  1. This is a longshot, but if you find yourself in Toronto on Sunday March the 8th and want to see some great young bands play come by the Duke. The Duke is at 1225 Queen St. E (Queen and Leslie), easily accessible by street car. A very close friend of mine had a heart attack late last month and is still in hospital. Since he's not going to be able to work, I'm organizing a benefit concert for him. We have 2 bands playing - 9 Lives and Counting - great hard rock and Reverse Grip - a band that proudly wears the GNR influence. The show starts at 730. There's a $10 Cover charge, Pints and Bar Drinks are $5 and we will be having a 50/50 draw and raffles for prizes like music lessons, coffee at Toronto's best coffee shop - Tango Palace - theres a dinner for 2 price. If you're around come check it out. you can check out the event page at https://www.facebook.com/events/756388371105451/?ref_dashboard_filter=upcoming 9 Lives and Counting can be heard at http://www.reverbnation.com/ninelivesandcounting Reverse Grip at http://reversegriprock.com/
  2. Thanks for the responses. I just didn't want to bother the charters for what is probably a miniscule problem.
  3. Hopefully this is a quick question. How can I add lead time to songs? Some of my favourite CDLC songs just jump right to the notes, which throws me off for the entire song. Can I alter a CDLC to add the 3 second delay?
  4. I tried to turn on RS today to receive the following message: File corrupted! This file has been manipulated and maybe it's by a Virus or cracked. This file won't work anymore. What the WHAT!? Has anyone had this? How can I fix this? I did a search, but all that came up were corrupted game saves.
  5. I haven't heard anything directly, but I would assume that Vinnie Paul (drums) really wouldn't have liked the take Rex presented.
  6. @trog, not sure if it's related but today was the first time I went for the mixer and set music to 75% with my bass at 100. I managed to finally 100% Next Girl, I Wanna Rock and Gone Away. Everything just flowed through me today, was AWESOME. So Thanks! I'll also apologize for the humble brag in there, wasn't really intential.
  7. @, that's what I figured, but wasn't sure. It is, but it's got a stretch that just kills my hand. I'm going to try and get a score by the weekend.
  8. Thanks for letting me know I - 99.5 with a 220 streak http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/539626645667612198/32891820BDE3C584265A320A22A2950BA290006F/ Now heres a question, my next play was a lower percentage/higher score. Should I post that one? B - 99.77 I think a lot of the time I was doing better at actually hitting those triplets than previously http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/539626645668245231/9AB860414F085FE53D0687B90126E1C3412FF7D7/ A - ACTUALLY have a score!!!! WOOT 88.66 http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/539626645668248329/FAF0AEBFB72481CB87DDB3B6B6527E9043FA91EE/
  9. Today has been an epic good day playing two 100s (not comp songs) and 2 best runs of MaryJane I - 99.5 with a 220 streak. http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/539626645667612198/32891820BDE3C584265A320A22A2950BA290006F/
  10. That is the probably the greatest answer anyone could provide!
  11. I was wondering if anyone here has some tangible goal for what they hope to achieve with their instrument? For me, my goal was to get up on a local stage and play a few songs by the end of summer. It doesn't look like I'm going to make that, but SOOOOON. Beyond that, I just want to learn how to play, some theory of why to play and have a kickass time dropping low tones on people.
  12. Haven't read anything from that era, but Rex Brown's Book 101 Proof was a good read. Even if he was a little generous to himself.
  13. I wish RS was better at detecting individual notes during a long string of the same, I think my Story of My Life score should be lower. Mary Jane, I'm happy with and I failed out of Dimension. I tried Dimension and Metallica in LAS so I thought I would be able to post scores with SA, but now I don't want to try Metallica in SA. B - 99.174% http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=314267827 I - 98.76 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=314267951 A - Failed no Screenshot MC - 94.4 LAS http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198110238464/screenshot/539626645583516415 This is actually closer to 74% because song wasn't fully levelled
  14. I'm Shannon, from Toronto. I'm hear because my wife is awesome. Last year, I bought her a leather jacket for her birthday and on our way home we got caught in a brutal rain storm. We were across the road from a music store and so we went in. I had been going on for about a year about how much I wanted to play again. I fully intended to just tool around for a bit, but we ended up with a Squier P-Bass starter kit. I started playing around with some tab books, online tabs and a resource I haven't heard anyone here mention, songsterr. It's a great tool - I highly recommend it. Anyway, I got bored a bit, so I demoed RS. Liked it and bought it and 14 when steam had the fall sale. Found smithy's, was digging the customs, but then I don't know what happened but there was some real negativity going on. I left the site around the time, CF was announced and focused on Bandfuse, which sadly died, but was great in it's own way. (Not trying to start a flame war, but I do prefer the tones in BF). I just came back to RS about 2 weeks ago and decided to check the customs out again. So here I am. My goal is to get up at a local bar's open jam and play 2 or 3 songs in the next few weeks.
  15. AH! But I'm a righty, so internet porn wouldn't help me
  16. Incremental improvements, but still I'm happy Sultans - 96.98% with a 407 streak http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=312789301
  17. Looking at everyone's scores in inspiring! Good job to everyone. I can't even get the hammer ons in Tribute down. But Sultans is coming along nicely.
  18. I guess most often I play for about 45 minutes 3 or 4 times a day. Other days, I hit a groove and I look up and it's been 3 hours. I had a few days like that about a week and a half ago and since then I've only been able to get about a half hour in, unless I stick to simple things that are more around the 7th and 9th frets as oppossed to the 3rd and 5th. Also thanks for the response Jack.
  19. Hello fellow music gamers, I just wanted to see if anyone else finds that they suffer from hand fatigue really quickly while playing. I notice it a lot when I am playing songs at full speed and especially down tuned songs. Sometimes, it might happen during my first song, other days I can go for a good 2 hours. This doesn't happen when I'm practising scales or doing slower tab playthroughs. I do try to relax my hand, and use less pressure. I've even lowered the action on my bass so that a gentle touch is all that's needed, but sometimes that just doesn't work for me. Any tips from long-time players
  20. Not a guitarist, but the first song that made me want to give up my metal growls for an instrument was "Unsound" by the Headstones. It was the first time I saw the bass really take the spotlight and I still love that tune.
  21. Ok, in that case I think I'm probably a beginner. If I score well enough next week, I'd be ok bumping to Intermediate, but let's see how I do with harder songs.
  22. I really dug it. Love that it's got a real old school pure rock n roll feel. Good job and thanks for sharing.
  23. @@Mortalo - Since I've entered into all levels minus MC does that mean only my advanced score will count?
  24. Sultans of swing SA - 94.66 with 1 Strike http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=311377170
  25. Ok, sorry Mortalo. I was just posting as I went, didn't mean to make more work for you
