  1. @@Vodka Just thinking about it, I didn't play the mutes as palm mutes. I don't know what the term is, but I played them as left hand mutes. I was in position to play the chord, but wasn't pressing down to actually fret the strings, just resting on them and muting them instead, and so got the mute that way. I might be wrong, but I thought that's how that one was supposed to be played, rather than the palm mutes. Having said that, I still won't have got them all :)
  2. @@Vodka you are assuming my play was better than yours. I thought it sounded reasonable and I tried to do the pauses and to get the mutes in where possible, but I will have missed lots. It sounded ok, the rhythm of the playing was sort of there, but I bet it wasn't any better than yours. I think the best way to put it would I would be happy playing it like that for my family to listen, because the general rhythm was there, it sounded ok, but I would never have played it like that for someone outside of family.
  3. Last update for the week on Int Lead too. Not competitive, but at least not embarrassing any more :) Int Lead - 84%
  4. An update on beginner lead. Probably my last update Beginner Lead - 97.65%
  5. @@Vodka - I did it too :) I'm a tiny bit behind you on the score, but I'm not going to chase that down. I'm just happy with the 100% Beginner Rhythm - 100%
  6. @@Vodka, Great job man! I haven't had a chance to try again yet. I'll give it one last go now maybe.
  7. Man II'm sure you will beat that =) Hey @@Vodka, I can't quite get there at the moment. I can do the same accuracy as you, but with a shorter streak - Beginner Rhythm - 99.86% Unbelievably I can do longer streaks and higher scores too - But I just can't put them together. My hands and brain are too tired now, maybe I'll try again later in the week :)
  8. Man II'm sure you will beat that =) @@Vodka - I think @@franfit is going to do the 100% and beat us both. Come on Franny!
  9. @diddie17 http://memesvault.com/wp-content/uploads/Challenge-Accepted-Face-10.png @@Vodka Great Score! I don't think I can beat that. It took me hours to beat your first score. I'll give it a try tonight, but I won't be holding my breath :)
  10. After lots of work in RR, I've managed to raise the intermediate lead score a bit. If not respectable, it's getting less embarrassing at least. I cant' get through even easy on SA, so I'm having to do LAS. I've had the same 77% the last 4 times I've played it, which either means I'm topped out, or I'm consolidating ready for the next push. Intermediate Lead 77%
  11. An update on beginner lead. I don't think there's much more in it for me to be honest. Beginner Lead - 96.14% And a first score on beginner Rhythm. I had to work really hard to give @@Vodka some competition. Beginner Rhythm - 99.33% Next up is to work in the Intermediate lead. I've been putting it off to be honest after that initial 56%, but it has to be done :(
  12. Starting scores. Hopefully it gets much better from here, especially in the intermediate. Beginner Lead - 89.61% Intermediate Lead - 56% :(
  13. @@franfit Hey Franny we missed you this week. It must be bad if you are not well enough to play! Hope you feel better soon.
  14. @@NunoJBSilva.Guitarist In true rock n'roll style, there are some options here not to follow the rules :) You can play and submit scores to whatever class you like, regardless of the class you are allocated to. You will see others doing that all of the time. There is also the freebird system if you don't want to feel tied to a class. If you want to focus more on getting the best sound rather than the best scores, why does it matter what class your scores indicate you should be in and are allocated to? Just play what you want and submit the score. You score might not count in that class, but if the sound is what is important to you rather than the score, then it's no big deal.
  15. @@Brutus Erectus - I haven't played this song and so don't know, but if the song doesn't have Dynamic Difficulty (DD), then normally there is no problem submitting a score attack on easy or medium, to get around the 3 big X's, and to allow you to register a score :)
  16. @@Brutus Erectus You definitely don't need to start at beginner. It's best if you jump in where you think you fit. TBH if you go back to the earlier classes you just mess up the scoring for those that are competing there. You should at minimum be starting in Advanced, but more likely M/C Best to post the score at the end of a Score Attack. You get the decimals on the percentage accuracy that way, and sometimes that .1 of a percent matters :)
  17. @@Vodka for the Depeche Mode song, I was struggling with the slides from the 4th fret to the 2nd fret on the purple e string. Is that what you are having issues with too? It took me a long time to get through that section, and I might be wrong, but I thought the recognition in learn a song was better than in score attack. Try it in learn a song and see if you can get 100%. I think 99.03% is just 2 notes off! It is a strange week really. with the exception of those slides, the beginner song is really easy, and the like you I find the Deep Purple song hard. Both guitar intermediate songs are way beyond me this week too. As @ said though the only thing you can do is fight it. If you are struggling with the same slides as I was, let me know, I'll have to go play it again, but I found a couple of things and timings that seemed to help.
  18. Some improvement on both the rhythm tracks. Beginner rhythm - 88.9% Intermediate Rhythm - 81.03%
  19. A couple of updates, although I don't see me making a lot of progress with either of these. The Deep Purple song is strange and I just can't reach those longer chords, and the Int song is just too fast for me in the chord changes for both rhythm and lead. Beginner Rhythm - 81.51% Int Rhythm - 78.55%
  20. After struggling with the note recognition on the slides, I finally put together a run that stuck the whole way through. It might have been in my head, but I think the note recognition issues I was having on the slides was worse in score attack than learn a song. If I went into riff repeater or learn a song, I could get them recognised most times, but in score attack, different story. I hate posting learn a song scores, so I kept going with the score attack, but if anyone else is struggling with the slides, try learn a song instead, it might be a bit easier to get them recognised. Beginner Lead - 100%
  21. Beginner lead is on the easy side this week, but I'm tearing my hair out at the note recognition on a couple of the slides. I can do it every time in riff repeater, but they don't seem to get recognised on score attack. For now anyway - Beginner Lead - 99.03%
  22. @@NunoJBSilva.Guitarist You're wasted in Intermediate too :) I'v never been in a position to worry about it, but I think over 99% is an automatic promotion to the next class up. Looks like you belong in at least the Advanced class :) One day I'll make it out of beginner :P I think so. At least is what is said on the rules. You say that you never make out from beginner but I saw that you have 2 champion trophies. Should that take you out to the next level? I wish! Nope, those are weekly awards. All that means is that I have had the highest score in a round in the past.
  23. @@NunoJBSilva.Guitarist You're wasted in Intermediate too :) I'v never been in a position to worry about it, but I think over 99% is an automatic promotion to the next class up. Looks like you belong in at least the Advanced class :) One day I'll make it out of beginner :P
  24. @@NunoJBSilva.Guitarist I think you're wasted in the beginner section :D Just as a hint, the beginners have abandoned the beginner section this week and are competing in the intermediate as we found it easier and more fun to play than the beginner song :) Give the Intermediate a go, I'm fairly certain it won't give you any problems.
  25. An early evening update. Might get time to play later, but in case not - Intermediate Lead - 97.02%
