  1. I'm not going to make a recommendation as I truly think guitars are a personal taste and feel different for all.....however I can tell you about the basses I tried and the reasons I have the ones I do......BTW I am by no means an accomplished player...

I started with a fender starcaster el cheapo....which was great for a first bass, did exactley what it said on the tin, but it was extremely heavy and because of my back I couldnt play it for long, so decided to try an Ibanez sr 500, instant chalk and cheese, really showed the flaes that the cheapo had, also extremely light and really versatile due to the ability to change boost switch to single pole etc, had it for around 18 months or so and wouldnt part with it, nice slim neck and profile, great for soulfull songs but just as good for heavier stuff.

    Onto five strings.......

My first was a schecter damien elite that I got for a steal....... oh man that thing was unreal in terms of tone and playability, really easy to gel with and great sounding on or off the game, also it just looked awesome on the wall beside my other guitars, unfortunately financial problems forced me to sell this one ( still deeply regretted) and once things were sorted I looked around for another 5 string........actually bought an Ibanez gsr 205 which I had tried in the shop and put on layaway....next month picked it up and took it home....... never got to try it in the game as the thing would not even tune......buzzing all over the neck, shop never supplied the tools to adjust anything and hadn't done any set up before it left the shop (JG windows in Newcastle ) took it back tried a couple of different gsr 205's with similar problems so walked away with my cash.

different shop and a different ibanez.... the gs 305......played it, loved it, very similar in feel to my sr 500 same sze body, same scale but wider neck (obviously)

sounds good on and off the game, nice and light and a nice smooth action after a little bit of personal taste tweaking. Plays most types of music......I just cant get the hang of pop n slap so cant really say if it does well with that style.....all 24 frets are easy to reach on either bass and easy to play sitting or standing......

so as I said not a recommendation but....... I love the feel of the ibanez for RS but would also gladly buy another schecter if the price was right

  2. on the filters search I'm trying to narrow by member and get nothing from any members.  If I browse and click on members sort (top of column) i get a tables error with a link to a tables website, clicking the up down sort feature does not seem to sort into any type of discernible order.

  3. pretty mixed feelings, amazing dlc pack :P ......free to bone and PSwhores   .... all console release :D  .......free to new console owners   .

4 versions bought since release.......over 1300 quid spent on upgrading pc equipment and sound systems and couple of grands worth of guitars/basses.....not one penny regretted.... but seeing an announcement which is basically "new customers only" sticks in my craw a bit.

Stoked to see jimi but the shine got knocked off somewhat.

Ps....been trying to post this for about 20 mins and it wouldnt post for some reason.

  4. Do we have anybody on here who is proficient with guitar pro and could do a help video for us, driving myself crazy trying to find tabs for a song and only finding printed tabs.

Ive found a version of a song which sounds great but cant get the guitar pro file anywhere.....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  5. gotten an asus X550LD with a coreI7 and dedicated graphics, 8gb ram, 1tb hdd,

runs better than my desktop, only niggle is the sound isnt the best through the speaker but plugging in 2.1 sorts this fine.

little bit pricier than i would have liked but it does what i want it to.

  6. 6, ibanez sr500, schecter hellraiser 5 string bass, schecter omen extreme, cheapo rockburn les paul, aria pro 2 (which i have stripped and refinished and couldnt part with now) and a westfield electro acoustic.

I would have had more but wifey put her foot down,

I have let go of a jackson dinky floyd rose, an ibanez SA360 qm, harley benton semi acoustic, fender starcaster bass and a couple of cheapo strat copies.

    All since rocksmith came out.

seem to have went through a few amps also.

  7. hi firekorn how are you doing with five string bass songs. I'm working 7 days a week mostly so have not had time to continue experimenting, still hoping to see a folder on here dedicated to alternate versions some time.

  8. Thinking about moving to a laptop from my desktop for playing Rocksmith on the move but not sure which laptops will be able to run RS without spending a fortune.

Can anybody who is using a laptop for RS2014 please list the Laptop they use and maybe a quick word on how well it runs and whether you have to reduce graphic settings etc. to be able to play.

Hopefully we can get a helpful list of laptops to help myself and others make a choice.

    Thanks in advance.
