  1. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832138366 Use promocode EMCPDW47 to save an additional 10%, which brings it down from 15$ to 13.50. This is the cheapest i've ever seen it go down to. NO CABLE INCLUDED. Game activates via Steam. EDIT: promo code no longer works
  2. Darn, shows up as 30$ for me. Must have missed the deal.
  3. Anyway, this is what it should look like (with possibly a bit of tweaking) after importing:
  4. Nice. Great to have someone offer to do these. How would you improve a tone? For example, I bang out a tone that sorta sounds decent. How would you go about improving how "close" it sounds? And also, it's not just the charters your helping. It's all the people that play the resulting creation!
  5. Try CTL M'ing the words? This will add that blue bar that groups them into one line.
  6. Also the "Download Rocksmith Toolkit" subforum link also goes to the release notes.
  7. Hindsite is 20/20. I thought all download links went to the release notes page at first. I can't write what the problem is if I don't fully understand it. I only started scratching my head trying to figure out where the loose nut was after I read fabiano's reply. And no. I use a PC. I know what your getting at though, I'm not retarded - it just so happens that i'm a bit slow at 4am (I'm on the east coast), but I do appreciate your help in clearing this "issue" up.
  8. @@Alex360 oh i meant the download link in the first post. It should point to the download, as opposed to the release notes. I had later realized (after I had posted my 2nd post) that the main toolkit site had a link that directly linked to the download and was in the middle of editing the 2nd post when you posted. But before I realized that, the average reader or person wanting to update would read the first post, click on download, which points to https://github.com/rscustom/rocksmith-custom-song-toolkit/releases, and get flooded with the complete history of the toolkit- when all they looking for is the download. I'm not asking you guys to remove the release notes. Now that I know the source of my frustration I am suggesting that you add release notes as a separate link in the first post. And changing download to point to http://www.rscustom.net/builds/latest.zip See where I'm coming from now? I do, however, maintain my suggestion that the release notes only show changes since the last release, with an option to "expand" any notes prior to the last release, to condense the post and keep things from being overbearingly long. But I really don't too much about it since I actually know where to find the download without hitting the release notes. I do hope you guys do start condensing when you reach release 10 or something, because most of that information on that page will be needlessly repeated over and over. Wow. I'm not sure what I even said in my 2nd post before I edited it, but man does your response really rub me the wrong way. Granted, I get where your coming from or what it seemed that I was suggesting based on what I thought the download link was taking me. But wow. Try to understand why I'd even say what I did a bit more? Turns out this is just a misunderstanding but wow.
  9. Oh. I meant more like: linking to the download AND also a link to the release notes in the first post of this thread. Kinda like how rscustoms.net has a big download button that goes right to the zip file.

    Tone Requests

Just wondering, but does anyone respond to these requests? If so, then perhaps there needs to be a way to mark people that have been helped so others who are good at figuring out tones (not me) don't waste their time.
  11. Hey guys, just a suggestion: Can you put the download link to the toolkit more to the top of the post in your site? Right now people have to scroll down like a ton of pages, release notes and such. Heck, even condensing the change log to only the changes since the last release would be a huge saver in scrolling. Or perhaps putting all that in a quote tag that only unfolds when you click on it.
  12. Yeah, I do realize that the clap triggers on note gems, which is really beneficial when syncing notes, however, it ruins the purpose when your trying to sync mutes. I want to be able to hear the strum/mute pattern, and I think the best way to do this is to prevent frethand mutes from clapping. I'd rather not delete all the mutes, just so i can't hear them. So, I'd like to suggest if you can add another setting/option to disable clapping on frethand mutes.
  13. I'm trying to make sure my frethand mutes are in the right place, but they're mixed in with a stream of other 16th notes. Do you think frethand mutes should clap since they're not exactly notes? Also... do you want suggestions here with new topics for each suggestion or mixed in as posts in the main eof releases thread?
  14. https://www.mediafire.com/folder/6s8ha9aaizmc4me,kbcto2u88sjg1ko/shared Here's one example. download both ass and ogg to the same folder. open your ass with aegisub and hit yes to load the associated files. You can sorta ignore the english styled lines, im planning on hacking the translations into rocksmith by loading them at the end of each line of the karaoke. I'll be splitting them up and stuffing them as tight as possbile, as seen here: http://i.imgur.com/a7vuDVM.jpg Ideally your import would automatically add whatever dash "-" syntax between syllables, as well as doing that ctl+m thing that groups the syllables into lines (or whatever eof needs to correctly display these lyrics with as little post-processing as possible) Let me know if you need a more specific example or something.
