  1. Dunlop Ultex Jazz III 2.0. Best pick I ever used. I also have lots of Dunlop Max Grip Jazz III on stock, love those too. I HATE light picks, I find them extremely unresponsive, the delay from when I move my wrist to when the pick finally produces sound is insane.

  2. Sorry guys I havent been able to test due to a good old broken string problem. Ive got plenty of cdlc waiting to be tested so Ill post a lot of stuff on this weekend.

Heads up testers !! some tracks here needing some opinion, ....  30 seconds to mars.......The Kill.

Ignore the tones just now please, more interested in the notes and sync ATM, been a bitch of a song to sync from the tab.

feedback in the wip post please thanks in advance.

Awesome. I love those songs, back when 30 seconds to mars sounded cool. Gonna try them out as soon as I can.

  3. The spreadsheet idea is very good, in time we could have a very nice database showing which customs are good. I love playing and downloading customs, so for me I only have to continue doing the things I do, just report them here. Everytime I find a song that stays in my collection I'll just let you guys know. When a custom does not cut it Ill just give the contributor some feedback and hope for the best.

  4. Well i got the minimum. Now i can rest in peace

This song requires speed and hand coordination that i don´t have.

    The solo ir very fun.

one tip, Use a light pick ( I used 1mm)

Yeah man it is a great song if you wanna get yor alternate picking skills a massive upgrade. I guess picks are a matter of taste, I cant play fast things with light picks, the delay I get from the moment I move my hand to the moment the pick has finally slided off the string and played the note is too big for me. I use a 2.0 pick lol. Hard picks only for me!

Trying to find the balance between encouraging new people, and keep the rabble from destroying the community is tricky.

Experience shows ( that allowing just anyone to vote on songs just leads to the usual internet anarchy and low signal-to-noise ratio.

With that in mind, I have two suggestions worth considering.

    1) Allow only upvotes, not downvotes.

Like FaceBook "Like".  Only people motivated to upvote will take the time to do so, and you'll get a natural sifting of the ones that people actually think are worthwhile.

You would still get some over-attention to popular songs, but it seems like within a specific genre you'd get a reasonable assessment.

This would not encourage or reward people who contribute, but would be simple to implement and still be helpful.

    2) Only allow ratings by people with "cred".

If you've posted a custom song, you suddenly have infinite cred.  You've already done all the work, you understand how hard it is, and you have made a solid contribution to the community. You can vote on any song because you are the community.  If someone like Robotmom, or Fabianosan say a song is good, that's all I need to know.

If you don't have that kind of skill, maybe you help the community in other ways, like making posts.  Posting suggestions or feedback, or anything helps build community.  Maybe you get one vote for every five posts or something.

If you get "thanks" you get 3 votes.  Something like that, because you helped someone enough to get thanks.

If you don't contribute anything to community, you don't get to vote.  You can download and lurk because you are not a problem, but you don't have enough "cred" to be allowed to vote.

    THIS

  6. If we could get an admin in this convo it would be great, they way we would do it is simply have a list of testers, each going like X song is verified by me. We would also comment on the cdlc page, saying that the custom is great. That way people can either A) Consult out list and go directly to the cdlc and download, or B) People browsing cdlc on their own will see our feedback. Like Olorin said.

  7. Oh, no one ever said it'd be easy :-P

But maybe a system like a library -- the author puts his work on a "shelf" and if someone else wants to work on it, he checks it out, (leaving a note or whatever), then puts it back on the shelf again (with another note in the thread). At a certain point, when the file is done, the "shelf" is closed -- since there is a point where no more work needs to be done on a file.

I don't imagine we're going to have dozens of people fighting to work on the same file.

This could work, posting on this "shelf" would mean you dont care about authorship, so whoever grabs it and finishes it can post it properly. If no one cares about a specific custom then yes, it would be left as a dead post, but that is the same as if it hadnt been posted in the first place.

Thing is, if a custom is submitted with gutiar only, adding the bass tabs is gonna be hard, you cant just import the tabs and sync the bass without altering the already synced guitar part. Still, the work of changing the audio file in WWise would be done, among other things, so it would still be less work for whoever wants to finish the custom.

  8. Im in too. Weekends as well.

How about making a post in which we add a link to customs we have tried and verified ourselves, not a final solution but its better than nothing dont you think?
