  1. Agreed. I'd see a doctor, because this sounds like it could be a nerve issue (such as neuritis), and aggravating it (if it indeed nervous in scope) could lead to irreparable damage and loss of feeling in the affected extremities.. It could be a splinter, but who knows. Better safe than sorry.
  2. What's up guys? Can anyone help me figure out the tones used in this song? There is just so much going on, and the guitar tone seems so complex that it's difficult for me to determine how to recreate it (if I even can), same goes for the bass. I just need the Lead guitar (the actual guitar lol) and the bass, since I've decided NOT to include the rhythm guitar in my CDLC since it's a Z-Tar and it's essentially playing synth lines. You'll understand what I mean once you hear the song. But here's a youtube link, and a link to my workshop (I have a test version of the song there for download, but you'll probably need low gauge strings if you intend to play it). Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNtYRzVteeg http://customsforge.com/topic/13687-rivinhals-musical-workshop/?p=106627
  3. I play bass, so it really depends on the song I'm playing. But if I'm not using my fingers, and I want a hard attack I use Fender 346 medium pick. If I want a softer attack, I got with Dunlop Gator Grip 2.0mm. Generally I use my fingers for funk/jazz/etc., the Fender 346 for punk/metal, and the Dunlop GG2mm for anything that's kind of "in between" the two sounds. http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-346-White-Guitar-Picks-101243723-i1123739.gc http://www.guitarcenter.com/Dunlop-Gator-Grip-Standard-Guitar-Picks-110310-i1123519.gc
  4. EDIT: I decided to follow the crowd, and change this to a personal workshop page, since I've got another CDLC ready for testing already! Hey guys, I'm a new CDLC creator here, just looking for some testing on my songs, because I don't play guitar (I play bass) so it's hard for me to judge whether or not my Lead/Rhythm arrangements/tones/etc. are correct. So ANY guitarists that would like to help out and test some stuff out, I'd really appreciate the assistance! I'd also appreciate any feedback on what songs people would like for me to create! If you have a request, let me know and I might create it if I get the chance! Thanks guys! Completed - Shinedown - Save Me Job for a Cowboy - Entombment of a Machine Job for a Cowboy - Bearing the Serpent's Lamb Anata - Under Azure Skies Through the Eyes of the Dead - Force Fed Trauma Job for a Cowboy - The Rising Tide Job for a Cowboy - Suspended by the Throat Job for a Cowboy- Knee Deep Bury Your Dead - Magnolia Atreyu - Dilated Atreyu - Demonology and Heartache WIP/Current Work/Planned next song- I'm about to start work on either Atreyu's: Five Vicodin Chased with a Shot of Clarity OR Atreyu's: A Vampire's Lament Bands/Songs I want to work on- More Bury Your Dead More Atreyu -CDLC That Needs Testing!- ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Here's my 2nd CDLC song, and my first from The Beatles. 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds'. Right now, I'm only aware of one particular issue (one note is off during the bass arrangement). But let me know what you guys think! https://mega.co.nz/#!c9kjyLTQ KEY = 3PBWp2l1jZx7TNWiAUmRf3opi5TUq6obI1b_52X1Xr4 ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ My 3rd CDLC, 'Ocean Breathes Salty' by Modest Mouse! As usual, there are a few issues with the bass arrangement timing, but I'm going to fix that soon enough! Here ya go: https://mega.co.nz/#!slkSlBTR KEY = WA3HbWk3XkWTGfUzyWlp1iScmhiaUZPkN_Z7XVjn6nk ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ CDLC #4! 'Bury Me With It' by Modest Mouse! Issues I'm aware of: A few times during the bass arrangement, the chart loses sync and is about a half of a second fast. As always, Guitarists, I could use your assistance (and have fun with the Rhythm arrangement lol, that tab looked insane, but then again I'm horrific at playing chords). https://mega.co.nz/#!Ahk1WAIS KEY = Tmr2G-LKuBqnRhdDD3OzYtOB_vm0rmZfnBfsIOVgQCY ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ CDLC #5 'Brand New Love by Deadsy' Recommendations: The song is in Drop A tuning, so low gauge strings are recommended. Issues I'm aware of: Right now the entire bass arrangement (and probably the guitar as well) need some shifting done, as some sections of the song lose sync momentarily. https://mega.co.nz/#!R9UQCA7R KEY = ngUGfu9AAGp1HW7wnJ6t_foTSPrhnQAXbBMkoh4uDUk ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ UPDATE: I recently purchased Go PlayAlong, so hopefully the timing errors for all of these CDLC should be ironed out as fast as I can get to them! (So they can be removed from here and submitted!) I'm going to work on the few CDLC on my worklog list, and then I'll return to update all of the "demo" CDLCs uploaded here. But I hope you guys like em, and let me know what you think! I'll be eagerly awaiting your feedback!
