  1. http://guitargames.files.wordpress.com/2013/11/ddc-512.png {Original icon from Svengraph} Dynamic Difficulty Creator I am pleased to share with you the "Dynamic Difficulty Creator" which : - uses the XML files of each arrangement to produce a new version of these files (files like "PART REAL_GUITAR.xml") - generates all phrases automatically (if not already created in EOF) - generates all levels of dynamic difficulties from 0 to 19 if needed for each phrase DDC v3.7 supports various time signatures : - if a time signature is missing, you can now configure its categorization maps - the synchronization process in EOF must respect the rhythm (the measures, beats and time signatures have to be correctly defined in EOF) For best results : - during the synchronization process in EOF, do not move the notes, just move the main measures (vertical bars) - create sections and phrases in EOF carefully because they strongly influence DDC process - All sections and phrases must start on the main beat of a measure If these rules are bypassed, DDC can work, but the results are not garenteed ... I'm writting a dedicated tutorial about DDC : DDC Tutorial ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- D O W N L O A D L I N K ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Production (stable) : ddc_v3.7.zip (Requires RSToolkit v2.8.1.0-980b5022 beta or greater) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- U P D A T E S ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Update v3.7 : (14/07/2020) - New specific part in the log file to display the handShapes properties - Fixed bug : HandShapes are not always generated when they contain both single notes and chords Update v3.6 : (02/12/2018) - The "offset" property is now setted if the first beat starts after 0.000 - New "maxMeasuresPerPhrase" parameter to disable the automatic phrase creation process based on the average number of measures per input phrase - Fixed bug : A new beat was always added at time 0.000 - Fixed bug : When generating the transcriptionTrack tag, a chord must be ignored if it is replaced by single notes at upper levels - Fixed bug : Notes are not always generated for odd measures when "ddc_dd_remover.xml" template is used - Fixed bug : The computation of number of differences is wrong for the first level of difficulty Update v3.4 : (20/09/2017) - More levels added in the default configuration file - In order to add more levels of difficulty, each level is splitted in two sublevels, the first one keep only new notes added in odd measures. - Fixed bug : The last notes may be omitted when the last "noguitar" section has an adjusted time position. - Fixed bug : Error in calculating the total number of events in each phrase that affected the process of merging adjacent difficulty levels. - Fixed bug : Transcription track could produce several single notes at the same time position and on the same fret - Fixed bug : Embedded handShapes may produce issue when generating the transcriptionTrack tag - Fixed bug : Spaces in chord name and display name were not managed correctly - Fixed bug : Count attributes may have wrong values in transcriptionTrack children tags Update v3.3 : (07/04/2017) - Set the default value when an attribute is missing in the input XML file - The transcriptionTrack generation process has been modified to manage multiple notes on the same time position. - New check about the maximum number of phrases and automatic increase of the phrase length parameter if possible. - New process for increasing the phrase length parameter if the maximum number of phrases will be reached (new parameter in the config file to define this limit). - New process for detecting similar phrases (similarities are now computed by measure). - New process for detecting duplicate events on a same time position and to avoid a crash of DDC (only the first occurrence is kept by time position). - Fixed bug : TranscriptionTrack generation may produce events in the wrong order based on their time position (when the highest level has less events than the lower levels). - Fixed bug : Always add the first event of each phrase in the first level of difficulty to avoid a crash in RR. 2. Hi, I noticed a strange behaviour of DDC in the latest toolkit,. When I drop a file in DDC list and I check overwrite the original file. I got a message that DD have been added but no more files are available in the folder. If I uncheck the overwrite option, then I get my original file and the DD file. So if I check the overwrite option i got no file for now.
  3. I'm just finishing my second CDLC. Overall, I'm pretty happy with how things are working out - but so far I have used the DD Creator in the Rocksmith Custom Toolkit to produce Dynamic Difficulty. With the bass part for the current song, this seems fine (it's not a very complicated part). I'm not really satisfied with what the DDC produces for the guitar part though. I can see roughly what the algorithm is doing and as an algorithmic approach that seems fine... but it's not the same as the order of notes to make visible if I had free choice. (I'd like to think that I would pick a more "musical" selection that would enable the phrase to be learnt quicker.) Are there other ways to create DD? My guess is that I ought to be able to do something in EoF to create the DD, but I've not seen a single tutorial describe how to do it. Am I missing something?
  4. Hey guys I've been updating the bass arrangements on a custom and when I tried to generate DD with toolkit I'm getting this: http://i.imgur.com/NxuVLEy.jpg It happened the same with BPR and older toolkits.
  5. Hello, My name is Ben and I have recently made a few CDLCs. However, some people have been requesting dynamic difficulty, and I know that there is a Creator that does it for you in RS Toolkit, but I can't figure out how to seperate the song into phrases. Can anyone help me? If so, that would be awesome
  6. I tried to add dinamic difficulty to Chicago Music Exchange custom and get the following log: 2015-02-25 10:05:46.3503 | RocksmithToolkitGUI.Program (INFO) : RocksmithToolkitGUI.Program.Main Version: 2.6.1.0-77e75115 2015-02-25 10:05:46.3503 | RocksmithToolkitGUI.Program (INFO) : RocksmithToolkitGUI.Program.Main OS: Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 2015-02-25 10:05:46.3503 | RocksmithToolkitGUI.Program (INFO) : RocksmithToolkitGUI.Program.Main Command: "G:\descargas\RocksmithCustomSongToolkit\RocksmithToolkitGUI.exe" 2015-02-25 10:07:26.9926 | RocksmithToolkitGUI.Program (ERROR) : RocksmithToolkitGUI.Program.<Main>b__1 MiscUtil Void ReadInternal(Byte[], Int32) Exception catched: System.IO.EndOfStreamException End of stream reached with 4 byte left to read. 7. Hey I'm busy making a new CDLC, I generated a DDC to test it. Made a DDC with 5 levels. But in the last part of the song the DDC only give me 2 levels instead of 5. I also tried to add more levels but its always the same part of the song that only gives 2 levels (it a very low purple bar in RS. I tried to repack it, reimport in EOF, double and half the BPM but it just stays the same. Anyone also has this problem?
