  1. Hopefully you are not syncing notes and instead meant beat markers in your title, as this is a poor way to chart a custom.

I wasn't going to share this because I'm just a beginning charter myself, but another member of this forum is also just starting his first custom, so I made this for him. I'm sure I've left some important info out. And this only applies to the song he is working on. Hope it helps somewhat.

  2. I guess I'm getting use to ignition, though I agree it's not a huge improvement over the old search. It's the last page I check out before signing out, but there is no sign out button on the page that I can find. I have to go to yet another page in order to sign out. Not a big deal, just one extra step that I didn't have to do in the old search.

  3. Ran your specs over at Game Debate. Your setup satisfied the minimum requirement, but not the recommended requirements.

CPU is fine. GPU is under powered. You might have to tweak a couple of settings if you notice any lag.

Read the RocksmithConfiguration.pdf file located in the Rocksmith2014 folder to explain all of the setting in your Rocksmith.ini file.

  4. I only briefly read this topic, so this might have been brought up already.

Another option would be to start listing simple new program ideas that you would like to see added (as new software) that in someway would benefit people in the RS community.

Hopefully a Dev might see a requested idea that he would want to work on.

His finished program could be released as a freeware program with voluntary PayPal donations accepted.

I have donated to well written, good quality freeware programs in the past..

  5. Ok thanks to all who submit the songs for the downloads. First I'm rather new at doing this so some help getting these songs into the game for my PC. Do I just copy them into the file where all the songs are located after purchasing cherub rock if that's required?

Thanks for anybody's help in this matter.

  6. It can be tough to run RS2014 on some laptop computers. Looking at your ini file, I think the first two areas I would play around with would be your video resolution screen width & height and your audio buffer settings also look high. Just adjust one setting at a time and see if it helps. I'm not sure whether you are having audio or video bottlenecks.

    From the RocksmithConfiguration PDF file:

The default video setting for the game is 1280x720. Faster computers with more capable video cards will be able to run smoothly at higher resolutions. If your computer is not running smoothly at the resolution currently selected, you can drop the screen resolution down to improve performance.

VisualQuality [default: 1] – Set this value to reflect the visual quality setting you’d like to use. The values correspond like this: 0 – Low Quality, 1 – Medium Quality, 2 – High Quality, 3 – Custom

MaxOutputBufferSize [default: 0] - A few audio devices have been found to have very large output buffers. In this case, the game does its best to choose a reliable audio buffer size. However, you might find that setting this variable will help to resolve audio issues. In its default setting of 0, it leaves the configuration of this value up to Rocksmith. Most audio cards end up using an audio buffer size of 1024. Fast PCs can usually run with this at 512. If you have disabled ExclusiveMode, you may need to use a higher setting for this. We haven’t run into any specific issues caused by the choice of values for MaxOutputBufferSize, but you may have better luck using multiples of 8 or 32.

LatencyBuffer [default: 4] - This value allows you to adjust the number of audio buffers used in one area of the Rocksmith 2014 audio engine. A smaller value will use fewer buffers. Fewer buffers mean lower latency, but increase the demands on your PC to avoid audio crackling. Most recent high performance PCs can handle a setting of 2. The fastest PCs might be able to run reliably at 1. This value only supports whole numbers.

You can always rename or delete your Rocksmith.INI file and the next time you launch Rocksmith 2014, a new one will be created with the default settings.

You can find additional setup info in the  RocksmithConfiguration.pdf  file located in your RS2014 folder.

There are also web sites you can go to, to see if you computer is powerful enough to run certain games at the minimum and recommended requirements.

I keep hearing people talk about GPA here. I guessing this is a Guitar Pro app for iPad & tablets.

If so I'm tempted to give it a try but I don't own a iPad. I do have a iPod touch but they only have a 3.5" screen.

Do you think that with such a small screen that this would still be something worth purchasing?

I hadn't heard of GPA until I read this thread either.  What they're talking about is "Go PlayAlong" (GPA) which is a tab player that lets you link a tablature file to an MP3 and then syncronize them.  When I saw how powerful this tool was today, I purchased it.  I think it will save me hundreds of hours of banging my head on the desk because a drummer dropped tempo 4x in a 10 second timeframe.Helpful linkage:  http://www.goplayalong.com/

I was checking out the $7.99 Guitar Pro app for androids thinking this was what everyone was talking about when they mentioned GPA.

Thanks for clearing this up for me. I'll check out Go Play Along.

  8. There's nothing you can do about it, but you can ask the author to update their post to include the feature.

Dynamic difficulty can be added to a song that doesn't have it by using the toolkit under the DDC tab, as long as the magna charter used section makers and created the custom correctly according to the instructions in the link I provided above.

  10.

I think I'll download the demo this week and give it a try.

At my age sending $70.00 if it helps me learn how to play guitar better isn't too bad.

I've defiantly thrown away more money than that on stupider things in my life.

Hey you already made a great custom why do you need that thought you were already a rockstar. ;) Yea I thrown away many dollars trying to learn. When you finally get totally pissed we will get together and smash the shit out of our guitars. It will definitely teach you how to play tabs though.

Oh! Man. I'm know where near as good as you think I am. I hope to have my next custom here by the end of the week. I've been working on it for the last 3 to 4 weeks.

I can't wait until I'm good enough at making these that they take only a day. Shitty tabs. #@%&?
