  1. I concur. In the beginning I used dynamic difficulty because it helps you learn to play the guitar, which is what I wanted to focus on. Now that my hands know what they are doing, Max difficulty is the way to go, otherwise you are only seeing part of the song, which then makes you have to learn a part multiple times (granted each additional time shouldn't take as long to learn as the initial couple levels but it still seems inefficient time wise). I think the best way to learn a song is to do as abteen suggested or find tab of the song you wish to learn and run through a section of the song a couple times, then play it from memory. It will cause you to memorize it faster because rather than RS's easy sight reading holding your hand, your brain has to actually do work. But everyone is different, experiment with each way and use what works best for you :)
  2. Depends on which system I'm playing on. On PS3 I mix it up pretty regularly, but when on PC I am always in learn a song as I am always adding more and more CDLC I need to try out :D

    Amps!

I picked up a Yamaha G100-210 III for really cheap and am very happy with it. It has a very nice clean and the built in reverb is decent enough. The gain is alright, but I usually have a distortion pedal hooked up as I tend to play a lot of metal.
  4. I caught a Dunlop Jazz III from Alexi during a Children Of Bodom show, tried it out when I got home and have been using them ever sence. I still use my Dunlop Tortex 1.14mm when playing my bass and occasionally when I play a song that is mostly chords, but the Jazz III is just awesome.
  5. Notifications for CDLC updates is a dream come true, I'm very excited to see how this site grows and am loving everything I've seen so far.
  6. Like everyone else, I'm very happy that you have created a new home for our CDLCs. It's sad to see SA closing up that branch, but we'll carry on.
