Unrelated question about multiplayer that maybe someone can help me out with :

I tried to play some guitar+bass with my partner yesterday and we wanted to slow a song down to 50% to practice it together.

Whenever I go into riff repeater and turn the speed down and hit 'practice selection' the song just keeps being at 100%, no matter what I try to reduce the speed.

I also tried using RSMods to decrease the speed but the hotkeys don't work at all in multiplayer.
I've searched the forums and online but couldn't find any discussion about this problem (I guess local multiplayer isn't really that popular😅)

Did any of you try it before?  Or maybe someone could help me out and check it on their setup?

Maybe it's a general problem with Rocksmith and it never worked in the first place

Hmmmm... i play local MP once a week, love that. Never tried the RR there, but will!

    Rock!

Not that I think it's a problem, but it seems that we played the Tame Impala song already on week 431. Or is this a different version?

I was also wondering why that was rechosen so early - but as it has been slightly over a year i decided to let it pass. It´s the same version.

cool song, gotta say it is one of the toughest advance songs i've played here in a long time ( for guitarpaths atleast)

really glad we don't show video recordings here cause on my end it sounded like a dying animal lol. Also probably will be my last post since im moving stuff out and then traveling etc.  But it was fun!

Yeah - damn cool, damn hard. Congrats - great scores there!!!

I first was a bit annoyed by the charting - cause part of the low scores are the arpeggio way - that like here chords are charted so every single note of the chord is counted... but then when my tries started to sound ok i recorded the next take - and listening to my playing there was ........... depressing 🫣 - the low 70s is absolutely deserved - absolutely didn´t sound anything like the song, dang. C´mon everyone - have a listen on your playing there! Submissions welcome!

@ jellisjenius  oof i think i've had this conversation before haha.

Well yea, generally speaking i wouldnt compare lead to bass. I would however, compare rhythm to bass since sometimes it can be the same path just without chords in rock/metal/ pop / guitar centered genres. In this case, i did compare it to the lead since this one doesnt have a rhythm path but does have alot of rhythm sections that are similar to the bass . I don't think doing so is too outfield, it's not comparing two completley different instruments like piano and drums or piano and guitar ( although honestly if you are good at one you can kinda pick up the other one easier but thats not the point) . I mean in some places they even call it a bass guitar.

I do understand not every bassist owns a guitar or would want to play the guitar or vice a versa, and i respect that. But if they were given one, it wouldnt be like he/she would have no clue on what is happening . Granted there might be some techniques that one side would be better at than the other like finger picking for bass or some skills like chords maybe for guitarist but they still would manage to play, i think.

All of that being said, I also do understand that bass can be almost like 1.5x bigger than a guitar( or atleast the one i own is, kinda makes the guitars look like a kids toy) making some riffs like w/m aka 1 skip note 1 skip note 1 (3, 5, 7) harder to play (that's not the case here ) cause its a bigger stretch and on top of that the strings being a bit thicker makes it more physically demanding.

So thats why im not too opposed of bass being the same or a bigger number and imo the ideal number would be between 0 to 2 above the rhythm if its similar ( up to 2 cause that still keeps it to only  a class above) . Any higher than 2 and i think its being a bit silly because a bassist should be used to those inconveniences since it is their instrument of choice, and honestly imo those inconvences balance out not having to do chords anyways.

Also yes, it is a bit challenging.. but the name of this is rocksmith challenge so i kinda would hope it would be challenging..not much point of you getting 97+ on your competition level (or higher) first try without practicing the song or having it played before imo. If that happens i think either the song is classified higher than it should be or the player needs to be in a higher level. I personally prefer the first option as the later would promote us all to masterclass and i think that'd kinda make this not as interesting/ a bit stale. It's more interesting when you and the other participants in your category have to practice a song for several missed notes rather than play the whole song and hope to not miss that 1 note to beat someones 99.86 imo.

Haha, yeah - those tend to come back. But discussions about diff ratings and rules will always make it better, never worse - so HURRAY!!!

Shall i this time really keep it short, i don´t think i can... let´s see.

I think comparing guitar and bass charts is somewhat problematic for the difficulty of the same chart can vary a lot. Eg when it comes to chords but also fast sections with taps and when the pinky is used can be way harder while others will be pretty much the same diff.

Scores (acc %) won´t help you a lot in diff rating as a song shall be rated on the hardest part - if there is a part diff 8 in the middle of a otherwise single-note run song it´s not a good choice for the CS maybe, but still a 8 because only players capable of 8 can master it.

You did extremely well on your IM sightread - BRAVO!!!

As i did the ratings myself i know the charts well luckywise, and compared to all that we play the Paul part is an easier advanced (i was dragged between 6 and 6.5, 6.5 felt a bit more true) and the Maiden is an easy MC or hard ADV (7.5) - problem with long songs - you get less tries in the same amount of playing time which adds .5 probably and makes it better fit MC.

Yes, if i were in your shoes i would be pissed that week. You nearly aced MC one try and you already also have amazing 99+ on the awesome album. And it´s monday.

We shall have more harder bass songs more often!!!

    Rock!!!

I don't like when new weeks start so early. @ Rodman  I think a lot of people have time to play saturday evening, so it's good to give them more time.

Scores have been accepted. @ wkwenzel - What an effort, what a score! Congrats.

    image.png

You won adv and masterclass - you also achieved >99.5 on a diff >7 ... i put you in masterclass where you clearly seem to belong and gave you the well deserved masterclass win.
Feel free to keep posting scores for advanced and any class you like! (If you unlikelywise ever wanna move down to adv again just post a comment and we will do that)

@Mikson @All - That´s a debate early vs late scores. I am slightly in favor of keeping a hard line week-end : new-week-start than to accepting scores till let´s say midnight CET because it´s another extra effort for the organizer of the next week and it might be a lil worse for the competition: All is good with players who compete over the week and ALSO have time to play on sat evening. We had the situation that there was heavy fighting over the week, and always (for a few moths)saturday evening that one player posted only one score and took the win. ( @ MonstaS4 will remember 😉 ) In that very situation it is better when those score open the week and allow competition than end it. Personally i think starting the week with a lot of saturday scores is a cool thing. And as a player it doesn´t make a lot of difference whether starting to work on the new songs or improving the old (but yes, i do that over the week also). And of course we should keep being layed back and accept scores that come in a lil late.
But that is only me - please give us feedback - let´s make the CS even better!!!!!!

    Have one great reocking sunday!
