  1. Stupid She Wolf... Actually the song gets better while playing and listening to it several times. At least I got past the 90%. But it's still hard and very difficult.
  2. Finally made a play through of the She Wolf, and damn she is a hard one! I think it's higher than "intermediate" level. But at least I get better at making octaves. And it seems I can't get the other ones any better. Deap Vally is a bit annoying, for I'm sure I play it better, but some notes seems to be missed, though I'm sure I play them...
  3. I must admit, that the She Wolf is really pulling teeth... Now I managed to play it at 95% speed with only around 50 misplaced notes. So tomorrow I'll begin playing it at tempo. Today (and with yesterday) I only managed a slight improvement on Def Leppard... and only on the Score and the Streak. But I'm stille happy about the Accuracy. It's okay.
  4. Had another go. The She Wolf is really hard (for me). Now I managed to get through at 80% speed... (with only around 100 missed notes). But Deap Vally was okay: And Def Leppard went also quite nicely. I can do it better... but it's only monday. And again I got lucky. I think, if I can get around 95% right, then it's not 8 in difficulty. It doesn't sound very good, but I have a feeling of the song...
  5. Had a minor try on this weeks songs. Forgot to make screenshot of Deap Vally, but had some fun with Def Leapard. And then came the She Wolf. WTF?! I'll have to practice those octaves all week. I had no flow, and played it at half tempo... and still with a lot of mistakes. But I got lucky with Daft Punk... but I think it was due to... well... luck.
  6. I must admit, I haven't heard about the deadline (but looking it up now, I see it clearly ), except when the next weeks competition has started. It's not intended to "leapfrog" anything.I was just lucky with my play through at this moment. Usually I wait for the next day with posting, due to the slowness of this webpage in the evening, but saturday I post it more or less "live", due to the deadline. Please notice, that I live in Europe, so 7pm CET is prime time for my playing. On the other hand I seldom start the new competition until Sunday evening.
  7. Also Joe Cocker got a bit better... still rather tough song.
  8. Uh... did my Nightwish even better. Hopefully before end of this weeks championship.
  9. I actually managed to improve all my play throughs today, though some not so much. I went away from the Simantl shimel schmie.. what-ever method with Joe Cocker. And with my lazy eyes, I couldn't beat the high score, but my accuracy was better. There are some rather easy places where my streak get broken, even though I'm playing it right. That's rather annoying. And it has happened multiple times now. And finally my Nightwish. I have some issues with my notes being heard. I think it's because the bass gets out of tune due to the strings setting set after tuning it down... But again... streak broken in simple places (as well as the difficult ones).
  10. I didn't have much succes with the "Simandl"-fingering, but I'll have a go more with Joe Cocker... But I did have some succes with my lazy eyes... Though I still gets off the flow a few times... when things suddenly changes.
  11. I must admit, that I think the "easy" songs are rather difficult on bass this week. Thank goodness, that I have moved to intermediate level. I tried the beginners anyway, and first Joe Cocker... Damn, it's hard to play it all the way through! And it gets a bit boring as well. I am wondering if I should learn the "Simandl" way of fingering here. The other "Beginner" is also rather long, but you get the feeling... and then suddenly something completely different, and your streak is broken. I'll have to work on that part. And finally the intermediate... and also my favorite. Though the tuning is a bit annoying. And it takes a long time before the bass is actually in tune. But it is fun and I like the music very much. That makes it easier as well.
  12. Yeah... I'm ready to move up. And I'm looking forward to play some Nightwish.
  13. Hmm... last post was a day older, but I seem to have forgotten to press submit... Oh well... Yesterday I managed to get one of the song a bit better. But it was a frustrating process. Especially while the problems where a long way in to the song. So I had to play a lot before getting failing the usually place. But I'm very happy with the result:
  14. It seems like this page is a bit pressed during the evening (European time). Anyways... I didn't do the "easy" songs any better, but I had some success (relative) with the advanced song (not sure about the categories anymore).
