  1. Many thanks to CDLC creators. I desire CDLC of "But It's Alright" by JJ Jackson, a hit on the pop and soul charts in both 1966 and 1969. I need the bass part, but the song offers a great rhythm guitar part, as well. Karaoke

I have begun playing tunes for Karaoke singing with Rocksmith 2014 (just for friends and family). I accompany the amateur singer with my bass guitar, along with the original artists. It has been great fun! Here is how I have set up for Karaoke. 1. Acer Aspire V15 (Laptop) running Rocksmith 2014. 2. Bass Guitar plugged into Fender Rumble 150 Amplifier. 3. Fender Rumble 150' s FX Affects Loop "Send" (output) connected to Laptop PC with the Rocksmith 2014 USB cable. 4. HDMI cable from Laptop PC to 46" Samsung HDTV. 5. Optical Cable out from Samsung HDTV into Karaoke Amplifier (Acesonic HKR-710). This provides three microphone inputs, with separate levels for singers and special effects for their voices (delay, repeat, echo, bass and treble), as well as amplifying the sounds of the original recording artists over some BIG speakers. There are many Official Rocksmith songs and a lot of songs contributed on Customs Forge that are great for Karaoke. There are a few songs on Customs Forge that are missing the lyrics, but hopefully that will be cured once people realize that many of us want/need the lyrics.
  3. I was using a Y cable for playing through PC laptop to TV via HDMI, as well as to my bass amp. As I understand it, the buzz is caused by a lack of common grounding for the various devices. I later discovered that my Fender Rumble 150 amplifier had a configuration that would eliminate the Y cable and solve the problematic buzz. I plug the bass directly into the amp with a standard cable. I then plug the Rocksmith cable into "Send" for the "Effects Loop" (without any return). The Rocksmith cable connects to the laptop PC and then to the TV, via HDMI cable. This set-up works great!
  4. It would be helpful if the site would expose the year of original publication of a song, and make this data column searchable and sortable.Music interests are somewhat generational, so this would help boomers like me, who are learning to play tunes of their past.
