  1. Download the Revolution = 100%. Nooney has me beat by a few points and a video
  2. I remember Download the Revolution from a couple of years ago. This score was 99.83% after only a couple of passes. I'll have to go back an compare to how I did the first time (hoping to see improvement)
  3. A few scores... Pretend We're Dead - 100% on bass after 15 minutes of RR Shining Light = 99.7% on bass after 15 mins of RR. I've already re-tuned by bass-VI to EADGCF, so I'm not going back to perfect the missed note or two. The one sung by the Cookie Monster = 97.6%. This was a sight read
  4. Me & Bobby Mcgee on bass = 96.9% not a bad start.
  5. I just had to play Sleepwalk 'cus the Bass VI is built for surf music. 100% Having a 6 string bass, tuned EADGCF, I tried a couple of different fingerings to skip strings instead of move up and down the neck, but transposing on the fly just kept throwing me off.
  6. Miss Misery Link broken.. appears unsafe... VERY unsafe
  7. The Secret Agent Man has recovered from the neck extension surgery of a few weeks past. Now it is up to me to adjust to the Bass VI configuration (30" scale, 6 string spacing, E-e tuning one octave below standard). My playing has felt like a two week long train wreck, but I'm just getting the hang of it. Heartbreaker on bass > 99% As for The Scream. gNat has it at school for music class.
  8. The Scream has the new neck installed and the set-up had been done. It's ready for gNat to take it to school. I'd like some Championship player opinions on Secret Agent Man. The old neck had an overhang over the body at the heel. The new neck does not, leaving an unsightly gap between pickguard and neck. What should I do? 1) hide it with something black 2) cover the gap with a contrasting shiny thing 3) replace the pickguard with another 45 (e.g. Louie Louie) 4) make a larger pickguard out of a suitable LP (e.g. The Surfaris - Wipe Out) 5) leave it Edit 6) laminate the old 45 on top of a black LP and re-cut to match the neck heel B)
  9. Specifically a "Bass VI". The new necks are designed to drop in a standard neck pocket without needing to move the bridge or pick-ups. You just need to cut a new nut for thicker strings and voila, exactly one octave below standard tuning.
  10. And just to take some time out to actually play my bass... Black Honey = 99.4%
  11. @@Rodman - maybe this is more clear. Don't tell the FreeBird Police. Let them figure it out for themselves.
  12. Maybe the pic gives you the wrong impression. The 25.5" scale necks get removed, The 30.35" scale necks go in the same neck pocket with little or no carpentry. The string gauges, e to E, are 0.024" to 0.084". C'mon people, what am I building? Edit - Hint Edit2 - Hint2 scroll forward to start at 30 second mark
  13. Later, the FreeBird Police gather the courage to peek through the dirty window into the sub-terrainian FreeBird workshop to see... https://drive.google.com/open?id=1YuH8lKnXmZgriICC0C132UpWRSzdHJ8I Secret Agent Man and The Scream are on the slab bravely awaiting their fate. The FreeBird Police ask themselves "What in the world is that madman doing?"
  14. Scene: FreeBird Police Headquarters - two portly officers sit in a dull room eating stale donuts Rookie FBP Officer: Things have been really calm and restful here recently. All the rock 'n rollers are behaving like good little rock 'n rollers. Aren't you glad that that wonky FreeBird 2Groggy hasn't been around much? Old FBP Officer: DON'T SAY THAT NAME OUT LOUD! Rookie: What?? 2Groggy ??? Don't be superstitious. 2Groggy, 2Groggy, 2Groggy! Old Fat FBP Officer: NOOOOOOOOO! Meanwhile, in the sub-terrainian FreeBird workshop, 2Groggy and his minion gNat have meticulously assembled the required parts to give their respective garden variety partscasters "Secret Agent Man" and "The Scream", insidiously excruciating neck extensions. What are they building?
  15. FreeBird off-topic bad news from a reputable source: http://www.cbc.ca/news/entertainment/motorhead-fast-eddie-dead-1.4482622 RIP - the last of the original three Motorhead amigos
  16. This World is the only one that interests me this week. So here is my start in the chase for perfection (on bass 99.7%).
  17. Christmas season = crazy season, so this may be my only entry his week. Thanks noony for the great advance bass track. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1241671606 I normally refuse to play Christmas music on or after boxing day, but the Ventures are instrumental, and there is an instrumental version of Christmas in L.A., so I may make an exception. Merry Christmas to all.
  18. I've had a few quick run throughs of the basic, intermediate and advanced bass tracks... http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1234051535 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1234051559 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1234051584 ,,, but I won't go back and clean up the few misses because I want to focus on Intervals for the rest of the week. Keep an eye out for FreeBird droppings in the Masterclass Bass club house and watch where you step. ;)
  19. dammitmyspacebarisn'tworking after_an_hour_in_Riff_Repeater_Son_Of_A_Preacher_Man_on_bass_is_still_a_train_wreck_89%
  20. Next time you travel, try to stay at a Hard Rock they will lend you a guitar and an amp. Take your laptop with RS and some headphones and you'll never miss a beat. Two words... travel bass
  21. I've played Train in Vain on bass about 100 times, so trust me that I can post a screen shot with a score of 100% But how many of you can post this? - a picture of the back album art of London Calling from before they started listing the track FYI, Train In Vain is Track 5 on Side 4.
  22. I'd forgotten that I played this one last Saturday - Metric on bass = 100%. The rest of the song selections weren't my cup of tea, so I left them alone. But the real purpose of this post - Hail, Hail, Rock and Roll - AC/DC's cover of Chuck Berry's School Days http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1204539212
  23. More bad news RIP Malcolm Young Any of you that know me are expecting an off topic tribute. Stay tuned.
  24. IMPOSTER ^^^^^ There is only one Groggy! ;)