  15. Thanks @jellisjenius. I took a look in the big monstrous leaderboard-file, and behold! Week 62 is a lot like this week. Bass is playing (as you said) Say It Ain't So for beginner (rated as 3 back then) and Cash Cow as intermediate (rated 4). These are also the songs I've been practicing. First the beginner song: It was a rather fun song to be playing. The intermediate is a bit more trivial, but also a bit hard on my poor fingers (left hand wanking the bass). But also a fun song... and it went quite okay. I think I'm ready to move to the intermediate level. Yes, I'm rather new to the bass, but I've played a lot of music (classical), so I'm learning rather fast. I also tried the advanced one, but not much luck there... My game also crashed a lot of times with this song (usually in practice mode, before beginning the song). I'm not sure I want to try the Song-thingy-fixer, since I had to uninstall it anyway to play the game. And I'm quite a long way from this level anyway.
  16. I must agree... It's to soon to replay those already. They were not that funny. About the leveling. I'll see how it goes this week. But I was hoping for new songs...
  17. I play a five string bass, but the game does not really support it (or I haven't found out how). In theory you don't need to do a tuning to play, say drop D... but you'll mentally have to read the frets as two lower (and move the last notes to the 5th string). How do you get around that problem?
  18. Some late (European time) practicing. I can't seem to get the Ink higher... well, my former 100% was okay, but others seems to get a higher score. So I guess I have to be more precise. But the other songs went quite nice. I've got a feeling of the rhythm, but there's still a bit of luck (i think). And this Powerwolf... I don't know how I managed it, and again, I'm not sure, that those fast notes are precise in any way. But somehow it still counts. Maybe I should learn the picky-thing. And finally... some money. What all musicians would like... And this is why, I'm not in the big leagues. But it's a fun song... and damn hard. But I'm happy with the result.
  19. Since you're all still sleeping (or working ), I get to post again. I think, that this Coldplay should maybe be difficulty 1. Do you even have a song, called difficulty 1? But it went very well this time. I couldn't do a better Evanescence, but I managed to get Powerwolf a bit better. But I don't think the computer quite follow a real counting... I think that Powerwolf and Evanescence should be the same level. Evanescence is not that fast, but has an insane rythm, that I still haven't quite figured out. While Powerwolf is simple, yet very fast. And I'm still not using pick...
  20. I'll stay at the beginners level at least a while... So I had a few acceptable results yesterday. I'll have a go again to day. This is not such a difficult song, but sometimes the program don't hear my strumming. But the other "beginner" song is much more difficult! I have an okay score, but I think it is because it doesn't really hear my rythm. I have no Idea what I'm doing in the fast places. I would say diff 4 at least. The only real problem I have with the Power Wolf, is the speed. And I'm fingering... (haven't learned the plecter-thingy. )
  21. I was wondering: Why has some people noted "Bass (fingered)" and others just "Bass"? Is it different versions, or different input? And can RS differentiate between the playing style?
  22. Not many answers in here. My bet is: No. Well not if you are going for a part in a bass league. Somethings is easier to play on a guitar, so it would be unfair competition (in my opinion).
  23. I can help you with that. (I'm clever... and had allready complained about it earlier. ) I had the same problem. You can download the CustomForge Song Manager (CFSM) and using that program you can "fix" files. I have no idea what it does apart from fixing. And I'm also uncertain why nobody just do it, and put it back up for download. If you're using NoCable thingy, there might be a problem with starting the game with that (my version couldn't find my cable anymore). But then I just uninstalled CFSM (after the file was fixed ). Now it all works... Anyway... this is the answer from the NOOB.
  24. Finally I got some nice results... Actually I'm a bit proud of the "easy" song. But I think there was a bit of luck included. Put damn it's a hard one... going on and on. I really enjoy this Lonesome Rider. It's a great and fun bass-part, though it also tears on my stamina. This time it went quite nicely. I have to remember not to strain my hand... just relax, and it gets easier to play. It's a shame, that I couldn't get the song manager to work with my NoCable. Could be nice if anyone had some experience in that direction. Sometimes it would be nice to change pitch, at least so I don't use so much time tuning. It's great with this competition... It makes me practice a lot... every day.
  25. So the whole song sounds a few notes higher as well?! Impressive. No thank you, I'm not going very far with this song anyway. It's out of my league.