  5. OH. I didn't realize that's what those arrows were for (I had just been using theme to mark phrases and stuff)! I had just been shifting entire portions of the notes and lining them up properly once the BPM was set lol. I actually watched a tutorial on here and that's how they said to do it, so I never really questioned it, but I'm glad I know now, because the way you're explaining sounds WAY easier. I appreciate the help man. I'll definitely do that from here-on out on my next CDLCs. Unrelated, but at this point do you think this track is ready to be posted to the "submitted" category? And if so, do you know how to make a submission post? I just don't know how to make that link that every submission has that takes you to the full information page about the song...
  6. I'm going to sound super new here, but what do you mean when you say "I suggest lining up the beat markers with the beat of the music when starting future songs."? Also, yeah I'm still trying to figure out how to use the Dynamic Difficulty Creator lol, but as soon as I do I'll start using it, as I'd much prefer my songs to have multiple difficulties. But thanks man. I'm glad. Now I just gotta figure out how to post it in the submission page (since I don't know how to make a "Click here to view the record" link rofl) and I'm gonna start working on finishing up my next song.
  7. Hey can I get any feedback on the rhythm track? I'm pretty sure it's pretty much ready to be sent to the "submitted" section, but I just want a bit more feedback...
  8. I'll reupload it just to be sure, because it obviously isn't if it's missing the leading silence (be aware however, the "good" version only has about 4 seconds of silence before the song starts, so it's not LOTS of silence, it's just better than it was, as before it literally started instantly). When I went to upload it, it said V1_p.psarc but I swear I had drag/dropped it from the right file so I renamed it, but I guess I messed up! I SORELY apologize and I'll be uploading the correct version in just a second. I feel like such an idiot. I made all these great changes and then I went and uploaded the wrong version... Ugh. I'll correct the link in just a moment and make an edit to my original post noting the fact that it's the correct version. But please check it out for me ladies and gents! I apologize for all the problems! I'm totally new to all of this and just wanted to make a song I liked and I hope you guys like it too.
  9. Thanks man, I appreciate the incoming feedback! And yeah, I couldn't believe they left this song out of the DLC (it's probably my favorite by Shinedown) so I really wanted to make it happen. Right now I think it's pretty much perfect except for a section during the bass part where the song de-syncs momentarily (though it re-syncs after a couple of seconds) and I'm working on fixing it right now, but other than that I'm pretty sure it's all perfect. But tbh I'm not 100% on that because I don't play guitar, but on my "playthough" of lead and rhythm it looked pretty good. So definitely let me know what you think!
  10. New version available! Let me know what you guys think!
  11. Thanks man I appreciate the feedback. And cool I'll keep that in mind, that way everyone who is interested in the release version of the song has access to it. But that's really odd about the phrases and the fingerings/chord shapes, as I actually applied all of that before I saved it I thought, (maybe I did it on the Rhythm and forgot the lead? Hmmm... I feel dumb now) because I was following a walkthrough (one here on Customsforge, I can't remember the guy's name who made it though lol) to do it, so that's strange that it didn't take effect. But oh well. Live and learn right? But thanks, I'm glad you could help out! I'll keep this version up just so someone can test out the Rhythm part and let me know any possible improvements that could be made to it as well, but in the meantime I'll be fixing the bass part (adding in leading silence) and I'll try my best to work in the fixes you outlined (I'll doublecheck the rhythm just in case) so hopefully I'll have a new test version up soon enough!
  12. Hey guys! This is my first custom song ever, and I was looking to get some feedback on it before I even think about releasing it. Basically, I play bass guitar (and other than forgetting to insert silence in the beginning of the song, resulting in the song beginning immediately, which only affects the bass) I'm pretty sure the bass is spot on, but since I don't play guitar at all I have no idea about it, and it'd be great to get some feedback on the song while I'm fixing the whole "silence" issue (so bassists don't kill me!). If people like it and stuff I'll probably work on different difficulties for it and maybe even start making more songs. Right now there are parts for Lead, Rhythm, and Bass guitar, but it's only for PC (I'm not sure how to make songs for other formats yet!) Thanks for any help! EDIT: New version up that should address a few issues hopefully (leading silence is fixed, so the bass is spot on now, and the fingering/chord/vibrato issues on the Lead guitar part has been addressed. Let me know what you guys think and what can be improved! EDIT 2: New link with new v1.1: https://mega.co.nz/#!kck1zZDB Key: cG5tMX7l2FlvFfKk8239rL8B1WvVvBMxJB90yzZxlYk
