I think everybody see now, that if somebody sit and play a game for a week, than take 5 minutes, he can generate a bunch of really good features to add to rocksmith... But do you really think that Ubisoft is soo lazy that they can't use this week before? It is always the same situation: their goal is not make a killer-music-teaching thing, but earn as much money as possible by making us update more and more. So I'm sure they already have a list of "innovations" for next 2-3 rocksmith releases. Look for example on changes between first RS and RS 2014, the only real thing was a Session Mode and improved detection of pitch and techniques used, everything else was a fixing of baby mistakes done in RS12 like long song loading, too complex menus with a lot of delay on animation, some obvious improvements on showing a music tab. Where the smithyanvil forums? there were such topic with a lot of ideas years ago. And for those who think that RS Cable is something supe-puper, I can say that Rocksmith differs this cable from any another windows sound recording device ONLY by checking it's vendor ID (every USB device has it). Really, I believe that sometime we will get community rocksmith analog, like Phase Shift, Frets on Fire were made to continue RockBand and GuitarHero ideas. Phase Shift even supports midi keyboards and that midi RockBand promode guitars. I can say Phase Shift within 2 years have get much more functionality than Rockband.

I'm really don't see any point installing active pickups when you have a cheap gear and so on (I don't mean you @@DevStereo, just in general). Originally as I know active pickups were invented to make guitar signal not fade much because of very high resistance of long cables used on scenes, but now as you know on scene wireless systems are used (so cable is short) and if you practicing at home you don't have such problem too. Another point is that I know anybody capable of soldering given him a bunch of components will make a preamlifier in 10 minutes, that will make the same effect as active pickups have but will economy you a decent amount of money. Everytime I look how much EMGs cost, I think I would better go and buy another guitar by adding a bit of money. If we are speaking about active pickups tones, it is a decision of taste and nothing more, like digital vs tubes or one guitar wood (shape, strings, etc.) vs another. Guitar world is full of different myths, you know. I've on my guitar passive pickups of unknown brand (I haven't disassemblied it).

Have played MC song. It is fantastic, I really like it. The only thing is that I can't pass that super mix of tapping and little sweeping and always get 3 crosses there in SA :) But that melody before is killer: at first it going to hands memory very fast and at second I were suprised I can play it without mistakes on 85% speed and even litter slower playing it makes me feel like I am flying somewhere, really... That song really motivates to participate this week hard. Why you are picking open note once or I don't hear something??

Saying honestly it was a too boring week for me, struggling with boring song... I really don't like how war pigs are charted (I've wrote about it here before), that chords that made with single notes always punishing me like "OK, guy I can clearly hear that you have slided two notes in a chord, but third note seems losted on path and that's a miss, sorry". Also that absolutely wrong hopos between chords, I'm now making more hopos that himself Tony Iommi do on record, but not enough to make rocksmith be happy. You can unpack song with RS toolkit, open chart in EOF and try transpose it to DropD. I've done it that previous week. PM me for details if needed. nop hahaha It had recognition issues with power chords and some notes, and i think we changed the song due to that It really often doesn't accept my chords and I don't know why. But I can't say that it often make a miss in the same place -- it is kinda random. Maybe trouble is A445 tuning? Also some chord slides are done as a bunch of single notes not a chord (no chord frame in game) and at the begining there is a place where note on A string get slide than sustain, than there is a small gap O_o and then vibrato. I though that capo should be installed to press on fret (metal thing I mean) not the place between them?? I have no real capo, but pencil and rubber were giving me right notes with a unnoticed cents bias at all, but as I said open double stops don't work. And I really don't like that kind of stuff, I prefer more rock guitar playing to acoustic way with fingerpicking. For me it looks like another guitar path that is very weak connected with rock guitar. Look at him, I bet many famous shredders can't do that insane fingerpicking:

And somebody should check MC Rhythm song. I've tried it yesterday and Rocksmith doesn't accepted any double stop of open GB strings. Have checked everything -- it simply don't accept it, but everything is OK with single notes on this strings or even with all other double stops.

Yes that was exactly what I thought about - "note highway". I mean it is better not try to read rhythm from RS, but listen it once and remember how it should sound or start from a slow speed where you can easily control situation.

I don't think it will change a situation, I can clearly sometimes see chords on pane but begin to play right only after listening to song. But it is true that you changes increases readability a lot.

If somebody of you guys will say me that I after 5 weeks starting from Intermediate will go to MC I will never believe it... But it is a true now, thx everybody for this cool competition! Let's look what we have: whoa albumart looks kinda crazy, and rhythm is it right that I will play that acoustic fingerpicking stuff?? It will be a wonder if I will get more that 79% that case :)

Have played it for 2 hours, and what try do you think apeered the best, the THIRD one!! I really need some pscyhological training to stop became sloppy when playing more or after something starting go right and I became afraid that I will make mistakes. And started to make it: downloaded 2 free video editors, both crashed LOL So I stoped on Movie Maker + Audacity. Created it as video file, but now can't find how to upload it on youtube (have never done it...)??? Googled it :) When mixing guitar I've made middle in original quiter to make my guitar sound more hearable. And of course there are some sensational fails in easy places and solo (interestingly that I've never made that mistake on e string ending before). Also I don't know why that glow on hit is disappering after restart. That is my first video, so advices are welcome...

I just wanted to make own one on that song... So will go and do it, and we will have 2 videos! And thx for this, this track is one of the rare tracks with grouling (screaming??) I like.

I've tried demo of fraps last time and It doesn't want to record any sound, also tried ASUS Gaming Evolved thing and it doesn't catch sound too... Will try Bandicam or Badicam?? and Action Player, but I have no hope really they will work with exclusive rocksmith mode.

Everytime I see somebodys playthrough I start to want make an own one... But have the problem: in exclusive mode sounds isn't recorded and without it Rocksmith doesn't want to output sound (I don't know why??), plus my sound card drivers are not fully compatible with Win7, that causes weird ingame tones of guitar. And when I realize that I need to separately record a video, along with recording sound in GR, that extract music from CDLC and mix this 3 components, I become too lazy. And thx for everybody doing playthroughs especially with filming themselfs, for me overcome nerves about somebodys watching how I play seems impossible.
