  1. Deleting songs from RS14 and RS12 worked great, as far as I could see, maybe you could add an option to allow the 2 files being in a subdir of dlc like _RS12, as this follows your logic of subfolders to create playlists, which I've done before. I wonder if your tool needs the 2 original files in his folder to restore deleted songs. And how will this tool be compatible with the "Customsforge Song Manager"?
  2. OBS is by far the best recording software, which I've tried. And it's Opensource. No need to turn off audio exclusivity, as this is used in RS to record from the RS cable, but not to playback. What's best is full HD screen cam record, transparency adjustable, and inverse setting. This means it's possible (with the right cam or guitar position/angle) to record your playing parallel along the RS Fretboard. Quite funny, to see my missed notes and my bad finger positions.
  3. We don't have intellectual rights on doing a cDLC. Bad customs should be reported and if truely bad, get a thumbs down. Bad customs are not the result of bad tutorials. There are more ways to build them, the variability of tutorials is a plus. Bad customs are simply the result of not investing enough time. I can put out a custom within one or two hours, or in 20 hours. And I'm not sure if so many users will notice the differences. Which means users should become more active in the five star rating. They are not asked to rate the song, but to rate the playability of the cDLC. So maybe the site managers should add "Playability : " to the 5 stars, because that's what we a looking for. Play!
  4. I worked on a custom, which had all notes moved around on bass and lead. When I finished the lead, the bass was still wrong, and finally I think I ended up with 2 different beat maps. Am I wrong stating that in BPR, different arrangements (bass, lead, rhythm) of a same song can get different beats, while in EOF they all have the same beats? When imported into EOF, I guess, only the beats of one chosen modified arrangement will be considered. To avoid this, it would be advisable - to compare the GPro Tab directly while modifying the beats (which I didn't) - to see multiple arrangements simultaneously (maybe an option, someday)
  5. RS2014 levels down whatever the settings, and DD Remover works fine, for the songs I tried. In case you need it, put the DD arrangement as a bonus or alternate arr. in the toolkit, and the non DD as main arrangement. I do this for all my cDLC, to avoid this "selecting all and level up to 100%". Now I add (+DD) to the RS Song name, so you know there is a bonus file. Everybody should be happy this way.
  6. I only upgrade if EOF the Toolkit, Guitar pro, Audacity, Goplay along, and RS1 works. And my good old Opera 12.16 :D
  7. By the way RS1 has quite a lot to offer, I still use it, Their games are much more educational and addictive, just like the Dawn of the Chordead and the Scale Runner
  8. Looks like you have to be a Freebird to play Freebird
  9. Van Zant Nostalgy

  10. It all would be so much easier, if we could switch to a real 3D Rocksmith preview in EOF, instead of the GH Preview. It would make so many things like bends, sustains, handshapes and frethandpositions straightforward. While charting, we always have to imagine how it will look, most of the time I have my guitar on the knees while working in EOF to simulate the real thing. I know this is probably a huge module to develop, but maybe some students are willing to assist the developers.