  8. Notes in sync with the rhythm : All the logic of DDC is based on the position of the notes and the chords in the beats and measures. So to obtain the best result : - Correctly define the time signature in EOF (multiple signatures allowed in the same track) - Move the beat positions in EOF to synchronize the tab with the soundtrack (and not the notes and chords) - If you have to move a few notes, define a grid snap in EOF (1/16 or 1/32 or 1/64) - Before generating DD levels, check the notes which are out of sync with the "Highlight non grid snapped notes" EOF functionality Sections and phrases : DDC can work with no section and no phrase, but not in an optimal way. Good to know : - Sections are very important in RS2014 to select sub-part of the song in the "Riff Repeater". - Phrases are important for the "Dynamic Difficulty" in RS2014 as they define a learning sequence of notes and chords. - DDC is able to create the phrases but it does it in a non-clever way (all sections are divided in conformity with the "phrase length" parameter) For best results with DDC : - Correctly define all sections of the song in EOF (hardest solos can be divided in multiple sections) - Correctly define your own phrases in EOF (eventually with various lengths) to be sure that the same repeated phrases in the song contain the same sequence of notes. How to limit the number of DD levels : In the previous releases of DDC, there were no merging process of contiguous levels, so the "ddc_5_max_levels.xml" and "ddc_8_max_levels.xml" were created to limit the maximum number of DD levels. Since DDC v2.4, there is a configuration file which allows a fine setting of the merging process. To obtain a best result : - Use the "ddc_default.xml" ramp-up model (or "ddc_chords_protector.xml" or "ddc_chords_remover.xml") to generate all non-empty levels - Create your own "myconfig.cfg" or modify the "ddc_default.cfg" to define the intensity of the merging process with these three parameters : - maxDifferencesBeforeMerging (default is 10%) : two contiguous levels may be merged together if there are less than 10% differences between them - maxDifferencesAfterMerging (default is 30%) : the two contiguous levels are effectively merged together if the resulting level has less than 30% of differences with the previous one - maxDifficultyLevelToProtect (default is 20%) : all 20% of first levels (based on the ramp-up model) are always protected (never merged together) Example n°1 : DD remover (ddc_merge_all_levels.cfg) is based on the following setting : - maxDifferencesBeforeMerging = 100% - maxDifferencesAfterMerging = 100% - maxDifficultyLevelToProtect = 0% Example n°2 : DD maximum levels (ddc_keep_all_levels.cfg) is based on the following setting : - maxDifferencesBeforeMerging = 0% - maxDifferencesAfterMerging = 0% - maxDifficultyLevelToProtect = 100% So for best results, never use the old ramping-up models ("ddc_5_max_levels.xml" and "ddc_8_max_levels.xml") and adjust your preferences of the merging process in the new configuration file. Take a look in the DDC log files When you generate DD on your XML files, DDC produces a complete log file with a lot of useful informations. In the first part of this log file, DDC writes all inconsistencies as "Warnings" or "Errors". Some of them can be automatically corrected by DDC to avoid crash cases in RS2014. You can also use these log files to check the quality of the generated DD (all notes by level for each phrase) before testing your new song in RS2014.
  9. I downloaded the file of Fade To Black from Custom Songs, but because Im not a professional and I like Dynamic Difficulty I decided to add it. I didn't want to upload it or anything just for my own purposes. But when I click on generate DD I get this error: DDC Error. System Error. See below:. And its obvious there is nothing below ... My settings in the DDC menu are: Ramp Up Model: ddc_default, Config File: ddc_default, Overwrite original file: Tick, Phrase length: 2 (I dont know what it is, in the DDC tutorial it was 4, I tried that too, didnt work). Oh and I have the newest Toolkit, and with any other songs it works fine. Sorry for my bad English, it's just my second language.
  10. Soo, I don't really have any luck with adding DD to songs I want to add ... Again, I tried to add DD in the toolkit to the song Wherever I May Roam, created by huntervandam. But when I click Generate DD, I get this error message: The first note, has a time position lower than the first anchor. What does that mean? How can I fix it? I don't want to take any credit for the song after it, I just need it for personal use.
  11. Hi ! I'm working on DDC v2.5 and I'm looking for songs which don't work with it : - Songs that already have mutliple levels of difficulty and an empty "transcriptionTrack" tag - Songs generated with old DDC releases (lower than v1.7) - Songs which encounter an error during the DDC process Thanks
  12. Was working on a song and I noticed something odd: Had a song with 13 sections. DDC generated just fine, but song would crash in Rocksmith. Looking at the DDC output, I noticed it only had 12 phrases generated (it's a fairly repetitive song). When I deleted 2 of the sections from EOF and repacked, it worked (it now had fewer sections). Is this a bug with DDC or Rocksmith?
