  1. you have to be careful when you get parts made in China. They do not use the same quality of Metal used in the USA. You might be able to take it out of the guitar and soak it in some degreaser. Maybe replace all the screws with stainless steel parts. You can check on ebay for an exact replacement too. I would not think it would be too difficult to replace, but you will need new strings and have to set action and intonation after you mess with it
  2. I got similar issues also when I installed the latest version. They are looking into it
  3. Yes, when I double click on it, I get the little circle (windows busy) and it hangs up file explorer. I tried it several times, removed old versions and it just hangs, but was fine when I did it on the laptop (windows 10). Laptop is Intel, pc is AMD if that helps.
  4. Tried it again on the pc after removing old versions and it just sits there with the hourglass when you run the setup program. The pc has windows 7 64 bit installed.
  5. It worked on my laptop and it did show the rs1 compatibility pack. Not sure why 'Walk This Way' by Aerosmith is not showing up, which is in RS2. It installed flawlessly on the laptop, so something changed. I will have to try it again on the pc. Thanks for the help! It is still having issues. First time I did the rescan, it showed ALL of the songs in the RS1 compatibility pack, but when I ran it a second time it shows only ONE, when I ran it again it is only showing 385 files like it did before, Then I got an exception error after playing around with it.
  6. That one just hangs up when I double click on it. I will try it on another pc and see if it does it there also.
  7. The version number did not change when I downloaded the latest after I installed it. Did the version number change? It still does the same thing
  8. I check this under the settings tab, but it clears it and does not show up even when rescanned. So none of my rocksmith 1 songs are showing up.

    New guitar!

I like! I would not mind replacing my Strat with one like that.
  10. I can't remember where they posted it, but clear the files from 'my documents/cfm'. I had exception errors every time I clicked the enable/disable tab, but after clearing that directory, it no longer happens.
  11. I use that webpage already to download, the latest ones are not working. no data received when clicking on the windows link for 5-28-15
  12. It has happened a few times. I keep deleting the files and downloading/unzipping the newest version. Any idea how to determine what is causing this? Surely I can't be the only one this is happening to.
  13. I have been getting the same error and also using avast. Happened on two different computers both using avast. How do you determine if avast is blocking/sandboxing? Mine was something to do with not finding a file though, not an access issue. 2015-05-30 19:26:51.9085 | RocksmithToolkitGUI.Program (INFO) : RocksmithToolkitGUI.Program.Main Version: 2.6.1.0-53fa62a9 OS: Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Command: "D:\Rocksmith\Programs\RocksmithCustomSongToolkit v2.6.0.0\RocksmithToolkitGUI.exe" 2015-05-30 19:27:12.5735 | RocksmithToolkitGUI.Program (ERROR) : RocksmithToolkitGUI.Program.<Main>b__1 SystemBoolean StartWithShellExecuteEx(System.Diagnostics.ProcessStartInfo)Exception catched: System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception The system cannot find the file specified Boolean StartWithShellExecuteEx(System.Diagnostics.ProcessStartInfo) at System.Diagnostics.Process.StartWithShellExecuteEx(ProcessStartInfo startInfo) at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start() at RocksmithToolkitLib.Extensions.GeneralExtensions.RunExternalExecutable(String exeFileName, Boolean toolkitRootFolder, Boolean runInBackground, Boolean waitToFinish, String arguments) in c:\projects\rocksmith-custom-song-toolkit\RocksmithToolkitLib\Extensions\GeneralExtension.cs:line 285 at RocksmithToolkitGUI.UpdateForm.installButton_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) in c:\projects\rocksmith-custom-song-toolkit\RocksmithTookitGUI\UpdateForm.cs:line 148 at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mevent) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ButtonBase.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): The system cannot find the file specified at System.Diagnostics.Process.StartWithShellExecuteEx(ProcessStartInfo startInfo) at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start() at RocksmithToolkitLib.Extensions.GeneralExtensions.RunExternalExecutable(String exeFileName, Boolean toolkitRootFolder, Boolean runInBackground, Boolean waitToFinish, String arguments) in c:\projects\rocksmith-custom-song-toolkit\RocksmithToolkitLib\Extensions\GeneralExtension.cs:line 285 at RocksmithToolkitGUI.UpdateForm.installButton_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) in c:\projects\rocksmith-custom-song-toolkit\RocksmithTookitGUI\UpdateForm.cs:line 148 at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mevent) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ButtonBase.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)
  14. It works on mine, but sometimes I see lag during play. But mine is a Lenovo Thinkpad u330. I never had any issues loading the game.
  15. I just figured it was a windows 8.1 issue since none of my other pc/laptops do it on windows 7. I think mine has a built in Intel graphics chip. I do notice that the game does slow down and not in sync with the music occassionally and I think it could be after one particular song is played. I am still working on that and will adjust the rocksmith.ini file as needed, but it does not occur all the time. Could be another windows 8.1 thing since that issue did not happen on my other systems either.
  16. I tend to have the opposite problem with the guitar being a bit on the low side. Have you tried recalibrating? There is also a guitar level adjustment somewhere within the settings and I always have mine maxed out. Maybe you need to lower that, but I think calibrating the guitar audio level should do the trick. I have windows 8.1 on my laptop and the only way I could hear the guitar notes is to tone down the audio/music from the mixer. Do you see unusual graphics at the top on a song that does not have more then one level? I see what looks like flickering levels up at the top but it does not affect my game play.
  17. I have Rocksmith installed on two devices, one a laptop and one a pc. The pc is a much stronger machine then the laptop. I am having a few issues with the sound on the laptop, but I have noticed that any changes that I make in the profile follow to the other device such as when I change the head stock from 3 + 3 to the 6 it changes it on the other. I use one guitar upstairs and two others down stairs. All three of them are different. One is a Strat, one is a Les Paul and another is a Dean. I think all three have suttle differences in their output and my guitar volume tends to differ. Is there a way to keep the setup profile from changing from one device to the other? I would like to keep the strat setup on the pc and the other two on the laptop. Or do I need to do the calibration each time? Will a second profile make a difference?
  18. It is pretty easy to do. Not sure about tuxguitar, but with guitar pro just load the guitar pro file and save the play as a wav file. Import the wav file or convert it to mp3 if needed for EOF and the guitar pro file into EOF and everything will already be in sync! EOF will generate the files that you need for the toolkit and you are all set. I have done it for a few songs for Rocksmith 1, but should work fine for Rocksmith 2014. Just no vocals.