  11. I'm an educator in sports, and to reach my youngsters, they must bring in the required qualities : self - motivation self - respect. If they come for Glory, or think they are better, I give them a hard time. About education : I like "Whiplash". That's about the same for charters : "Look I made 100 cDLC, 2000 downloads", chances are they may not be that good, when main errors from my list can be read unhealed on their pages. Summersong made 500dl and never worked. Not a quality sign. After a time of discussion, of patience and waiting, comes the time of Action. :D I'm the hunter : be afraid, be very afraid :D :D Who you're gonna call : Bad_DLC_Busters :D
  12. What's best, lately some users released fake cDLC (Triumph - Just a game, Satriani - Summer song). Probably the latest way of getting someone to do it right, without waiting in the request list. When I stumble upon an unfinished cDLC, mostly done by unknown (not yet known, less known) charters, I give feedback and wait. Some may criticize I shouldn't blame what's free. Smiling on a nicely wrapped present, containing rotten KFC chickendips? No way! When there is still no update, I do the update for my own needs, and why should I not share my correction on the author's page? I did this sometimes (Muse_Bedroom-Acoustics, BlackSabbath- Heaven&hell, Antonio-Banderas_El-Mariachi ...) I would like to see some of us rise, a team of hunters, chasing down these bad and dead cDLC, and correct them, if possible. But what is a bad custom ? I suggest some kind of priority list, based on a playability criteria Easy to fix (import in Toolkit, EOF, takes less than 10 minutes) 1. Crash, Conflicts Low Tuning Error 2. Riffrepeator sections (non-selectable, missing or too large) 3. Tone (nothing worse than a distortion tone for acoustic) Tone Volume Balance (multiple tones can be tricky) 4. Empty charts : waiting 3min for the 1st note ? (merge rhythm and lead) 5. Errors in Titles, Artist names, Album Cover, release year (making the cDLC hard to find, "The" in "Sort Name" ) For a self-respecting author, no reason not to do. Lack of polishing (requires more time) 1. Bad readability (sustains cover next notes, blocks in slides, notes too close together) 2. Bad fingering, fret hand positions, arpeggio's (tough subject ;)) 3. Missing Ornaments (timing of bends, grace notes, pull off, hammer ons, accents) 4. Notes off the beats (creating bad DD) 5. Non-DD and DD versions not in one file. 6. Missing Vocals Hard to fix (requires about same time as to redo it) 1. Sync (no way of having fun with unsynced cDLC) 2. Wrong, incomplete Tabs 3. Missing Instrument lead or bass 4. Wrong Tuning The author can only fix what lies within his theoretical and play skills. Obviously, what we most need are tutorials and software to detect chords, rhythm patterns, and scales. Feel free to complete the list. :)
  13. Most of them are Text tabs with simple chords, but no information about rhythm patterns and string patterns, it requires more understanding of these techniques. Check out the rhythm part of Neil Youngs Dead man to understand what I mean.
  14. There is no centralized, regularly updated "In Progress" list, which would be a nice idea to do in the same style of Ignition. W.I.P. often becomes R.I.P. when the work can't be continued for various reasons. Teamwork could also be improved.
  15. Can't keep up to your release rate, you defy Big B, another 4 Pikes he released this WE. Need some time to play yours and listen to his. :)
  16. Harpooned the Goon

  17. I'm afraid this topic will be closed quickly, but we play for free, in our garage here, while those who must pay a license want to make profit out of the artists and have professional charters (probably very low paid). Let's keep the garage closed, while they keep every door open to make more profits, be it hunting freebirds by law, forgetting they would have drowned by now, without our garage.
  18. Be happy, today, I'm going to release a blues, a real fun one to play, must have had a sense of anticipation. B)
  19. When the window to load the arrangement is open, select the arrangement you want to load twice, hold RMB and move mouse, and Windows will ask to create a copy and adds copy to the name. Can't be more easy. One major reason to do this is to add same arrangements with different tones. I find it a bit disturbing that the path (mine may be a little long) takes up space, and the file name can't be identified. I'd rather see ... (3 dots) as a path and then the filename of the arrangement.
  20. I'm not into Iron Maiden, but some excellent charters did some. Please ask Nacholede, he likes to redo his own versions, or Bernixx, Brooklyn_Sounds are trusty charters
  21. The old man was faster than the youngsters B) It's fixed for me :)
  22. I can't say much more except the problem seems to show also in this release. I noticed this after the latest beta update, checked my custom, rebuild everthing in EOF and Toolkit, wem files. Everything's fine, until the song is supposed to start in RS14 after tuning. Then RS14 crashes, quits, without a warning. The customs seem to work fine generated with previous Toolkit.
  23. I loaded the recent Toolkit beta updates today, generated a perfectly correct custom which crashes RS14, without reporting any errors
  24. I'm just linking this thread to mine, no crack, no pre-amp needed, just a good pickup and a female to female connector 100% recognition :)