  15. Aegisub (http://www.aegisub.org/) has the ability to time karaoke lyrics - but it saves them as its own text-based format: ASS (Advanced Sub Station Alpha). Coming from an Anime fansub background, I (and hopefully everyone else here) will find it much easier to sync/split syllables in aegisub and time each individual syllable then bashing the space bar in ultrastar editors, and then spend hours dragging lines around in EOF, scrolling all over the place, and hitting CTL M over and over each time i tweak a line ending time. If EOF can support importing these ASS files (which are the basically the successor to the SRT format), then I'll probably advance lyric creation/editing in EOF by providing a more streamlined workflow. Example line of an aegisub karaoke line: Dialogue: 0,0:00:41.81,0:00:44.66,Default,,0,0,0,,{k40}se-{k18}no-{k38}bi {k29}shi-{k49}te {k17}i-{k35}tan-{k59}daDialogue: 0,0:00:44.92,0:00:51.62,Default,,0,0,0,,{k14}ku-{k18}tsu-{k34}zu-{k34}re {k29}da-{k35}ra-{k53}ke {k182}no {k16}se-{k56}ma-{k54}i {k30}se-{k54}ka-{k31}i {k30}deThe first two numbers are the times which the line - with the syllables that go along with the sentence - is visible The rest of the commas after are formatting, styling, and fonts, which we don't care about. The good part starts when the {} brackets show up. These signify special commands. k or kf or ko are karaoke tags which break down a line into words/syllables. They have special appearances inside of aegisub, but for all purposes of EOF importing, they're all the same. the number immediately after the k tag signifiies the number of centi-seconds (100centi-seconds = 1 second) which the following syllable is "active", after this amount of time passes from the start of the line, the syllable goes inactive and it activates the next k tag, and so on until the entire line is done. Anyway, while EOF can do all this, you have do manually split each syllable one by one in ultrastar OR by the edit lyric function. Aegisub also supports cut n paste with the windows clipboard, which allows charters to grab an entire song lyric and paste it into aegisub and start synchronizing the times - without having to start all over. I'm currently experimenting with aegisub and massaging the contents and doing a save-as srt - but native support for the ASS format would be ideal if that is possible. (Yes, one more thing on your to-do list, if you think this idea has value.).
  16. How about something dumbed down to more of a "recommended" anchor zone? 1) count the number of notes for each pitch a guitar is capable of out of a given selection of notes (not including slides and other guitar techniques) 2) for each anchor zone, figure out what pitches are possible - some sort of hardcoded reference array? 3) recursively loop through 20 anchor zones looking for the fret position with the most number of possible notes. Each anchorzone array adds up whatever variables you stick the count of notes for each pich? Whatever array has the greatest sum wins? Granted its been decades since I've last programmed something, but it seems feasible?
  17. Sometimes I want to see if a tab can be played easier. For example, your at the 24th fret playing the low E string note, and it suddenly charts it as an open note on the high e string. Would it be possible to implement a button combination like shift up/shift down to move a note from its current position whatever fret is that note on the strings above or below? For example: the 2nd string 5th fret, if you push shift up, it changes to an open 1st string note. Another interesting feature idea would be something that tries to find the optimum frets for a certain selection of notes, to minimize the number of anchor position shifts. Example: If there's a tab that has a crazy solo sequence that jumps everywhere on a single string, when it can be broken down into multiple strings, with minimal anchor position shifts.
  18. chordify has like a 2 song limit or something like that.
  19. Perhaps they're just waiting until customs "fatten up"... after all, Rocksmith is still a small fry in their eyes.... but as we grow, the less privacy the big charters have, the worse it'll be for them... For example, one charter focuses on metallica customs.... their lawyers get wind of it after this charter releases like all their albums... sues just that one charter for copyright infringement, and they notice they have his email address in the custom. They subpena gmail for his ip address and other information. They now have said charter's name. Boom, thats evidence they can submit in court. They say that this guy has pirated all their songs and they slap $$1000,000k times whatever number songs they have evidence that he uploaded - thanks to the handy "jondoe@gmail.com" thing at the end of each custom. So yeah... no thanks to tagging our own customs.
  20. Sounds like a great way to have the copyright lawyers find your information to sue you.
