I have been playing bass for 14 years.

Now i want to learn to play guitar however i'm  running into something i dont know how to do

and that is a power chord and skipping a string see the image so how do i do this ?

Hello there, I'm not sure if this is the right spot for this question but I'm getting really wierd bugs on some tracks that I downloaded from the CDLC. I play bass btw. The notes are correct, but on the wrong string. For example if a riff is played on the E string in the song, the notes are on the A string in Rocksmith. Its mostly the disturbed songs like Bound, Awake and Ten Thousand Fists. Anyone know whats going on?

when i make CDLC songs sometimes the Guitar pro file uses a 5 string bass that you have to change in EoF.

if you change the string number from 5 to 4 sometimes the notes go 1 string down i think that is what caused the problem for your songs.

11-52 would do the trick. Depends somewhat on the scale length of your guitar and how tight you want the tension to be.

 

By the way, Sylosis uses this gauge in E-standard to give them a heavy sound, but this required quite much from the neck of the guitar since the tension is going to be about 25% bigger.

i just got a guitar a couple of months ago (i have been playing bass for 14 years)

now i want to play some Amon Amarth songs and some songs with C# tuning

what kind of string gauge do you recommend ?

I'd hate to try a B tuning, C# is bad enough and C is almost unplayable. I'll probably have to go for thicker strings to play those songs.

Or a 5 string bass :)

what i was wondering is the Tones for the guirars mostly have the gain turned up all the way

is there a way for me to put the gain down on that tone ?
