Think I did them on a different computer which is far far away. Sorry bout that.
  23. Loving these! A few new metalcore videos you might enjoy or want to turn into cdlc
  24. I downloaded the version where I can fix the tuning problem for songs that are CDLC. But, the new problem that I have now is, I am not able to play the song at all after fixing it. It is like my keyboard decided to stop working. Any help would be great. I am very new at this and I am just getting a little frustrated. Thanks
  25. I'll just be starting this thread for progressive metal for the moment. Again, this is a pretty expansive genre, so I'll try to stick to one link per band. It will be incomplete for a while. I'm not entirely sure how to organize this. At the topmost level it probably makes sense to do some sort of division between clean vocals and mixed/harsh vocals, but it might make sense to subdivide those as well. Thoughts?
